  1. Snort! I do this to my dog all the time – she looks equally unsure of what to make of it.

  2. I love the eyes closed/blissful look of the second picture. Must have caught a really good up-draft.

  3. Higher! Higher!

  4. I think this is one the cutest ones yet.

When I opened up the page I actually said, “oooooh” out loud.

    Love it!

  5. Superman…

    Star Trek…

    two references…

  6. I can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  8. biscuithead says:

(*sings in voice of Kim Carnes*)

    …He’s got David Bowie eyes…

/No, seriously — one blue, one brown.

  9. biscuithead says:

    Sorry, correction:

    (*sings again*)

    SHE’s got David Bowie eyes.

  10. Keeping the focus!..lol

  11. I like his different googly eyes! And his practically hairless pink skin. Hilariously cute!

  12. This made me laugh like Peter Griffin.

  13. Makes me think of “Kiwi.”

  14. biscuithead says:

    Hey Theo! 🙂

As a fan of Bowie, I am aware of his eye condition, but the protective contact lens he wears gives the appearance of one blue + one brown.

I was being, like, tewtally superficial here.

/I doubt this lovely pooch dances in the moonlight, the serious moonlight.

  15. How many legs does that cutie have?

  16. That dog has the trickest eyeball ever! It looks like it’s a blue ring around a brown center! What an awesome portrait!

  17. Sorry Biscuithead, you don’t get prtective lens o this sort of injury, my brother has te exact same problem. What you may be thinking of is this quote:

Doctors could not fully repair the damage, leaving his pupil permanently dilated. As a result of the injury, Bowie has faulty depth perception. Bowie has stated that although he can see with his injured eye, his colour vision was mostly lost and a brownish tone is constantly present. The colour of the irises is still the same blue, but since the pupil of the injured eye is wide open, the colour of that eye is commonly mistaken to be different.

Bowie SEES brown out of that eye.

  18. Aww that pup looks so happy, he’s smiling!

  19. Have no fear, Super Pup is here!

  20. Nobody knows why bumblebees can fly- and now, the question is reopened about how bulldogs can fly, I smell dissertation!

  21. 2nd picture: Ahhhhh! BLISS!
    Ah b’leeve Ah kin flah!

  22. That reminds me, I need to make an appointment for a pedicure. Maybe I can take this little girl with me and we can make a day of it at the spa!

  23. AWWW!!! This doggy wants to fly!!

  24. I LOVE the second pic.. too cute!!!

  25. ThreeCatNight says:

    Is it a bird,
    Is it a plane?
    Nooo!! It’s the
Able to slurp his food dish,
Able to leap small fire hydrants at a single bound –
The CANINE CRUSADER leads a never-ending effort for truth, justice, and decency for dogs the world over! (but he left his cape at home!)

  26. “I’m King of the World…woo-hoo”
    *cue sappy Titanic theme*

  27. *GASP*

Its Rotta the Hutt! From the clone wars movie I was forced to sit through!

The second picture just makes it.

  28. Hooray for Una! 😛

  29. Eaglie, I thought of the kiwi too with that blissful 2nd pic with eyelids at half mast. So happy to finally be airborne!

  30. In the first one, he looks like my High
    School “Shop” teacher, Mr. Groszko.

  31. I love Una!!

  32. Awww! She is smilingk!

  33. Von Zeppelin says:

Not only are the eyes different colors, but they are scanning in different directions. An important safety feature for flying dogs.

[In my day, we had *one* FLIR pod, and we *liked* it! Harrumph. – Ed.]

  34. I can almost see those jowls flappin’ in da wind!!!

  35. think of some wonderful things
its the same as having wings
think of Christmas, think of snow
think of sleigh bells Here we go!
like a reindeer in the sky

You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

  36. 2nd photo is AWESOME! Yay for flying dogs!

  37. revolution724 says:

However, Jane Seymour really does have one blue eye and one brown eye.

  38. I can show you the world
    Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

    I can open your eyes
    Take you wonder by wonder
    Over, sideways and under
    On a magic carpet ride

    A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
    Or where to go
    Or say we’re only dreaming

    A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I’m way up here
    It’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you
Now I’m in a whole new world with you

    Unbelievable sights
    Indescribable feeling
    Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
    Through an endless diamond sky

    A whole new world
Don’t you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath – it gets better
    I’m like a shooting star
    I’ve come so far
I can’t go back to where I used to be

    A whole new world
    Every turn a surprise
    With new horizons to pursue
    Every moment red-letter
    I’ll chase them anywhere
    There’s time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you

    A whole new world
    That’s where we’ll be
    A thrilling chase
    A wondrous place
    For you and me

Couldn’t help myself. That’s what I immediately thought of!

  39. Kris – OK, you’ve chosen a good piece to work with… now rewrite it for Una.

  40. Rev724 — here you go:

(it’s a GINORMOUS photo, but you definitely can see her eye colors)

  41. I was in a terrible mood and then I saw this post and everything was better. This is why I love this site. 🙂

  42. Teho – I will have to address that this afternoon – work suddenly became WORK! HMPH! Back laters!

  43. great googly eyes, batman!

  44. Hmm, kinda reminds me of dis guy:

“I ain’t got no body, and nobody cares for me. Yakka tak ta a yakka tak ta ha!”

  45. This makes me happier than anything in recent memory. 🙂

  46. My cousin was BORNED with one blue eye and one brown, so there. But he does not possess the Marty Feldman bidirectional gaze.

  47. @Biscuithead– So just change the lyrics to “She’s got Marty Feldman eyes.”

  48. “i like the weeeeend!”

  49. The first picture looks like Pink Floyd’s “Learning to Fly” – “my sole intention/is learning to fly!/Condition grounded/but determined to try.” And the second picture looks like Talking Heads “And She Was” “And she was moving very slowly/rising up above the earth/moving into the universe/drifting this way and that/not touching the ground at all/up above the yard!”

  50. Awwww…the sweetest!

  51. The “Marty Feldman” condition is known (I believe) as strabismus. It has to do with the the muscles behind the eye socket being weak.

No one’s going to get this, but I used to hold up my cat Rider like this when he was a kittie and say “KUNTA KINTE! KUNTA KINTE!!!”

  52. looks a little bit like a pig.

  53. And Ding — excellent ref to Talking Heads! I’d also throw in “Free Fallin'” by T.P.

  54. thequeenmum says:

Oh my gosh, I just about keeled over at that dangling paw!

  55. Berthaservant: I get it. It’s also like the scene in Lion King where the father is holding up Simba. I bet they stole the idea from “Roots”.

  56. Berthaservant,
I TOTALLY get the KuntaKinte reference, have done it myself! this puppy looks blissfully happy and loved.

  57. momof2kitties says:

We do the Lion King hold with Georgie, too! Then my DS sings Circle of Life. Yeah, we’re dorky like that. Mia would just as soon rip your face off as be held up by her cat pits like that.

This pup? He’s gots the bliss!

  58. warrior rabbit says:

And Rider would defiantly say, ‘Toby!’

  59. LOL Warrior Rabbit….he wasn’t really into the whole role-playing thing, unfortunately, so I would have to say “Toby” in a different voice.

  60. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry, that may be uncalled for with all these clever comments but it is all I got.

    Damn, that’s cute!

  61. Behold the only thing greater than yourself little one. And enjoy!

  62. This made my day!

  63. Gail (the first one) says:

    @momof2kittehs: LOL’ing at “cat pits”!!!!!!!!!!!

So, has anybody else been watching the “Greatest American Dog” (a TV reality show about dogs/owners here in the US)??

  64. AWHS

  65. spookymuffins says:

Really – honestly THE best thing I have seen on this website since ‘butter duckie’
    well done!
    *glof clap

  66. ding- i’ve been listening to the talking heads all week and that is one of my favorite songs, perfect for what this pup is feeling. very upbeat. love una and the gleeful smile 🙂

    “i’m sweeeeming!”

  67. This Pic makes me think I’ve died and gone to heaven

  68. haha, this made my day 😀

  69. That? is adorable.

  70. Ground control to Major Tom…

  71. That second picture with the eyes closed is the cutest. I almost died when I saw it.

  72. I wuv dis widdle doggie!

  73. Totalee Puppy says:

Thanks,EVERYONE, for all the cool comments! The picture of our happy dog with his eyes closed is one of the best I’ve seen here at CO. MEG, you lift our spirits!

  74. Totalee Puppy says:

“You raise me up, so I can
    see the mountains…
You raise me up, to walk
    on stormy seas…
    I am strong…when I am on your shoulder…
    You raise me up…to all
    that I can be…”

  75. Totalee Puppy says:

    Happy…happy…er, happy

  76. Totalee Puppy says:
