Tonight on "Dancing With The Stars: Galapagos Edition," reigning champions Missy McGuire and Kent Schmecknick, from the hit TV series "Unspeakably Ugly Betty" defend their title in the Latin freestyle category.
Are they working for scale, Doug B? (More photos here)

lol that’s cute in a disturbing way! >_<
*SNERT* “SCALE!” Guffaw guffaw.
(Uh, ’scuse me, but isn’t that a tango?)
creepy…
Possible best texts and hover texts evar.
Look-out! He’s gunna dip her!
(most excellent hover text, bah ha ha!)
I see eye capsules and smiley faces. These are some extremely blissed-out reptiles.
Hahahaha! The hovertext! I lurve eet!
“Iguana hold your hand”? Oh, the shame, Mike…
Aww I love their smiley little faces looking up at the sun
not enough reptiles on this site! I’m a life-long lizard lover. I’m imagining stroking their scaly little bellies right now…
I love ballroom dancing and I love reptiles who love ballroom dancing – but only reptiles who love ballroom dancing.
LOL!!!!! Great captions and hovertext!!!! Looks like Kent Schmecknick has “grabby hands”!!
over a year ago i submitted youtube footage of a little girl putting plastic doll clothes on hypnotized lizards… and it didn’t get posted, but these scary things do?! geeze.
looking at them makes me want to itch, don’t ask :\ but their expressions are funny, definitely not in the cute category.
Mike, well done (again…)!
And they do look very happy indeed. I hope they make it to the next round and win the final. Go, Missy and Kent!
It looks like their contract with Dancing with the Stars comes with escape claws.
I love them. Moisturizer anyone?
Groan!!
Bravo! Everything on this site might not be cute to everyone, but that’s impossible to think everyone will like everything. That’s what makes the world go round!
Well said, crazyweinerdoglady. I was going to say something similar but more in the vein of complaining that every time CuteOverload does something cool, people feel like it’s their personal duty to remind everyone it’s NOT TEH QTEZ. Like they didn’t catch that before they posted it. Yeeesh.
Your response is much more diplomatic, but I haven’t had my coffee yet.
I’ve always loved these little guys, they ARE SO adorable!!and I’m so happy to see them here. Thanks Meg!(ps Happy Birthday!!)
Exquisite form and grace. Fabulous partnering.
…a 10!
miss h, I personally find little girls, plastic doll clothes (are the clothes plastic or the dolls?) and hypnotism, especially upon animals, scary. As such, Meg took great care not to offend me personally and didn’t post your submission last year. She must simply have been unaware of your definitions of cute and scary, and I’m sure she’ll have this post removed immediately upon discovering her error. Or NTMTOM will, as he’s the one who posted this picture. Or Teho. They’re all here to please you and me and not ever post anything a single one of us finds less than 100% cute.
/sarcasm
Iguanas are both cute and majestic all at the same time!
They also make a lovely couple!
I think it’s adorable.. it’s almost as if they’re smiling!
Oh, yeah, I’ll
tell you something
I think you’ll understand
When I tell you something,
I wanna hold you hand!
For the younger crowd who had no idea of the reference. IF we are going to be historically accurate.
NIIIIce literary ref there, “NOM-TOM”.
How sad is it that Lewis Carroll and the Beatles are probably alike in their obscurity today. I couldn’t stand the Beatles, but Lewis Carroll, now that’s a whole ‘nother iquana. CLAWS of thunder!
So ugly they’re beautiful.
And apparently they find each other quite adorable.
I love iguanas! They are beautiful and enjoying their day, obviously! Great post, NomTom Selleck!
Eerily enough, the two lizards remind me of
Homer and Marge Simpson. XD
I normally love iguanas, though these look a little snagglier than usual.
I have to succumba
To that Rhumba
looks a little more like the “horizontal rhumba”
Oh, that’s too much. Surely that’s a couple of people in iguana suits! What a scream – it’s moving, but very weird…
Meg, lately your commentary is EVEN MORE brilliant than usual.
raaaassssspppppbbbbeeerrriiieeessss….. does anyone even look at the ‘posted by’ any more.
props and poops to ntmtom.
bahhhh dahhhhh.
Remember the Creature from the Dark Lagoon?
THANKS to these great
commentaristas:
HON GLAD for “succumba to the Rhumba…”
WBIRDIE for Homer and Marge
Simpson…
DECCA for the “escape claws”…
THANKS to CO for the great
iguanas…I like anything
about the Galapagos.
I think these are marine iguanas. They’re crustier looking then other iguanas because they get coated in salt from swimming in the ocean, which they do to graze on kelp! Very cool creatures, although even I don’t find them cute. (and I’ve got a pet green iguana!)
For those who are freaked out by the marine iguanas, Fiji iguanas are waaaay cuter.

I am not a reptile fan or a fan of dancing with the shmoes. But I like this picture.
Miss H: you might not visit much but videos that prominently feature humans being more cute than animals (with some exceptions) generally don’t get very good reception ’round here. Pa-sickie.
Katrina: I don’t think the Beatles have fallen into obscurity. In fact, they’ve made more on their music library over the past few years than they did in the years they were active, several recent biographies/histories have come out and/or been reissued, Cirque du Soleil teamed up with George Martin and his son to produce the soundtrack to the show “Love,” Julie Taymor made “Across the Universe” last year (it was awesome IMO), Paul McCartney’s personal life still makes headlines, and so forth.
Nods respectfully to platedlizard (and Hon Glad and BerthS and everybody else you’re all cleverer than moi). I like these marine lizards.
Well, Berthaservant, you may be correct, but when I asked some 16 year olds (in a Marching Band) to name a Beatle songs and tell me the lyrics they went blank. They also asked me if I “was around” for the Beatles, and were much more aware of the Rolling Stones.
So, around these parts, with these kiddoes, the Beatles are obscure. You and I have a different sense of history than they, that’s all. But thanks for the info on their recent doings!
“Are they almost done shooting this scene? This suit is giving me hives and I really have to pee!!”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!
(gasp)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
PS “crustier” SNORT!
Rules of Cuteness that support posting crusty iguanas:
>#6: Mimics Humans
>#21: Has Eye Capsules
>Ladies and Gentlemen—we can achieve world peace with this image
>Moderator says so
Marine Iguanas are some of the best lizards ever. The best is watching them snort the salt water out of their noses (it’s what the white gunk is on their heads).
That picture captures so much.
I was one of those little kids who was obsessed with Marine Iguanas and Blue Footed Boobies. Biology Nerd doomed from the age of 1 1/2!
Katrina — point well taken. Tell them to listen to “Rubber Soul” and they’ll get curious.
Bwhahahahahahahahahaha!!!! This one made me snort. Good one, NTMTOM. Thank you for making my morning.
I think that NTMTOM is the best thing that’s happened to CuteOverload since I started my daily visits here over a year ago.
“Unspeakably Ugly Betty” (snerk!) still makes me laugh.
Berthaservant, you can’t say “Rubber” anything to a 16 year old boy and expect him to listen….oh, geez, did I say that?
I really like the Galpagos- your are not the only TV biology nerd Robin- and it paid off, my son is a bio and chem major at UCONN! He even wants to teach it! Oh, David Attenboro, Jacques Cousteau (rip) how I love you all! Any more Attenboro fans out there? Indeed!
FORGIVE MY TENDANCY TO ANTHROMORPHIZE EVERYTHING BUT IF YOU SQUINT YOUR EYES JUST SO, THE ONE LOOKS LIKE IT IS WEARING A HAIRPIECE ALA RICK JAMES OR PEACHES AND HERB . . . . .HE/SHE IS LOOKING LIKE “ WATCH THAT HAND, BUSTER” AND AND THE OTHER ONE ON TOP, OBVIOUSLY ALPHA MALE WITH THE DO HE’S SPORTIN’- Check out my nobbies!
