    Yellow fuzzy ducky ‘tocks!

Awww…I think the photo with the dueling duck bills is pretty cute. The head tucks are brain-’sploding.

  9. Look at the nubbular leggins on the right one!

  10. Karen in Toronto says:

Peep elbows looking a lot like chewed Bazooka on the subway floor. I appreciate the hidinks in the third photo.

  11. Beth says:

Anyone notice that the duckies are older in the last pic. Their pink beaks are longer and they are getting real feathers. So sweet.

  12. Karen in Toronto says:

Good catch, Beth! I didn’t look that closely.

  13. Barbara says:

Right up to heaven, Im in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When were out together dancing, out together dancing (swinging)
Out together dancing cheek to cheek

    Interlocking duckies!

  18. Leslie says:

Their bills, legs, and feet are *totally* made of Silly Putty. I always wondered why that stuff came in an egg.

  19. darkshines says:

I had a terrible day, and that bottom pic made me smile :)

  20. Jie says:

Oh the memories of when I had a baby duck, he followed me everywhere, and he had a warm spot under his beak..this is too adorable…xoxo

  22. oni says:

it’s not metal, it’s a plastic tub. prolly very handy for fostering babies- light, strong, cleans easily.

  23. Julie L says:

I love how shiny and new their beeeeeks and feeeeets are. And how they’ve changed places in the last pic… very very sweet. :)

@Gizmo – surely there is something wrong with your keyboard, for you most definitely meant to type “beak to beak.” *tilts head in a “Am I right?” gesture*

But yes, I AM staring at your wee fuzzy/feathery ‘tocks! And your stubbular winglets. And your adorable feets. *gently kisses the wee little foreheads*

Hi everyone- I’m the very flattered owner of these two ducklings, who are ducklings no more. They grow up so fast! Sometimes when I see a weed growing quickly I think, “It’s growing like a duck!”

Their names are Amos and Andie. I gave them that name before I knew their gender, they both turned out to be female. I got them to keep my other duck, Quacker, company after his buddy Jack died. I got them at a bird farm. They and Quacker are the three musketeers these days.

About the last pictue, I got really lucky. They only did that once when I kept them in the house, and I was so lucky to have the camera within arm’s reach.

You can see more pictures of Amos and Andie at:

Enjoy everyone, and thanks for posting the pictures.

    O, mah gahd.

    Too beautiful.

  30. Serena says:

P.S. @Beth — I noticed too! But I’m glad to hear from lucky-owner-Robert-W. that they are the same ducklings, just at another time :)

  31. Noelegy says:

That is what soft looks like.

    Enjoyed all your pictures.
    What a sweet guy!

  35. Katrina says:

Robert W.-Thanks so much for the ‘guck pix’! I really like ducks, and have always wanted some- not as much as I want a giraffe, but I do realize they might be a tad easier to get and maintain.

Keep us up on their antics- they are really adorable, as a the hoomans in the pix, too!

  36. mberkie0 says:

Hey, Ed., are we savin’ this to recycle in ‘Tocktober? Ahhope, ahhope, huh?

  37. Gillie says:

    Totally adorable.

    Cutest Duckies on the Internets.

Katrina, I want a giraffe, too.

  38. luckybat says:

OMG, those pink baybeh duckeh beaks. Oh, and you HAVE to check out this picture of the baybehs:

    Thanks Robert W.!

  39. Gail (the first one) says:

OMG, I didn’t need anybody telling me how *easy* it would be to get a babeh duckie!!! Wonder how the cats would take it???

  40. Kris says:

How precious! They are so beautiful! That last picture is just perfect.

  41. Babs says:

Gail, I suspect the cats would LOVE it. Tho’ maybe not the way you would prefer.

  42. Cordelia says:

Oh god, shiny little webbed feet all tucked up. *dies*

  43. Poohbear says:

Sometimes hoomans are just as sweet as their anipals. Case in point.

  44. Katrina says:

Gillie- do you have any leads on one at the moment? Did you see the New Yorker carton from a few weeks ago-the fractal giraffe? Tooo cute! Giraffes are God’s way of saying “hey, have a sense of humor about things”. An animal that is at the same time majestic and down right silly-looking.

luckybat — God is a duck? Wow, you may be right—I’d never thought of it quite that way before, but it would explain a whole lot of things- Theo- what do you think? The God/Duck thesis? Want to weigh in, anyone? God isn’t a giraffe, I’m pretty sure…

  45. Theo says:

I am probably not the first person you should ask about the nature of God.

  46. Theo says:

…as for the nature of *ducks*, well, they fly AND they swim! Not bad, eh?

  47. Gail (the first one) says:

@Babs: LOL!!! The non-cat resident here (who’s half-Lab) might appreciate it that very same way!!

  48. Katrina says:

It is OK Theo, we all have our strengths and yours is making people insanely happy, Carry on…
Ducks are awesome, we have a commonality that can’t be rendered asunder by anyone!

I’m having a wonderful time imagining Frank Sinatra singing like Donald Duck.
    “Lucky be a ducky tonight…..”

  49. Theo says:

Oh, sometimes I just make people insane. All depends.

  50. annette says:

oh my GORSH! the top duck in the last photo is TOTALLY smiling! :D

  51. Noelegy says:

The “interlocking duckies” made me think: Interlochenducken!

  52. Katrina says:

    Interlochenducken-beautiful!

  55. luckybat says:

God is a duck? Baroo?? Did I say that? Y’all must think I’m quackers!
