Laundry Tips with This Kitten

Hi, A Kitten here, with some very helpful laundry tips.

First, always divide your laundry into "softs" and "scratchies" so I know what laundry is most comfortuhbuhls roll around in.

Second, if some towels come out shredded, it’s prolly the dog’s fault, ’cause he does things like that asI’vepointedoutinthepast.

And lastly, throw some catnip leaves into EVERY and I mean EVERY drying cycle.

Bends over, snorgles belly, wipes blood from brow.

  2. charliewabba says:

hmmmm- looks to me like someone didn’t use the spot remover.

  3. Leslie says:

According to *Rorschach for Dummies,* if you tilt your head to the left, there’s a monkey on her belly; to the right, it’s a bunny.

  4. charliewabba says:

    omg, Leslie – you’re right!
(tilts head left, then right, then left again)

  5. Decca says:

You know, wouldn’t mind doing the laundry if I found this is my dryer. But all I ever find is shredded tissues. They’re not nearly as cute.

  6. Beth says:

So… much… belly! Want to nom!

  7. chanpon says:

Is this kitty like the angler fish? Throws out a very tempting fuzzy belleh to catch unsuspecting innocent heads that bend in to snorgle, only to be greeted by claws in the head and raking in the eyes?

  8. Pearl Ostroff says:

Kitten is adorable. However, (is this being a nuff?) cats don’t respond to catnip until they’re at least 6 months old. And a few, poor things, never do.

  9. Monique says:

OMG So CUTE! Thank you, I was having a horrible day.

  10. stubbedoo says:

Ah, we have one who is addicted to laundry – unfortunately, it’s the clean laundry AND he’s dark grey but attracted to the whites = hair covered clean whites and blissed out kitty. Still, I leave it out for him because I know how much he loves it.

  11. Kari says:

Pearl, I beg to differ with you on the point about cats not responding to catnip until at least 6 months of age. My kitten, Zora, is 4 months old and TOTALLY responds to catnip already! The way I know it’s the catnip is that she’s got one particular toy (with catnip) that we have already had to replace four different times (and we’ve only had her for two months). The only obvious difference between this toy and the others is the catnip.

She has some other toys that have catnip in them and very similar toys without catnip — she largely ignores the ones without catnip, even if they have a bell in them.

I could be wrong about it being the catnip that makes her crazy for her fishie, but the evidence is so strong the other way I rather doubt it. ^.^ *insert great big smiley face here*

  12. KBinTo says:

Re. catnip: when Fiasco T. Peabrain came home (about 7 weeks old) I didn’t try him on catnip because I thought he was too young. I got one of the fuzzy catnip-infused toys out of their hermetically sealed container for the older cats to enjoy. Peabo immediately glommed on the toy and began yowling like he was in pain. When I tried to pull it from his mouth he grabbed my wrist with his front paws and raked my hand with his back claws. The blood was actually flowing. At just over 2 years old he’s still a ‘nip fiend and won’t let anyone else near a fresh pile.

  13. scootepants says:

this would be a purrfect opportunity to play “get the finger” in the warm towels. (teenie little non-claw finger pats) what an angel from heaven.

  14. Kari says:

    Fiasco T. Peabrain! I love it!! :D

  15. Eastie says:

Okay, kitteh. Whatever you say. I believe you!

Leslie, good eyes! If I tilt my head to left, I kind of see a lion, but I can also see the monkey.

  16. Erebella says:

    1. With those hypnotizing eyes, that baby must get away with everything. And we’re going, “Dog….shredded clothes…..oh of course, yeah. Dog…..clawed couch, uh huh. Dog…..scratched his own nose, sure. Bad dog!”

    2. Leslie, at this point I could probably sue you for causing me a severe neck injury brought on by too many “baroo” head tilts to observe Rorschach kitteh spots. It’s all your fault! monkey/bunny/monkey/bunny

  17. lurkertype says:

When I tilt my head to the left, I see a skull and crossbones.

So I think this is a pirate kitty. Arrrrrrr. Or purrrrrr.

I love the tales of Fiasco T. Peabrain. Lives up to the awesome name.

  18. eikoleigh says:

eeeeeee – double paw curl AND a head tilt (passes out on floor)

  19. taj says:
  20. Kari says:

Awwww, he’s got an “M” on his forehead — it stands for MINE!! *snatches up kitty and runs away*

  21. wagthedogma says:

Y’know, if the people from Snuggle fabric softener had any brains, they’d replace that creepy talking stuffed bear with this adorable little fuzzbutt! :D

  22. wagthedogma says:

Of course, then they’d have to rename it SNORGLE fabric softener, but I think it would be worth it.

  23. Hon Glad says:

Yar Har Har, Lurkertype, my old matey. Oi be seein the Skull and crossbones to, Jim Lad. We’ll be a sailin on the noon toide or sap me vittals, see if oi don’t.Yar har, har, ha ha ha, har.

  24. David says:

KBinTo – 8 more syllables and that would be a cat haiku.

  25. Mary (the first) says:

I see the bunny and the crossbones too. No monkey.

  26. Katrina says:

Wagthedogma-yes, the nice kitteh would make millions of people buy Snorgle softener, but perhaps that is Meg’s new Empire-building block? Diversify, Meg, diversify!
Let’s see- C.O. itself, calendars with and without snazzy stands and fabric softener-yup, works for me!-And puzzles of adorably cute things, too.

  27. Kari says:

How about a bunny and crossbones?

  28. Theo says:

Some peeps partake of the Amarula; others stick with ye goode olde grog.

  29. Boomer's Babysitter says:

I can understand cats and fabric, but have any of you heard of a bird who liked fabric? Mr. Birdly (RIP) would go bonkers if he saw anyone folding towels, ironing, anything with big sheets of fabric. He wanted to be gently wrapped up in it and snorgled. These were my pre-CO days, tho’, and I didn’t know I was “snorgling,” at the time!
Anipals are so cool in their quirkiness!!

  30. berthaservant says:

True story: many years ago, our beloved Meow (1982-2001) had behbehs in the warshing machine. Talk about “loads of fun.”

  31. Lurker says:

Oh, my dear departed Mittens loved her some clean towels. I kept them on the top shelf of the linene closet, and she’d invariably find her way up there and wedge herself between the towels and the ceiling.

  32. Megan Frost says:

“Fiasco T. Peabrain” deserves his OWN POST!

    We must see this kitteh.

  33. dub1 says:

Erm: Rorschach left tilt, I see an Ookpik owl, right tilt I see a disapproving bun. In a bull-fighter’s hat.

  34. Raemie L. says:

Paws Up + Soooo Comfortuhbuhls …+ Tabby = a ded peep, I am.

    Eep!

  35. jmuhj says:

I think that belly-spot shape is a butterfly on dope. But then again, I could be wrong.

    Yup, it’s *SPLORT*in’ time again!

    *SIGH*

  36. SoCalSis says:

    Nope— definitely a Skull n’ Bowtie…

  37. Gail (the first one) says:

    @charliewabba: LOL’ing at spot remover!

I see the skull, too! Yo-ho-ho and a toy full of catnip, if you please!

All of mine love fresh clothes, but one of them will, shall we say, *soil* them if the litter boxes are not up to snuff.

  38. Joy says:

My parakeet has this thing for loose threads. Everytime there is a towel with threads hanging, he’ll settle down and worry the thread in his beak for at least 10 to 40 minutes. If I need to distract him if I’m trying to work, I’ll just leave out a raggety towel and my bird is in heaven. Why thread, I’ll never know. Tissue and toliet paper is another favorite toy as well.
This kitten has the most wide-eye, innocent look, one of the best I’ve seen. I want to cuddle up with kitten.

  39. Yitzysmommie says:

So, plz to kor-ect me if I’m wrong, but, I believe this kitten has pwned Rule # 22 – both in curled up pawsitude, AND eyes matching the towel. N’est ce pas?

  40. Totalee Puppy says:

Obituary: Totalee Puppy *ded* from overdose of cute kitten with blue eyes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to an animal shelter.

  41. cliffette says:

That might be the most perfect little muzzlepowsche I’ve ever seen. Two thumbs up!

  42. BabyOpossum says:

I keep returning to this pic, straining to see the rear feet, but they never appear. Ehn!

The belly marking reminds me of the Beijing Olympic emblem:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dancing_Beijing

  43. CG says:

hm. looks like someone hasn’t been cleaning the lint trap again.

  44. meadowgirl says:

omg belleh cuteness! bunneh! monkeh! awesome!

  45. Poohbear says:

Joining everyone who thinks Fiasco T. Peabrain is one of the best cat names evah! Hope Meg’s call is heard.

@Joy : picking at threads, tissues, etc is nesting behavior in birdies. Does your budgie bring them to her cage ?

  46. OMG. The tummeeee. The TUMMEEEEEEE! *buries face in soft kitty tummeeee*

  47. MoonCatty says:

Wowee… I cleaned the dryer lint trap and a perfectly formed adorabuhl kitten shaped lint clump came out!

    or…

I add a kitten dryer sheet to all my laundry loads for that sweet musky kitty fresh scent!!!

    aaaaaAAAAACCCCccchhhhoooooo!!!

  48. gravyboat says:

Looks like somebody forgot to clean out the lint trap.

  49. Totalee Puppy says:

Would you static-cling to me, anerable little kitten?

  50. Subhangi says:

    BELLEH!

    ::beep::

  51. Fegli says:

    *tickle tickle tickle*

How can you RESIST a kitten belly like that?

  52. Babs says:

Clean laundry? This holds no interest for my Stinky. His love is for used dishcloths. Oh lordy, he do love dem. Rub all up in it for hours. Weirdo.

  53. llamas says:

Awww. My Pinky McGonagall also is a great fan of the laundry. Especially the darks, of course.

  54. Karen in Toronto says:

(Sob!) Fiasco T. Peabrain is remarkably unphotogenic. I have one shot of him when he was tiny. He’s still tiny. The best shot I have of him is his impression of a pillow for Handsome Stranger, but danged if I can find it. In it he looks rather calm instead of his usual cereal killer expression.

  55. Karen in Toronto says:

llamas, Pinky would leave a lasting impression, wouldn’t he/she?

  56. llamas says:

Karen, she definitely leaves a lasting impression! One that requires a great deal of lint-rolling or another trip through the dryer to erase. :)

  57. Lurker says:

I think I’d need to look at that tummeh much closer – and possibly kiss it – before I could comment on the inkblot.

  58. ysubassoon says:

This photo reminds me that there is something important I have to do right now.

“Hello, everyone. My name is ysubassoon and I’m a snorgleholic.”

    Man, I need a fix.

  59. meowandwoof says:

My 5 kittehs deliberately bypass the t-shirts, laundry (clean and otherwise), towels and jeans and go straight for….A ROW OF CASHMERE SWEATERS!~!!!!!! And dork that I am, love ‘em too much to be cross.

ps. you can machine wash cashmere on gentle….

  60. ding says:

If I tilt my head to the left I see a mirror image kitten in the belly spots.

  61. Patricia says:

My cats have always pilled up on my freshly done laundry especially if it’s still warm from the drier. I have to put a towel over the basket until I can get it put away or I end up with thick fur covering.

  62. Patricia says:

On quirkyness. I have one cat, only one who is obsessed with licking plastic. I bring home any kind of plastic and she will lick it. Obviously I keep plastic out of her reach. 1) one it ends up covered in cat slobber 2) I am not sure if it is ok for her to do that, I have always been afraid it will end up making her sick.

She isn’t the brightest kitty, she once managed to chap the top of her head. I was in Grad school and didn’t realize when I was gone she was playing with the drips from the sink.. and chapped the top of her head, and kept doing it. I had to replace the latch on that bathroom door so she couldn’t knock it open anymore.

  63. AWWWWWWWwwwwwWWWWWWwwwwwwwwWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwww, that is all I have to say.

  64. darkshines says:

I see a skull and crossbones to the left, and Doctor Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog on the right.

  65. Theo says:

    I see a four-leafed clover. Upside down.

  66. Pumpkin Giraffe says:

I love the chapped head kitty! And I agree with the possibility of claws in the head!

  67. BeckyMonster says:

Patricia!! I thought I was the only one! My cat, Miss Pickles, is completely addicted to licking plastic grocery bags. Also the fronts of photographs and the TV screen. I am convinced she is not of this earth. When she lays on the floor for hours in strange, un-catlike positions, I tell people she is downloading a new directive from the mother ship.
