Comments

  1. Did anyone watch “So You Think You Can Dance” this season? This pup is totally channeling Twitch!

  2. ThreeCatNight says:

So, Ceil – what do you think of these beauties? Are they me or what? Ceil, don’t make that face at me!

  3. Not That Mike The Other Mike says:

AAA+++++++++++++++ EXCELLENT CUTEOVERLOADER, WOULD SNORGLE TO AGAIN

  4. (the original) Mel says:

    Granny?

  5. berthaservant says:

    Those glasses make me verklempt.

  6. AuntieMame says:

I think my mom wore those glasses when she got married 47 years ago.

  7. Ah, a pupper with great taste in vintage eyewear. Seems a little ironic for a dog to choose cat-eye styling though. I might actually bid on that since I collect cat-eye glasses, I’m wearing a pair of great horn-rims right now! :)

  8. lol @ Berthaservant..
    “like butter” :-D

  9. Looks like Mrs. Beasley! OOPS, showing my age.

  10. wagthedogma says:

Looks like my husband’s grandmother. Before the electrolysis.

  11. @shanomo – damn, you stole my line.

All this dog needs is a beehive and a poodle skirt (snerk – poodle skirt).

  12. Yay for cockapoos!

  13. i will only bid on that auction if i can get the eyeliner thrown in that is used because i’m sure i will never be able to match that shade on my own.

  14. I’m too young to make a proper comment on this pic. :Þ

  15. That looks just like my dog! What’s the breed? The place I adopted my Baxter from wasn’t sure. They guessed cockapoo or wheatiepoo. And I hate dog names with poo in them.

  16. Fabulous!

  17. I lurve those glasses. I would so wear them, but probably Freddie looks better in them than I would :(

  18. How do you say…Dee-Groovy?
    How do you say …Dee-GORGEOUS!
    How do you say…Dee-Lite? (dee-lite?, dee-lite?, dee-lite?)

  19. ScoutsMom says:

But if I buy these glasses, how will the doggie be able to see? Is she near or far sighted? I certainly wouldn’t want her to walk into walls or anything.

  20. scooterpants says:

i am looking at my mom’s wedding pic and she is TOTALLY wearing these glasses, she looks lovely.
but so does the pupper, and he looks like he’s really loving the attention!
That’s RIGHT NY Times! I am NOT in the damn demographic. I’m OLD.
(and you thought you were SO smart, 18-34 *NOT* neener neener)

  21. scooterpants says:

oh! scoutsmom! maybe puppers comes WITH! ah ha!

  22. Gail (the first one) says:

@scooterpants: Solidarity, my non-demographic-fitting friend!! (Add 13 to the top end of the range for me–HA!)

I do really *like* the glasses, but they say if you can remember wearing (a style) the first time around, you’re too old for it now!! (I had pale blue cat’s eyes with sparkles for my first pair!)

  23. Add a pale lilac tint and some sequins– Dame Edna!!

  24. Pearl Ostroff says:

Yep, I wore glasses like those 47 years ago. There is a picture of me somewhere wearing a white pair. Right now I am wearing a pair of modern glasses that are modified versions of those. I would NOT wear the original version, I think I’d look stupid.

  25. Mary (the first) aka BIGGEST HEAD ON EARTH says:

Solidarity on the non-demographics according to those fools at NYT! And I love these glasses. I would totally bid on them except if they fit the pupper they sure won’t fit me. Darnitall anyway.

  26. momof2kitties says:

I am another of the many non-demographics, too. A skosh too old and not gainfully employed. And I lurves my CO! I don’t need no stinkin’ “escapism”, I just lurves my qte!! And Meg’s humor. And Nom Tom’s. And Theo’s, too, of course.

BTW, pupster here is rockin’ the specs.

  27. Boomer's Babysitter says:

Yay for the non-demographics. I’ve got seven years over the top of the range, although female, and only occasionally use CO to escape. The rest of the time is purely entertainment!! and cute, and funny, and a source for cute pics for my ‘puter, and…

  28. Mary (the first) says:

Maybe just for fun we need a quick show of hands from those who DO fit the 18-34 demographic? Or do we even care??

  29. scooterpants says:

    mary-1st
it would be so interesting to know the numbers i think.
Sounds like a job for Theo.
    he purdy smart.

  30. kinda looks like a wheaten terrier in my grandmother’s glasses….

  31. Us non-demos have to stick together. I thinks I wore glasses like these a long, long time ago….
    Looks better on puppee

  32. *raises hand* Demographic fitter!

I think most of the regular commentors don’t fit the demographic, but a lot of those who just view, probably fit the demographic.

  33. berthaservant says:

    not female
    not 18-34 (though close)
    technically lower income

but i loves me some cute

  34. Marymomma says:

I think I fit the “demo” 18-34 (for 4 more years…), female. Is there going to be some *DING!* when I turn 34 from NYT telling me I’ve expired from CO?? ;)

Love the glasses, my mom wore very similar ones in the 60’s, she looked almost as adorable as the pupster.

  35. Woo hoo! Demo! I feel like I finally *belong* ;-)

  36. On the Demo thing, are we going calendar or mental age? ‘Cause some of us may grow old, but will never grow up…

  37. Michelle S says:

My Aunt Charlotte wore those exact frames. They were so awesome!

  38. Scott- you would rather your dog be “wheatdle” than a “wheatiepoo?” Yeah, so would I.

    Semi-demographically yours,
    Katrina

  39. snorglepup says:

    I too am above average.
C’mon. Who knows cute better than a grandma?
We knew cute before it was cool. Back when vintage was new…

  40. cheesybird says:

‘Nother non-demographic fitter here. Six years above the age range.

  41. marsheeeee says:

I come here all the time and I’m 58. (Am female, however.) So there NYT…(sticks tongue out and blows raspberry at Times). My first glasses were pink with sparkles. And that puppy has a adorable face.

  42. Gail (the first one) says:

@Mary(1st)aka BHOE: Solidarity on the big head thing!! LOL!!!

  43. It’s a look for sure.

  44. Love the glasses and the pupster!

Oooh, I fit the demo, for 3 more months. Well, I guess 15 more months, since I’ll be 34 for a whole year afterward…

Wheatable is the other word the peeps in Wheaten Rescue use. Sounds too much like a cracker to me… :D

  45. “We knew cute before it was cool”, Snorglepup- yes, and you don’t HAVE to be a Grandmother (but, I bet it helps, I’m not there yet), but there are some of us who have known cute for its many kinds of worth. Meg has tapped into a stream that is growing to a mighty river! Yea, Meg and everyone else, too, We need a YaY! YAY!!!!!!

  46. \o/

    Universal sign for YAY!

  47. @ Mary the 1st and Gail (the first one).
I too have a (I prefer) broad head. I have often thought to sue the manufactures of party hats for headism. If I can even get the things on in the fist place, they then split and as for baseball caps, I have to let the back strap out fully and then they’re tight. I am sure its our massive brains and intellects.

  48. I am sure that’s it, Hon.

  49. HISSSSSSS says:

    omgomg COCKAPOO… want.. to touch…

  50. ZOMG, this reminds me of the time my friend discovered that Argentinians get glasses for their dogs. Check it, yo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/13793314@N00/543897019/

  51. I used the term “moist nosicle” in conversation yesterday. Mayhap I need to curtail my cuteoverload habit.

  52. Even cuter is this photo at the bottom of listing (for another pair of glases). It’s like the puppy is the one selling the frames. So the puppy’s the one happy to combine shipping.

  53. Totalee Puppy says:

Anything looks cute on this puppy!
“Moist nosicle” sounds like it belongs on this evening’s menu: “May I recommend the grilled salmon in Bernaise Sauce with Basmati rice and a garni of diced Roma tomato with Shiritake Mushrooms and moist nosicle”…

  54. Cute! I want!

  55. Thanks, Kris- where’s the one that goes from upper left to bottom right? ?o/

    I feel so left out….

  56. momof2kitties says:

    @ Katrina:

Mine’s three spaces to the right of “p”. \o/

  57. Yes, Hon Glad- unless you wish us to restart our wonderful conversation on the “Museum That is Open 5 days out of 30″, I suggest you just let it rest… is that ok with you? *snert*

OOOh,thanks momof2kitties-you have empowered me, and reminded me to call about my new glasses tomorrow \o/, wow, that was fun!

  58. Totalee Puppy says:

\o/ I think this works! “Puppies in Glasses” might have
potential for a hot new toy this holiday
season…Might also be a morale-booster for little kids who just found out they need glasses…

  59. A T E R R I F I C way to help kids wear their glasses, Totalee Puppy!

  60. Who will be wearing these vintage ebay beauties forever and ever? Me. Thanks to the most awesome Cute Overload obsessive and friend a gal could ask for.

I think a photo shoot with these frames and my dog, Moosie, are required.

Chris D. Thank you for my spectacles… You’re the besticles.

  61. dose the dog come with the glasses!!!!(i hope he dose)
