Some days they don’t grow up fast enough! Poor mama. My dog had a litter of 10 once. She had that same look.

Maybe you smart CO peeps can clear something up for me. Is it “Why-mah-rahr-ner” or “Why-mah-RYE-ner”? I’ve heard the second pron. used quite frequently, even though there’s no “i” or “y” in the third syllable. Judges?
She looks like one of those Southern belles fluffed down on the lawn with her hoop skirt around her .. anyway she does to me. Beautiful!! But yes… a mint julep or two, please, she looks like she needs one.
And .. @wagthedogma,I’ve only heard pron. # 1 “why-ma-rah-ner” but I’m no expert.

I think why-mah-rye-ner is the Anglicized version of it. Being a German word, it’s probably really pronounced vy-mah-rah-ner.
Don’t worry mommy doggeh, you still got it. It’s all in the attitude, and the young bucks are very much into the BILFs. (It’s a dirty acronym — sorry, I’m a guy).

This is our mama dog, Roxie. It is her first litter and THEY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE!! She had 10 babies – she went to visit the sketch artist 5X. She has a naughty side to her! The puppies are officially weaned today. Rox has so much more energy.
PS – She’s nowhere near to skinny, nor has she ever been. She counter surfs too much to be on the lean side. I lost an entire roast once when I left the kitchen for a potty break.
An ENTIRE roast? I bet she’s not that gaunt anymore. I hope she still has her kitchen duties and isn’t in the stockades to the right.
BTW Mike, “At least the ‘only a few minutes’ part was honest, grr” At least we’re talking entire minutes here.

She isn’t in the stockade in the right of the picture. She is my favorite dog. I can say that online because my other dog is old, has cataracts, and can’t read. My weim is indoors dining on roast, like any other dog, right?
The babies go in the kennel 2 or 3 times a day to give mama a break. Everyone sleeps indoors at night.
And, yes, we put the babies in the doll clothes. That’s the kind of thing that should be done over summer vacation, me, the three kids, the babies, and the clothes. We laughed until we cried.
Ugly mugs was for our Kauai pictures and the rest were added later. What can I say? I was referring to US, not the dogs!!
I’m so happy for you Cindy! What fun, and such a beautiful mama and babies to have in your life.

Your weimaraner counter surfs too? (Love the phrase, btw.) Ours is getting up there in years, but she makes sure to save plenty of energy for stealing the butter from the butter dish as often as possible.
Cindy, I am so glad to hear that Mommadog is fine and dandy. No extra calories needed by a dog who knows what she wants! I got a Corgi- no counter surfing possible, but my floors are bright and shiny with dog-spit.
The babies are beautiful thank you so much for sharing them with the world.

glad to see i’m not the only one that dress(ed) up their pets in doll clothes, (although they would take me away if i did that now….) i love the pictures!
one silly question, if mama dog only has 8 ‘feeding stations’ and there are 10 puppehs. how do you make sure everyone is getting enough to eat? do you suppliment their diet with something?
About the feeding stations
– The puppies were on milk only for the first 3 weeks or so. Then we added soft. The ones that weren’t hooked up to a “faucet” would claw one another out of the way for a turn. Also when mama would shift, some would “lose suction” and fall off :0 and others would move on in. Everyone ended up getting enough to eat. They are weaned now.

I am not to be thanked for posting this picture, but a fellow cyclist friend is. She thought the picture was a winner. I am glad she posted because reading the comments has been fun and memorable. The day that Roxie had her puppies I rode my first century ride (100 miles) (on a bike, the kind with pedals). I got a play by play of puppy delivery on the cell phone as I was out riding. Roxie had 1 puppy to commemorate every 10 miles I rode that day. A very generous way to make my day. Maybe in her own way she was thanking me for that roast she snuck off of the counter earlier in the year. I think at the end of the day we were both equally exhausted!
sigh……. i’m sorry i didn’t say anything else of substance. just got toooooo excited about the prospect of FURST on cuteoverload of all places!
