Imperial Alpacas

by Meg on July 25, 2008

Have arrived and are going to sniff this situation out.

Just stand still and they should pass over you in a second.

They only travel in a massive, sniffing mob, Nancy A. Snorf.

I’m sorry, but those are clearly *zombie* alpacas.

When God made alpacas he was clearly laughng his *** off.

6 Suzanne 07.25.08 at 4:20 pm

OMG…the music totally makes this clip!

7 Not That Mike The Other Mike 07.25.08 at 4:21 pm

Did I just type “brans”? DURRRR!

8 Theo 07.25.08 at 4:27 pm

Dude, it’s not like they need the fiber.

9 Christine H 07.25.08 at 4:28 pm

The Star Wars music totally made that video.

10 Elaine 07.25.08 at 4:33 pm

How cute yet utterly creepy all at the same time….

11 Not That Mike The Other Mike 07.25.08 at 4:33 pm

“You don’t need to see his identification.”

“BLEEAAAT, BAAAAA.”

“These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.”

“BAAA, BAAAA, BLEEEAT, BAAA.”

“He can go about his business.”

“BAAA BLEEEAAT, BAAA MEH-EH-EH-EH.”

“Move along.”

“BAAAAAAAAAAAA.”"

12 Erebella 07.25.08 at 4:43 pm

Oh wow – The Alpacial March – how totally awesome! Would insert a perfect Spaceballs quote here, but can’t remember it well enough.

13 Kristi 07.25.08 at 4:50 pm

That actually was a little scary..

And those aren’t Alpacas! Those are clearly Samoyed dogs, geez…:P

NTMTOM, Here, have some breakfast. *passes you a bowl of bran flakes*

14 marie_n 07.25.08 at 4:51 pm

this is a video from the 80s and obviously it was a humid day because their fluffy bangs have gone so very flat.

one of them actually looks like a lady that works for my company, in the part that sits in a room at a desk answering phones and is never actually seen by our customers. thank goodness, because she has the flat fluffy bangs and looks like a football demolished her face like that one episode of the brady bunch. “oh my nose!”

15 Erebella 07.25.08 at 4:51 pm

Did anyone watch the Ode to Joy video in there with Beeker from the Muppets??? Omigod, that’s funny!

16 Brak_Silverbone 07.25.08 at 5:04 pm

If aliens ever come to Earth, I hope they land in a field full of alpacas, and I hope this is the first thing they see approaching their shiny silver spaceship.

17 claudia 07.25.08 at 5:06 pm

RUUUUUN!

lol that was cute and funny :D

18 Vampy 07.25.08 at 5:19 pm

I lurve Alpacas! When I grow up, I’m going to start a yarn farm with alpacas, goats, sheep and other assorted fibre bearing cuties (who will then all be spoiled rotten and given CO worthy names. Like Noodles. My next cat shall be named Noodles. Or Pa-sickie.)

19 dub1 07.25.08 at 5:32 pm

I believe I’ve just been gang-disapproved-of . . .

20 Chasing the Dog 07.25.08 at 5:34 pm

Funny stuff. I love the seizure inducing camera work.

21 Shaz 07.25.08 at 5:44 pm

Yessssss, this just made my morning. The inquisitive looks plus the music. Yes!

22 Dexter Fishmore 07.25.08 at 6:05 pm

Weren’t Like and Han riding these fellas on Hoth?

23 Dexter Fishmore 07.25.08 at 6:06 pm

Correction: Luke and Han.

The typing… she no happen so good.

24 (the original) Mel 07.25.08 at 6:07 pm

You know, the perfect end to that video would have been the cameraman falling to the ground, overwhelmed by the curiosity of the bran-seeking zombie alpacas.

Zombies need their fiber.

25 jmuhj 07.25.08 at 6:10 pm

*HELLLLP MII OBI-WAN KENOBI!*

26 cheesybird 07.25.08 at 6:13 pm

Zombie, bran-eating, alpaca stormtroopers of death.

Wearing pantaloons.

27 doomchild 07.25.08 at 6:26 pm

Oh noes, they’re coming for me! I’ll be abducted to their alpaca-land, and they’ll snozzle me everyday and make that humming alpaca-sound and force me to pat their furry heads… Ooo I’m going to heaven, bb!

28 Katrina 07.25.08 at 6:29 pm

(the original) Mel- with apologies, I have seen the bottom side of alpacas, and well, it is just as well to see the top side of alpacas.
The photographer saved us all a big EWWWW. Eeeeewww. Think the bottom side of sheep, yeah, that’s it.
Zombie, bran-eating,filthy-dirty alpaca stormtroopers of death. Thanks again cheesybird.

29 cheesybird 07.25.08 at 6:35 pm

Don’t forget the pantaloons, Katrina. :p

30 DKN 07.25.08 at 7:11 pm

wow its like something out of a really cute nightmare.

31 Kris 07.25.08 at 7:12 pm

ZBEFDASToDwP are a pretty interested lot, aren’t they? They have serious mob mentality going on there.

32 Patty P 07.25.08 at 7:38 pm

EEEEEE! Walks!

(ewoks?)

33 dangster 07.25.08 at 7:43 pm

Dexter, oh yes, except that they were tauntauns:

Han: “This may smell bad kid, but it’ll keep you warm until I get the shelter up . . . Ugh. And I thought they smelled bad on the *outside*.”

34 Cait 07.25.08 at 7:55 pm

You forgot the dramatic pause, dangster. “Ugh. And I thought they smelled bad . . . on the outside!”

35 gl. 07.25.08 at 8:20 pm

man, when they were walking up at least one of those alpacas looked like WINSTON!

36 Bagpipe_mouse 07.25.08 at 8:26 pm

“Aren’t you a little fluffy for a storm-trooper?”

37 Theresa 07.25.08 at 9:01 pm

When the camera goes up in the air over their heads at the end, does that mean that the camera person has been dragged down and over-shnorgled?

38 warrior rabbit 07.25.08 at 10:14 pm

@erebella, yes, I watched the Ode to Joy (and emailed it to everyone I know), and then followed it with the even more hysterical Habanera. I had tears running down my face. You must watch it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDFgtFXfnv0

39 BitBucket 07.25.08 at 10:30 pm

These are not the droids you are looking for. Move along.

40 Theresa 07.25.08 at 10:42 pm

Erebella, is that a stash of new Muppet material? I hadn’t seen any of that before!!!
“Meep meep meep meep”

41 BeanSidhe 07.25.08 at 11:26 pm

To quote Robin Willams…
“Tom Waits once said there’s no devil. It’s just God when he drinks. So if God drinks, do you think he ever gets stoned once in a while? Look at a platypus. I think after that you’d think he might.”

So alpacas are proof that God stays up too late playing Gears of War?

42 Gail (the first one) 07.26.08 at 1:03 am

@Erebella and warrior-rabbit: LOL!!! Thanks for the links!!

43 Charlie 07.26.08 at 1:19 am

LOLpacas

44 Wbirdie 07.26.08 at 2:18 am

llama llama ding dong! XD

45 LesbianNeoCon 07.26.08 at 2:21 am

That was probably the funniest thing I’ve ever seen here!!! SUPERB!!!

46 boaks 07.26.08 at 2:55 am

OMG I watched it without the music and thought I was watching a horror movie. It could do with some soundtrack from The Shining or even Jaws, though Star Wars does work very nicely.

47 berthaservant 07.26.08 at 7:23 am

NTM kind of took my thunder on this one, but my caption would be:

“These aren’t the fuzzy sweaters you are looking for.”

FWIW. Great vid.

48 Barbarella 07.26.08 at 9:34 am

They should audition for the next Star Wars film, hahahahah! ;)

49 Amanda 07.26.08 at 11:08 am

“…Something, Something, Darkside… Something, Something, Complete…”

50 Katrina 07.26.08 at 11:27 am

OOh-Oooh, I went to the link and played around and found a few Muppet Classical music renditions. Thn catch the Valencia School choir doing Bach and more. Very well done.

Thread hijack is anyone else’s dog ‘throwing his.her coat” now? How long does this last? We brush and we brush and we brush…there is enough on there for another dog! OR, is that the point?
Back to Alpacas, which were put here to amuse and warm us all. The humming is ‘just too too’. Imagine if alpacas did that, no I can’t right now, I’m up to my ankles in Corgi.

51 Katrina 07.26.08 at 11:29 am

Yes, cheesybird, ‘pantaloons of fury’.

52 marie_n 07.26.08 at 3:04 pm

katrina you need the furminator. srsly.

53 Katrina 07.26.08 at 3:44 pm

marie_n, oh, please, speak to me of furminator-is it a Zen mind-set, a yoga stance or an appliance? pphtpthtptpthp!

54 marie_n 07.26.08 at 3:55 pm

katrina – it’s a brush that gets the most hair off of a dog/cat/whatever ev-ar. they’re somewhat costly but well worth it if you have a furbaby that sheds like crazy.

55 Paunchie 07.26.08 at 4:17 pm

Did anybody else notice their KNEES???!!! Omgosh. And, how can they see? Are they just following their noses? I bet that person had a big thing of alpaca kibble.

56 Annie 07.26.08 at 4:21 pm

Katrina another little trick that gets a ton of the hair out is to bathe the dog and then brush or comb you get tons out that way too. I guess when the hair is wet it clumps better or something because you get a good 70 % of it out in one fell swoop. but plan on having to brush for a good half hour. Also the furminator is excellent when they are in shed mode

57 jenjen 07.26.08 at 4:50 pm

I for one welcome our wooly overlords.

58 Katrina 07.26.08 at 9:20 pm

We’ll just keep an eye out for you, jenjen-if you get into trouble, use the CO sign!

59 Katrina 07.26.08 at 9:25 pm

Annie- and marie_n–thanks, I can’t bathe her alone- I guess it is grooming time. The last time the groomer was really nasty and even said”There was enough fur for another dog!” Time for a new groomer, I guess. Why wouldn’t she know that the puppeh as doing her annual Corgi-as-carpet thing? The Vet says Abbey’s perfectly healthy, she just has a LOT of fur, even for a Corgula.
I remember one of our peeps calling it Corgi-tweed-yes, that is just what it is, it is like plaster dust- it gets everywhere! Time for a grooming! Thanks everyone for my hijacking.

60 Marie 07.26.08 at 11:27 pm

Dig the Alpaca invasion! More please. Where’s parts 2 and 3?

61 carmen 07.27.08 at 12:44 am

omg… love the star wars music.

62 slythwolf 07.27.08 at 9:29 am

Hand me the clippers AND RUN FOR YOUR LIIIIIIIIIVES!

63 marie_n 07.27.08 at 7:16 pm

katrina- my beagle is named abbie. howwww adorable! she was shedding like mad when we first got her but that was all out of anxiety i believe, but she knew she’d been rescued from people that didn’t want her and she loved us so it was ok. she’s doing fabulous now and she is as healthy as a mini-horse. i’m glad your abbey is doing well and i hope that you do a little research on the furminator because it seems like you’d get some good use out of it.

64 cat 07.28.08 at 6:42 am

Yay for disapproving alpacas!

65 Katrina 07.28.08 at 4:03 pm

phtpthtuppthtppttht- we’re still pthtutthhttpy here! Thanks for the thhtpopughhtpsttht thoughts.

I’m gonna get the doggeh groooooooomed.

Next year, in the Furminator!
Or is that “Next year in Jerusalem”? She’ll shed just as much over there. (Jewish joke-sorry to leave anyone out-every year at new year we say that we all want to be in Jerusalem the next year for the new year holiday-it’s a sentimental solidarity thing, I guess).

66 KnittingKel 07.30.08 at 10:25 pm

That is so funny. Love the Music!
