Black and white and viewed all over

From the cartoon kitteh genius Simon Tofield, comes the third installment of our favorite annoying Kitteh who points at his mouth for eats. Oh, and Simon’s other awesome cartoons are below, just in case you missed ‘em the first time around ’cause you’re living under a rock or something.

Simon is part of Tandem Films, a very talented UK-based animations outfit.

  1. Paunchie says:

    FIRST!

  2. catablob says:

Simon must be spying on my cats for artistic inspiration.

  3. Paunchie says:

    and — CAT BUTT!

the guy needs a squirt gun.

  4. binky-mama says:

This guy truly understands the feline mind. Why, oh WHY do they insist on sitting in your lap and looking cute enough to break your heart when you are running late or trying to do something important? Then when you want to cuddle they give you the cold shoulder. [sigh]

This guy is truly a genius.

  5. Yep, that’s life with a cat all right.

  6. Love that cat!!!

Are we sure his name is not Winston?

  7. BeanSidhe says:

    Did anyone see the Paws-up?

    And Winston is MUCH louder.

  8. Beth (in NC) says:

OMG I have totally been living under a rock!! I didn’t know that there were THREE!!! Sooooo funny.

  9. These always make me laugh, and they keep getting funnier.

And Teho, really? Are you going to let Paunchie get away with that? REALLY?

  10. Wonderful, are humans that slow or our feline freinds that fast at turning off our tv sets ????

Can’t wait for the next one

  11. OMG, that is so dead on!!! I love this guy’s stuff! My cat has soooooo done some of those things. Thanks so much for a good laugh!

  12. I love love love the second one. Hi-freakin-LARIOUS!!!

  13. A-ha ha! I *love* this guy’s work! My cat was doing that same damn thing to my while I was trying to watch the video!

Cats everywhere have been thoroughly punked by Simon! LOL

  14. absolutely the best cat cartoons ever. Move aside Heathclif, Garfield, Sylvester, …new player in town. This guy certainly understands cats. Bravo!

  15. wow, what an awesome Cute Overload day!! So many wonderful posts :)

  16. Darkflame says:

Yay! A new cartoon! I laughed so hard through that, so my cat XD hahahahaha! Loved it!

  17. That made me guffaw quite loudly. It always fascinates me that my 8 pound cat can push me off a sofa or bed and I can do nothing to stop her.

  18. oh I love you for the heads up! I’ve been waiting for the next Simon’s Cat video with baited breath, they’re AWESOME!

  19. Dude, that artist must have set up shop in my living room before drawing that one

  20. I SWEAR that guy comes to my house and bases his cartoons on my cat, Chloe. I laughed so hard, because this is what I go through on a daily basis!

  21. FrozenExtremities says:

    New fave cartoon.

Incidentally, my cat’s name happens to be Simon, and that’s him to a T.

  22. hehehe I love the dot for the kitty poop chute!!

  23. I’m so happy he made another video. Hilarious! I called my mom and sister as soon as I saw it posted here. This is my Ivy dead-on. :)

  24. chanpon says:

Cat butt in face – how does that become innate in cats? I have not met one cat yet who doesn’t like to shove his/her fuzzy rear within inches of your head.

  25. Hilarious! I needed a good laugh. My kitty, Data, does the same things…except she bites my ankles if i continue to ignore her. It’s hard to ignore her then.

  26. Melissa H. says:

Me! Me! Pay attention to me!! Even bad attention is better than no attention at all. That’s how it is at my house. And butt-in-the-face, too.

  27. I love so many things about these clips. The cat-scratched furniture, the way he accomondates the comfy kitten in his lap, and the way he ignores the kitty while watching out the corner of his eye.

I’ve got a baby who “incidently” sits in front of the tv, blocking the view when she wants something.

Plus, my father’s cat could come into the living room, just look at me in the big chair, and I knew to sit on the floor. Cat owners know who’s the alpha and omega.

PS – I LOVE that kitty with the round curves and plaintive meow.

  28. Maerlyn99 says:

Nothing could be closer to the truth…

  29. So cute, but that dude needs to assert himself with his cat. They are conveniently sized for manually removing from your lap or spot on the couch :)

  30. RevWaldo says:

“Piss off you stupid cat! It’s the All Star Game! It’ll be over soon!”

    “13th..inning…no fud since..8:00…dying….”

  31. doxnsox says:

    Well that solidifies it.
I am and always will be a dog person.

  32. caroline says:

    Awesome.
    Simon you rock!

  33. These series’s cartoon always making me laugh~!!
    So so real!

  34. Paunchie says:

How come when I gleefully posted FIRST! it does not show up any more??? Is it because I suggested a squirt gun??

[Your "squirt gun" comment hasn't been unpublished, Paunchie. - Ed.]
    http://www.squidgrid.com/cute/Glossary.htm#FP

  35. ROFL…. that new video is totally our Stewie when he wants attention. So hilariously adorable.

  36. Yes, Simon knows kittehs!

Ours has/have done all of these things. Maybe not the thumb on the remote, but they do change channels. So often that hubby called that punch line just before it happened!

Simon needs TiVo so he can pause the game and go feed Round Meowing Cat.

And now I must go feed my kittehs, who are acting like this.

  37. LOL I love these and the latest one is awesome Makes me laugh every time!

  38. There are rules against that sort of thing, Paunchie!

It’s been said by all, but yes, this is my life, too. In fact, I’m on the cowsche, watching TV, typing on my laptop with Bertha sleeping behind me. And she’s always trying to claw our leather sofas.

  39. #2 especially. My cat, Geronimo, who is going on 18 years, does not and will not leave me alone in bed. When I was growing up, I would have to hide myself under the covers with just a little breathing hole because he would find a way to stick a paw and/or his face in. Speaking of, I hear his food meow right now… and he just got fed.

These are all so true, it hurts. *squishes the annoyance out of him*

  40. Juniper Jupiter says:

I, too, love what happens at 0:40…CAT BUTT COOTIES IN THE FACE!!! :D

  41. Kendally says:

I point at my mouth for eats too :D

Also, I enjoy the fact that someone who doesn’t like cats would view these cartoons as reasons to back up their opinion, whereas anyone who has or loves cats will have their affection strengthened.

  42. Cheryl-Lee says:

The bit that makes me crack up is the guy getting off the seat and the cat suddenly stretching out to fill the whole settee! My old cat Tom did that, and he filled the sette big time, he was a loooooong cat God bless him x

  43. Great cartoon! I simply love the whole series. The author shows a deep knowledge of cat’s psychology too! :))

  44. I love Simon T. A man who understands cats like that…where do you find one?

  45. Oh my kitties do ALL of this (except hold a gnome up to the door as they are strictly indoor kitties). If you were reading the news paper, Kitters would also come up…push/walk down your paper against your chest then lay down on top of it. NOTHING…deserves your attention but HER!

  46. Patricia says:

Yeh, my two do a lot of the same things. I just wish they would stop putting their butts in my face. I’d rather have their stinky cat breath any day.

  47. dottie_jean28 says:

My shih tzu, dottie does the throw me off the couch thing…and when i go to lay back down shes there all in my spot and when I Try to pick her up….she stretches her whole length, rolls back and forth and looks at me.

  48. Just darling, each one of them.

  49. This set of cartoons just helped me decide for whom I will vote for President in November — Mr. Tofield!

I can’t decide which of two moments is my ultra favorite psychoanalysis of cat strategy: his willing the cellphone (out of reach) to ring … or his showing up at the dratted closed door, brandishing a baseball bat when not admitted inside quickly enough. Laughed out loud throughout all three segments. Guess I’ve been under a rock. Thanks Meg & Simon for bringing me out from under it so enjoyably!!!

  50. I call foul on the notion that a cat will, however briefly, stop meowing when the human says “Shhhh.” In my house, it is an invitation to step up the volume and frequency. Otherwise, spot on.

  51. These cartoons are brilliant! I laugh every time I watch them.

  52. Erebella says:

That guy is brilliant! Every little gesture and mew is so well thought out and portrayed – it’s just spot on! Fun stuff!

And Aby, I have a kitty like that named Chloe as well. She’s an ocicat, though, so she meows quite a bit louder than that. :)

  53. Seven Paws says:

    The man is a genius!

I was watching this at my desk in an office, with tears running down my face from laughing (silently of course)

The cat stretch at the end is perfect!

  54. Katie Kat says:

Thank you SO much for posting these! This is by FAR my favorite cat comic. Seriously, Simon is a genius. I laugh out loud every time I watch these, and today I NEEDED IT! :)

  55. Kathleen says:

    I just love these “cartoons”!

  56. twoferrets says:

These are awesome… love the look on the guys face when kitty is doing the alarm-like meowing directly in his ear. We have one that does that (but who doesn’t!).

  57. ashagato says:

    simon, are you married? ;)

  58. Michelle says:

These aren’t cartoons, they are documentaries!

    I absolutely LOVE these.

  59. I laughed right out loud at the snapping when kitty was scratching away at the couch. I do that too! Too funny! I was waiting for the next one!! hehe

  60. claudia says:

Ahhhahahaha, soo funny true to life, and I HOWLED at the dot for butt!

  61. riolinda says:

Love these!! These are my cats to a t! Always trying to bother me when I’m watching tv. ha-ha!

  62. i love these cartoons. they are so cute and funny.

i love the kitty’s butt! lol

  63. My mom will love this one. Our cat is notoriously weird and clingy too! Love these cartoons! <3

  64. why did not ever pet the cat. He wouldn’ be so contrary if you just pet him.

  65. Best part was that while I was watching this and laughing my butt off, my cat came to investigate and kept trying to get pettings and whatnot while I was trying to watch. It was surreal to be watching the same thing both on the computer and in real life. Of course, now that the clip is over and I’m ready for lovings, she’s sitting all prim and pissed at me. Of course.

  66. catablob says:

    Berthaservant thank you.
I had not thought of that little owl faced kitteh:
“On de cowsche. On de blankie on de cowsche’ for at least a couple of days.

  67. Catsquatch says:

That dude has a camera in my house somewhere….
Im goin to find it, I swear, and when I do…..

  68. Brak_Silverbone says:

Anyone who has a cat will be familiar with most of these behaviors–although thankfully none of mine have ever resorted to breaking a window.

  69. Paunchie says:

Aw, Man! I didn’t know the firsties rule. Ouch! I got slapped!

I’m gonna go snorgle a skunk.

  70. Wear your snorgoggles.

  71. Simon’s Cat is THE BEST.

Dr. Anne, how ’bout you and me going out prowling for guys like that? I need one, too, despurrately.

  72. The only thing that would have made that video even more perfect is if the cat would have bit the guys toes. Then I would have been convinced the artist is spying on us.

  73. Monique in TX says:

Great! But this is missing three patented kitty maneuvers: sitting on the back of the sofa and nibbling the hair, jumping from the back of the sofa onto the full bladder/tender crotch, and clinging to the disappearing lap as you try to stand. My Mir can hold on until I am almost completely standing.

  74. sunnymum says:

The newest cartoon made me laugh out loud so hard that one of my bosses came in to my office with a “WTF” look on his face. I tried to explain that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud since the artist captured cats behavior so perfectly, but my boss just walked away. I think his point was, get back to work. Ah well, it was worth it!

  75. Redfox in Tx says:

    Perfection!

  76. This is my Elliott, spot on. The best way I have of getting him to stop meowing at me is to imitate his meowing back to him, ending with a final MeeeoooooooWWWW! He gives a look of defeat after that, and stops…..

Now, if only I could find a way of getting him to stop coming to my bed to wake me up at 4:30am every morning. When I ignore him, he tries to get my attention by pushing things off my nightstand table. I don’t mind when the kleenex box and my book go, but he knows as soon as I hear the alarm clock-telephone-lamp start to slide across the table, he has my attention :P

  77. saucy bernaise says:

BWAHAHAHAHA! I just spewed saliva all over my computer screen. The asleep in bed with kitty who wants attention fits my kitty Marley to a tee. I swear he must have watched these cartoons for pointers, while I was asleep.

  78. Carolina2 says:

It’s all been said by now! This guy is a genius, who absolutely knows cats. We all recognised our own cats in these. (Especially the cat butt in face move!) There is little here that my cats don’t do, that’s what’s so wonderful about these. Thanks for posting.

  79. These videos crack me up each time. It’s all too true

  80. I’d love to see a picture of the cat that inspired these cartoons! Nobody ever portrays the cat sigh! And I love the little dot butt!

  81. Ms.Scarlet says:

Wow. This is so perfect; it would be like my house if you multiplied it by 6. Brilliant short animations. Now I’m emailing them to my friends! : D

  82. Katrina says:

Erebella- You have an ocicat? Oh, puuuullllleeeesse tell us about it- got any pictuytures?
How big, how old, how did you get it- when will you ship it to me here in the Ireland of the Northeast-temprement, food prefs, the works.

  83. Simon’s cat must be a Siamese. :-) Named Sebastian. Who lives in Oregon. With me. :-)

  84. I wouldn’t know what to do with a cat that affectionate. I would kill for half that amount of attention, but I think it’s the other way around in my house. :(

  85. Our cat (the one who will sit on laps) seems to like to scare the crap outta me by taking a silent flying leap to the top of the computer chair, right behind my head, and trilling when she lands (that is, when the chair suddenly jerks back for no apparent reason).

  86. Glix- if only. I bet your cat just does it because it feels good. Cats are narcesecistists (Ok, can’t spell it)and only do things that feel good. The Olympics is coming up- try to get her interested in those!

  87. OK class, settle down… It’s “narcissists”, after the ancient Greek:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissus_(mythology)

I once stenciled a T-shirt to say “TϩIϩϩI)ЯAИ”. Stencils are easy to flip.

  88. Katrina says:

    Thank you, Purrrfessor.

  89. deniseee says:

    Simon is excellent………
but I almost had an bathroom accident watching these video’s!

  90. kathaclysm says:

Reminds me of the old Dan Haskett cartoon from sesame street, it was always my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBlsAKXvpd0
