At the Tuscadero State Asylum for Supervillains

"Exxxxxxxx-cellent!  My hypno-mind-control ray is almost complete.  The fools at the science academy, they all said that I was mad — MAD, I tell you!  But soon they ALL will bow down before me!  MWAH-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaa!"

... and we can start with that orderly who keeps short-sheeting my bed.

Might want to up the dosage a little, Tiffany G.

  1. THis is how I look every morning (except for the biting). Shall I join Mr/Ms Kitty in the asylum? I’ll bring cuddles.

  2. Craaaaazzzzzzzzzy kitteh alert!

(thankfully craaaaaazzzzzy kittehs also fall victim to insta-nap, which allows us to snorgle them safely)

  3. Katrina says:

A cat for the ages. (shhudders)

  4. I would keep that sucker far away from me.

  5. They’re coming to take me away, ha-haaa.
They’re coming to take me away, ho ho, he he, ha ha,
To the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time…

    Scary kitty!!!!

[Kris, the way I recall it, that little ditty’s not about a cat… – Ed.]

  6. I’ll take one billeeon dohlars! waa-haa-haa…

    btw–Kris…love the Dr.D reference

  7. Perhaps it’s about a dog then?

I cooked your food, I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind, unselfish loving deeds? Huh?
Well, you just wait–they’ll find you yet
And when they do they’ll put you in the
    ASPCA you mangy mutt!

  8. sarahjeanne says:

It’s Amy Winehouse without her hair hat!

  9. That kitty isnt crazy. It’s practing its attack mode. I would say there are either fingers or toes wiggling under that blanket. Kitty is ker thud cute.

  10. 260Oakley says:

OK, the kitty clearly needs to check in to blankethab. He can hang out with the boxhab kittens while he dries out.

  11. I propose a “Cute or Scary?” category. This isn’t the first time I’ve thought that way about a CO picture.

  12. Ai AM in lurve. *SQUEEEEE*

  13. Erebella says:

    It’s Catanova Frankenstein.

  14. chanpon says:

He does look like he came straight out of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, but he’s still a cutie. I guess I like my cats a little bit psycho.

  15. Theresa says:

    Pinky Tuscadero??

  16. I’ll bet this kitteh sounds like Peter Lorre.

  17. marie_n says:

that monologue got a theme stuck in my head:

it’s pinky, it’s pinky and the brain, brain, brain, brain, brain!

    [Narf… – Ed.]

  18. marie_n says:

oh and the angle of the picture is so nice that you can see the ear flaps of this key-key. i love playing with aminal ear flaps (the little slits in the outer edge of the ear that all kitties and doggies have that i assume have no purpose except to intrigue me and make me poke poke the flap).

little key-key is so pointy, from the nose to the ears! even the markings on the face are making an arrow to create more pointednessosity. and the teeth! what pointy teeth key-key has!

  19. Theresa says:

“Supervillains”– makes me think of Wile E. Coyote with his business card. “Wile E.Coyote, Super-Genius! Wile. E. Coyote, Suuuuu-perrrrrrr Geeeeee-nius!”

  20. I love that he even has a little hospital-type band as his collar.

  21. Pogonip says:

Might loosen that collar on that poor kitteh! Would make me a leetle crazy…

  22. Erebella says:

Did anyone get my Mystery Men reference? Silly movie, I know, but it had its moments and it had a cool cast. Geoffrey Rush was great.

  23. Ah, the evil kitten stage. I remember when my two boys were like that… biting my toes in the middle of the night, knocking down our curtains at least twice a day, and eating the flower bouquets on the table…
*Sigh.* They just grow up too fast these days. =)

  24. What are you doing tonight kitty…same thing I do every Monday nigth…I going to try to take over the world.. muhahhah

  25. scooterpants says:

luv em when they’re like this… as they tear across the room, up the recliner which hits the wall, across the end table, half way up the wall paper, latch’in on to the curtains to the top … flying across the room to the love seat, directly thru the dining room and down the hall, under the most accessible bed to await their next ‘victim’.

  26. Boomer's Babysitter says:

Reminds me of a cat I knew named Spazz. The name said it all. She, however, grew out of it – and yes, Rowan, it happens too fast. And Rachel, good to notice the hospital collar! Missed that. Very appropriate!

  27. sunnymum says:

Egads! Loosen the collar for Pete’s sake (er, for crazy cat’s sake)!!!

  28. No worries, SunnyMum — they’re spindly little things at this age. The fur hides it a little, but the kitten’s not being choked or anything.

  29. that is some wild and craazy kitteh! Also extremely cute, and needs to have his necktie loosened. I’d be nutsy, too, If my collar were that tight.

  30. Am I the only one who sees the resemblance to Sonic the Hedgehog?

  31. Crazy kitteh, for sure! Love it.

My Nala is still crazy and no longer a kitten. She runs around the house, crazy, growling, and just being a mini-terror. I love her dearly though, and wouldn’t trade her for a “normal” kitteh.

  32. Erebella says:

“Normal” kitteh……….haha, that’s a good one. Is that like military intelligence?

  33. The more I look at this picture, the more I want this kitteh!

  34. wagthedogma says:

I for one would like to know what that poor pink blankie did to deserve a supervillian hypno-mind-control ray attack!

  35. I love the upswept angle of the ears, making kitteh look even MORE crazy! I’ll bet this is a beeyootiful kitteh when he’s not all “conquer-the-world” and everything.

  36. I thought that this was a shelter baby but then, they tend to use collars to color-code the sexes. Wherever this is, I hope that little one has a good home to go to at the end of the day.

Those markings are incredible but they remind me of freakin’ Tigra of the thundercats.

  37. BeanSidhe says:

D’you think this kitty has a Disco Room in his cat condo?
    Cuz I do.

“Well, look who it is. Baby Bowler.”

  38. Erebella says:

“Disco is NOT dead! Disco is LIFE!” Eddie Izzard rocks! And I met the guy who plays The Sphinx. And I like Janeane Garofalo (whose dad’s name really is Carmine), and William H. Macy, and Paul Rueben (though not really in this role). “There’s not enough beer in the world, Spleen. sorry.”

  39. Erebella says:

P.S.: I knew I’d like you just by your name “Fairy woman”

  40. Is there any way we can get some pictures of this kitty when he/she isn’t all psycho crazy? Not that I don’t love it when my kitties get their “call of the wild” episodes… but this kitty looks like it’s absolutely gorgeous!

  41. Aww, looks just like my polydactyl girl Gravy. I love when they go into Crazy Kitty Mode.

  42. I think that kitty’s collar is TOO tight. That’s why it looks upset.

  43. BeanSidhe says:

    You met WES STUDI?

And is it just me or was Macy weirdly hot in that flick?

    Oh, yeah. KITTEH!!!11!!

  44. Erebella says:

Yeah, Macy was totally cool in that and the “tuna salad” speech he gave was great. Yeah, Wes is from Oklahoma and I saw him at a Coney Islander in Tulsa and stopped to talk to him as he left. He was extremely nice. Hey, remember the hair spray/flame thrower that Eddie Izzard had? That was his idea and the prop crew just made it for him. Cool or what?

Yeah, that kitteh has had one too many double espressos, methinks.

  45. Aw hell. Even Tom Waits had a weird “I’m on the make” kind of groove.

    Wait, he always has that.

  46. AlbertaGirl says:

Erebella – I caught the reference right away, but am sadly late to the party. MM is one of my favourite movies ever, and not just because Tom Waits plays a mad scientist in it! Although that alone would have been enough. The entire movie is sheer genius. My favourite – the Blue Raja! On why he only throws forks and spoons, and not knives: “I’m not Stab-Man, I’m not Knifey-Boy…”

  47. Seven Paws says:

or as we sing at my house…
    “Psycho kitty, quesque c’est?”

  48. In just a moment he’s probably going to be running frantically around the room. I adore him – he looks like he’s lots of fun….all mischief.

  49. BeanSidhe says:

Tom Waits is going to be in St. Louis but the tickets are $80 apiece. I pout.

    “WaffleMan! I’m the Waffler!”

Suddenly I have the urge to get a mini-skullball for my kitties.

  50. Erebella says:

Ha, remember that ballerina guy? That was funny! And “What’s up tiger lily?” That dorky movie only worked because of the cool cast. And Geoffrey Rush! You gotta love him! “Get up, get down, and boogie!”

  51. BeanSidhe says:

As a dance teacher, I snorted up my soda at BallerinaMan. And I think movie theater soda has an extra ingredient that causes MAJOR nasal burn.
Erebella and I are related, methinks.

  52. Dead ringer for my new kitten Athena. Mad expression and all.

  53. Erebella says:

Yeah, how can I contact you outside of here, long lost sister?

Also, picturing kitty in Frankenstein’s lab with that face. A little hunch-backed kitty helping him. “It’s ALIVE!”

  54. Love the kuh-razed look in the eye. Great shot! Hee!

  55. or as we sing at my house…
    “Psycho kitty, quesque c’est?”
SevenPaws, that’s been known to happen at my house, too.
    Oh, and happy Bastille Day!

  56. Oooooooo! Kitteh on a Luge! (gearing up for the Olympics!) Wind blowing the ears, eyes, and moufs back! Freeeeeeedom!!!

  57. Mary (the first) says:

This kitteh looks like the one in the comic strip .. “Rose is Rose”.

  58. This kitty freaks me out…:-P

  59. Daphne Moss says:

All kittehs have that expression sometimes…It’s just “I’m a serious predator, dammit…DON’T try nothin or it’s ON…”

  60. Mewtwo sez: Behold my powers! I am the most powerful Pokémon in the WORLD!!11!

  61. ashagato says:

pinky tuscadero! we all wanted to be her. damn she was cool…

the first thing i thought of, too, theresa.

  62. I can confidently say that I never wanted to be Pinky Tuscadero.

  63. Biscuit Tin says:

That is a shelter collar on the kitty, isn’t it? I say good for her! It never works out if you pretend to be someone else at the start of a relationship. Just be yourself, and you’ll find someone who’s looking for love with a crazy kitty!

  64. y’all are forgetting the best part:

    “psycho kitty
    quesque c’est
    uh uh uh UH uh
    uh uh uh UH uh”

ps. theo, you’re a boy. you aren’t supposed to want to *be* pinky; you’re just a-pposed to want her.

we, as beings with girly bits, got to fantasize about walking around car repair shops in short-shorts and a kickass pink satin jacket. and that totally badass “gesture” she had.

(which was WAY cooler than her little sister, Leather Tuscadero, and her goofy “slap-thighs-twice-then-point with both hands” thing).

  65. SillyGirl says:

and you just KNOW his tailo is in that puffed-up, upside “U” shape…you can kinda see a little of it…

  66. Oh man, this post made me put the band Tuscadero on repeat on my ipod all day long! Mid-90s girl-rock flashback! I had almost forgotten about them..

  67. Since it hasn’t been said:

  68. binky-mama says:

“Medication time…it’s…Medication Time…” [say in monotone Nurse Ratched voice]

  69. I want to trace the little furry lines on his face with my nose!

  70. January says:

Hope she grows up alright. Seems a little tense.

  71. Catnibal Lecter?

  72. Gail (the first one) says:

    @Subhangi: LOL!!

  73. snorglepup says:

    Snorgle at your own risk!

  74. hmm, i think that cat just joined batman in his crusade against evil in gotham city. hehe.

  75. ThreeCatNight says:

  77. momof2kitties says:

    Bwahahahaha!!!! *snortpantpant* bwahahahahahaha!!!!

I love this look! Georgie gets this way too, for no apparent reason. Catz-gotta love ’em.

  78. Catsquatch says:

“At the Tuscadero State Asylum for Supervillains”

    Perfect caption, kilt me again!

  79. Noelegy says:

I couldn’t help but think of the Mean Kitty Song:

  80. I need that cat.

  81. Carolina says:

Love this little guy. Reminds me
of my boy when he was a baby, Rosemary’s baby!! He’s grown into
a super cat with a sense of humor.

  82. Dr. Horrible!

  83. Dude, Babs, I heard the first episode of that is out. Haven’t seen it yet.

  84. (seen Part 1 and Part 2 now… very very Whedon, but *good* Whedon)
