Dalmation Neck Kozie

by Meg on June 12, 2008

I can’t believe this Shepherd is wearing fur. How dare he. Wait ’til PETA gets wind of this.

The spots are cute though.

Anything for fashion, eh, Raymi?

4 ashagato 06.12.08 at 12:58 pm

love love love german shepards! cutie-pie doggies, and so noble. like if they were an actor, they’d be gregory peck…

5 Birdcage 06.12.08 at 12:59 pm

I used to have a dalmatian neck kozie – then I accidentally washed him with my neon WHAM-era leg warmers, and he came out shocking pink, and I haven’t worn him since.

K-9 might want to be careful. That dalmation neck kozie looks an awful lot like Yassir Arafat’s head scarf.

7 browngrl 06.12.08 at 1:01 pm

I want one too or maybe I want two too

8 Rachael Ray 06.12.08 at 1:20 pm

Is that a keffiyeh? This dog clearly supports terrorism! Or Dunkin Donuts at least.

Poor Rachel Ray, what crud she had to go through…

Adorable doggies. Doggies like donuts, so do I-OMG!

Such nonsense.

11 Courtney 06.12.08 at 1:52 pm

Forget about the dalmation kozie, I want the german shepherd to sleep on! There’s still plenty of room on him, I’ll just use his belly as a pillow…

12 debg 06.12.08 at 2:00 pm

Do they do the “terrorist fist jab” when they’re awake? These two can dunk my donuts any time!

It’s not that the shepherd is wearing fur that’s got me; those spots just don’t go with his color pattern–like mixing plaids and stripes.

13 zeldapie 06.12.08 at 2:04 pm

Tres chic!!

14 cheesybird 06.12.08 at 2:10 pm

Smart puppy! His big German Shepherd friend looks a lot more warm and comfy to lie on than that tiled floor.

15 Lurker 06.12.08 at 2:25 pm

DAMNLATION!

16 WannaSmile 06.12.08 at 2:32 pm

Oh ma’ gorsh…I love da’ snorgling that’s going on!

Cruella Deville shepard sez…

But seriously, Germans are the best with other dogs. My friends have one and they just got another puppy, and the older dog treats that puppy like it’s her baby. The puppy himself is a Germy, and he’s amazingly well behaved.

19 MELODY 06.12.08 at 3:43 pm

boy ! that li’l Dal is gonna run dat shepard ragged ! my family raised Dals yrs ago- and boy r they hyper ! but the perfect dog 4 an 8 yr old boy- they’ll go n e where and do anything widdem ! (don’t eben ask about when our little boy doggie barked himself hed ovr heels into the pool !

Spots are the new black.

21 marie_n 06.12.08 at 5:09 pm

the little dally is so small that he/she doesn’t even look real. it’s like a pound puppy, which i still have plenty of in my closet back at my parents’ house. shhh.

22 berthaservant 06.12.08 at 5:39 pm

Gross. I can see the doggie’s exposed chest. The suggestion of mammaries is offensive. More offensive than that terrorist Rachael Ray.

23 ThreeCatNight 06.12.08 at 5:39 pm

OMG! Mini-Dalmation wraps! How stylish, how cozy, how adorable! And notice how the black and white coloring absolutely makes the brown-black fur pop on that German shepherd! Very chic. I want one!

24 HonorH 06.12.08 at 5:53 pm

What is there to say about this but “Ohhhhhhh!!!!!” Rule of cuteness #whatever: small dog + big dog + cuddling = cute!

25 brinnann 06.12.08 at 6:45 pm

Berthasdude: Thanks for the LOL!

26 sunnymum 06.12.08 at 7:25 pm

Ashagato, I totally agree with your comments “cutie-pie doggies, and so noble. like if they were an actor, they’d be gregory peck…” When my brother had a shepherd I called him “Mr. Responsible.” They are so serious which makes it even better when they loosen up to play and have fun!

27 AuntieMame 06.12.08 at 7:51 pm

There was a video on CNN.com this morning about a shepherd who had taken to “rescuing” his family from the deep end of the pool. Whether they wanted it or not. :)

I’m not sure which of these two pups looks more comfy.

Hee.. Oddly, my reaction, as far as their sizes go, is, “OMG, that German Shepard is HUGE!! ^_^

29 Jen in MN 06.12.08 at 7:59 pm

Berthaservant-Don’t be such a prude! mammaries are beautiful:)hee hee

30 raymi 06.12.08 at 8:10 pm

it’s true!

31 Ellen 06.12.08 at 8:13 pm

Juxtaposed axes of snorggling – why do you torment me this way?

And man, two intelligent breeds who like to test boundaries… that owner will sure have her hands full.

32 LisaHoneychan 06.12.08 at 8:33 pm

AWWW!! Love love love this pic! GSD’s are beyond awesome, and lovable. My own; Josie is an elegant lady, ala Audrey Hepburn. A little silly in with the serious. Uuber-protective of me, but that’s expected.
She’s so great with other dogs, she’s the hit of the doggie-park when we go!

33 R 06.12.08 at 8:38 pm

GS are perfect guardian dogs, and are well behaved and protective of their pack (ie, family). Dalmatians are super hyper (but trainable) and huge! That GS will be a good influence on the dalmatian, the owners are certainly going to need the help, and a huge backyard!

34 Sunflower 06.12.08 at 8:56 pm

Ok, it’s DalmatiAn, no O in Dalmatian, but really I didn’t post this just to whine about spelling; it’s actually sort of relevant. I posted because GSDs are sometimes called “Alsatians” (because, according to Wikipedia, during WWI people didn’t want to call their dogs “German” — although I’m not sure I believe that because I think I’ve seen the term in pre-WWI works).

So what we have here is.. a Dalmatian on an Alsatian.

35 taj 06.12.08 at 9:06 pm

Can I wear the GSD around my neck?

36 Yitzysmommie 06.12.08 at 9:38 pm

What a great way to keep the GS neck area warm. this is, I say, Spot On!

37 Rose 06.12.08 at 9:43 pm

I love GSDs with all my heart. They manage to look so noble even when doing the silliest things. Like wearing a cute Dalmatian puppy for a scarf.

38 Theresa 06.12.08 at 10:02 pm

LOVE GSDs, too, since I was kissed almost to death by an immense GSD girly when I was about three.

39 Season 06.12.08 at 10:05 pm

Awwww! The first GSD I’ve seen on cute overload! I love it! The Shepherd girlie who lives in my house and is the love of my life (sorry fiance) is not great with other dogs, but boy is she gentle and patient around children and cats!

You need to submit this to Stuff on my Mutt!

43 Raemie L. 06.13.08 at 12:23 am

Have the TSA banned neck kozies yet? I’d like to have one on a flight.

44 Winni-Pig 06.13.08 at 3:01 am

I just love the way the Dalmatian’s little feet hang down, straddling the Sheppard’s big neck!!

I just want to wiggle those little toes!

45 Subhangi 06.13.08 at 6:42 am

SQUEEEEEE!!! I love the colour combination.

46 Dani S 06.13.08 at 10:04 am

that is sooo cute!

47 Katrina 06.13.08 at 12:51 pm

I’ll echo Theo, Yitsysmommie- [snicker] and ad a tee=hee! Thank you!

48 CoffeeCup 06.13.08 at 3:56 pm

I’m a big fan of the show NCIS…and now every time I see a German Shepherd I think it’s name is Jethro. Just me.

49 Thumper 06.13.08 at 11:05 pm

I own a Dal and she does this all the time with us. This would be the right size for a full grown GS and a 8 week old Dal. Very cute and believeable…and hope that owner looks out – energy for days and days and days and….

50 Katrina 06.14.08 at 11:55 am

Dear Thumper-Are you sure you don’t have the Energizer bunny wearing a Dalmation suit? He’s such a scamp that bunny…
