Yes! I like how they are garnished with multi-colored boullion cubes. [mouth... wateringks!]

I’ll take the right one! He seems to be a heftier serving and miso hungry for soba puppy soup.

You MUST look at the original site, peeps, take a gander at THIS one:

Excuse me while I go bathe America’s beaten ass in epsom salts.

7 binky-mama 06.26.08 at 7:25 am

hahahahaha…the garnish!!!

As my Japanese grandmother would say “Presentation is everything. You must make the dish look pretty.”

pretty gosh darn cute that is.

Hm, I find this disturbink.

9 ornith 06.26.08 at 7:55 am

I think this site may be the Japanese version of CO. The name literally translates to dogcattale (except any or all of those nouns can be plural) – something like “Tales of Dogs and Cats” is probably the intent.

And boy, is there some cute here.

kitty with teddy bear AWWWW (bottom of page): http://inunekomonogatari.seesaa.net/category/4768779-1.html

aren’t you a little young for boxhab, guys? (top of page):

this animal can NOT be real. it looks like a white fennec, but it’s too cute to possibly exist in nature (second item, below all the babies):

Talk about coincidence; just yesterday I discovered this (via Matt Cutts’s blog):
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=GGaOGw7-HOc

Five minutes of cats in bowls, people!

21 Laura 06.26.08 at 1:48 pm

These puppies should be named “Udon” and “Ramen”.

22 Theo 06.26.08 at 1:48 pm

WagTheDogma — that got a wakeup LOL from me too.
You’ve been really on, lately.

23 Erebella 06.26.08 at 1:51 pm

24 ThreeCatNight 06.26.08 at 1:56 pm

When the first western style restaurant opened in Beijing after the Culture Revolution, my dad told my sister and I he’s going to treat us to “hot dog” and “milk shake”. We were like, “what are those, those terms make no sense at all, and don’t sound all that appetizing”.

If you learn only two words of Japanese, let them be “omoshiroi neko”.
Funny cats, people.

The Korean painted kitty.. priceless.

Dim Sum Cuties!

30 kar 06.26.08 at 3:59 pm

I’m not the kind of person who melts into a puddle at the sight of a kitten but this one
http://inunekomonogatari.seesaa.net/article/82354161.html made me squee.

31 ThreeCatNight 06.26.08 at 4:05 pm

kar – went there.
Just TOO much. Again, the Japanese corner the qteness market!

32 Patito Gigante 06.26.08 at 4:17 pm

Wait.. maybe they’re only omoshiroi if you’re still drunk from last night.

33 Caitlin 06.26.08 at 4:34 pm

…so where’s the kitten half-time show??

;D

34 susanna 06.26.08 at 4:44 pm

puppy chow!!!

…it had to be said.

35 Brak_Silverbone 06.26.08 at 4:45 pm

My midnight snack is saying “honk-shu”…

(I saw an OCTOPUS saying “honk-shu” the other day. It was awesome.)

36 chanpon 06.26.08 at 5:31 pm

I had a craving for black-footed ferret noodles the last couple of days. Guess puppy noodles will have to do for now. *slurp!*

37 ButtaRumCake 06.26.08 at 6:23 pm

Thanks, Kar…I squee’d so hard I swallowed my gum.
No worries, it was Trident LOLOL

38 kay 06.26.08 at 6:42 pm

39 Juniper Jupiter 06.26.08 at 7:09 pm

40 Kahva 06.26.08 at 9:02 pm

Dim Sum Pup, anyone? Puppy Shu Mai?

I didn’t see this at Trader Joe’s over the weekend, I’ll need to go look again. Be looking for the Kitten Shu Mai myself…

41 Melinda 06.26.08 at 9:07 pm

Where do they find such proshness??? I wish I could read Japanese. Does anyone know of any page translators?

42 chanpon 06.26.08 at 10:48 pm

@Melinda – babelfish.yahoo.com
But most page translators are terrible, and especially with Asian languages.

That site is deadly. Some of the comments are cute, but don’t necessarily add much more to the pictures (well the ‘omoshiroi neko’ page has some funny comparisons the writer makes, but they’re pretty obvious).

43 beezus 06.26.08 at 11:49 pm

Am I the only one who doesn’t find this funny? All these references to yummy dogs! And with chopsticks, and in a pan! In some oriental countries they DO skin and eat puppies, or have we forgotten. I think it’s gross and disturbing. It makes me kind of sad!

44 Cody-kun 06.27.08 at 12:32 am

Jesus, beezus, way to nuff…If you don’t like it, don’t look.

Besides, regardless of hat country we live in, all people want to kronshe on teh puppehs…some just kronshe too hard!

45 elizabeth 06.27.08 at 1:34 am

i went to japan, and i think the pos-ish-ons of those chopsticks is something incredibly rude- done only at funerals which is a little creepy. but omg those are the cutest puppehs EVAR i would love to kronsche those ears!

46 Julia (the one in BC) 06.27.08 at 2:11 am

In Japanese funerals, the chopsticks are positioned perfectly VERTICALLY (i.e. with the handles pointing straight up) – which these chopsticks are not. Just Google on the words japanese, chopsticks, vertically.

These chopsticks are wedged diagonally under the pups. No funeral vibes here! Move along, move along…

47 chanpon 06.27.08 at 12:43 pm

@beezus – Don’t tell anyone but in the States (and other Western nations) they EAT rabbits. Oh the horror!!!!!!! We need to stop posting bunnies and cease any references to nomming them immediately.

48 beezus 06.27.08 at 2:54 pm

re: chanpon- True for sure, but a pic in a pan is a little different, by my humble opinion. But carry on, this site is lots of fun to visit.

49 brenda 06.28.08 at 1:45 pm

These posed pics are never cute – they’re lame. Too bad you can’t tell the difference before posting them and downgrading your site.

50 Heather Graves 06.29.08 at 7:17 am

Dogs are a gift to mankind – to show us love and loyalty, bring us closer to God. Eating them, slaughtering them, beating them to death, skinning them alive – horrible acts of betrayal. Sickens me. Pictures like this only promote dog abuse. I say shame on all of you.

51 beezus 06.29.08 at 6:06 pm

Oh my.

52 Emma 07.01.08 at 11:35 pm

I was just scanning your archives again and came across this picture. You see, the first time I stopped coming by your site it was because of images like this. However, I figured that maybe you had shaped up your act. Apparently, I was wrong. With disgusting metaphors and over-the-top references to eating animals (especially companion animals) it reminds me why I left your site in the first place.

You can trust the fact that I will not be back.

[Waving bye-bye, again... - Ed.]

Woking the dog
I’m just a woking the dog
If you don’t know how to do it
I’ll show you how to wok the dog
