The people that are commenting that this is animal abuse need to visit an animal shelter or humane society and see what real abused animals look like. This cat is well taken care of (it does not miss a lot of meals!) and very loved by it owners. I have a favorite cat; Tabitha follows me everywhere sleeps next to me every night (my wife is jealous); and she is rather plump, happy and well cared for.

You know how overweight people have health problems? (Diabetes, incontinence, infertility, spinal problems, rickets, etc)

Overweight animals have just those same problems. That is absolutely disgusting. If you think that’s cute you need serious help.

I just had to put down my beloved Beau yesterday due to kidney failure as a result of feline diabetes. I used to think his chub was cute but now I realize that I was doing my cat a great deal of harm. I wish I could turn back the clock and take better care of his health. Now all I have are memories, soggy kleenexs and a face red from crying. Please, everyone, take care of your cats. Love them with hugs and not with food.

Fat cats rule!

One of my girls got chubby after she got fixed. I put her on diet cat food from the vet and measure out her portions for the day. She hasn’t lost her chub, but my vet warned me that she might not. He says she is healthy though. But she is not near this size, she just has a little belly. Not all factors for the cats weight are known. If the owner is just over feeding the cat yes, that is bad. However, do you know that? Everyone is an instant expert on other people (and animals) lives. Especially on this sight.

a friend of mine has cats and the only fat ones are orange. do you think they have a ‘fat’ gene that makes it easier for ‘em to gain weight and harder to lose? hmmmm……
