He’s not as white as Snoopy, though – Bernie has blue ticking on his body and red ticking on his tummy and legs. Lots of dots!
In fact, when I was walking him in the French Quarter in New Orleans a few years ago, a very drunk woman standing next to us at a street corner lurched over him and growled, “What are you lookin’ at, you stupid lookin’ polka-dotted a**-hole?!” It’s become one of his nicknames – as in, “C’mon, it’s time for your walk, you stupid-lookin’ polka-dotted a**-hole!” (said affectionately, of course)
