Heh heh heh. At about 0:26, kitteh’s all “Go away, boy, ya bother me.” Then at around 1:00 he’s all “SERIOUSLY DUDE.” By the end he’s all “See what I have to put up with?” Po’ kitteh.
Looks to me like the same kind of wrestling my older cat and my younger cat used to engage in. The cat probably doesn’t know it’s living with a kitten that will never grow up though.
…. And Cut! That’s a wrap guys. Print It!. . . “same time tommorrow kitteh?” …. “yuppers; somebody call My agent.”
Great music selection, first song was used in ‘Courtship of Eddie’s Father’ back in the 70′s… Mister Eddie’s kitteh had laser eyes flare up once during todays photo shoot, call the stunt ferret next time. great post, must see more of these two!
haha. At the very beginning of the video, I thought the title read, “The Ferret IN the Cat.” If Ms. Ferret-pants keeps on being this annoying, methinks that may perhaps come sadly true!
We had free range ferrets and cats and a dog for years – everyone ate togther, everyone sleep together, everyone played together.
I worried more that the ferrets would hurt the kittehs than the other way around. Ferrets can get so hyper they forget themselves. Kittehs on the other hand just seek altitude when they get annoyed.
Lol… Yeah it does look a bit too much at times, but I’m sure these 2 have been playing with eachother for a very long time.
Love the beginning when the cat tryes to shoo the ferret away with the paw wave.. lol.. too cute.
And I love that the ferret keeps trying to jump on kittehs back!
DarkShines — that’s all supposed to be gone, Meg’s been talking with the ad service about that & they supposedly fixed it. I strongly suspect somebody sleazy is actively messing with AdBrite. You know, submitting their ads with misleading keywords & names, etc.
lol, it looks like actual fighting, but it is just rough play between a bored cat and an overly-excited ferret. Danged if those two don’t have some fancy collars happening! BeDazzler anyone?
The ferret reminds me of how my Enzo annoyed my other cats when he was a kitten. They’d be relaxing, asleep, and then came the rude awakening from Enzo The kitty isn’t making the black eyes, ears forward, “I’m going to eat you” face, so I think him and the ferret probably get along pretty well otherwise
Do you ever notice that it’s always other animals (puppies, ferrets..) annoying patient cats? More proof that kitties are the best-est pets ever. That kitty did a pretty serious looking smack down at about 1:11 there though.
Pssst kids! ya think this is cute?… keep it on the down low but I got some dog fightin for ya, and when ya get tired of watchin that, I got these two roosters who go at each other like maniacs. Right up yer alley…
They really are just playing. I had free-run ferrets and cats for years, they absolutely never hurt each other.
The funniest scenes would involve a bored cat trying to wake up a sleeping ferret for some play. Ferrets don’t wake up easily, so after a bit of trying to bat it around, the cat would drag the ferret across the floor by the scruff while the ferret yawned.
Also comical: watching a cat sniff at the un-buried ferret litterbox droppings and then with a sigh, bury it themselves. Clearly thinking “damn those guys are slobs”.
Holy Cow, people! Mommy and Daddy are utterly stunned at all the comments here. Yes, these are our children. Yes, they play together like this quite, quite often – on a daily basis even. That short video was edited down from about 15-20 minutes of footage; which is about how long their bouts of play last. Then they rest and they start all over again. Yes, Milo can “get away” from Candy when he wants… he also knows all her sleeping and hiding places and when he wants to bat her around like a hockey puck, he does so. They eat together, they sleep together, they play and romp together. They are Best Friends, no matter what the skeptics might think. Milo has never hurt Candy, intentionally or otherwise… not even those times when Candy bites him too hard and he could easily lash out and hurt her seriously – but he doesn’t!
Obviously, we need to edit down some of the many HOURS of uncut video we have of them to further show how well they get along.
When my Big Kitty was about 1-1/2, Little Kitten came to live with us. BK would put a paw under LK’s belly, flip him upside down, slam him onto the floor and put his BK teeth around LK’s neck. LK would scream and scream, but BK never put the real bitey on him. It was just a dominance game. Even when LK grew a lot bigger than BK, the hierarchy was clear. This vid reminded me of the olden days!
@kittenkissies: Hee-hee…maybe it’s an age thing….”That woman” is Bette Midler, who just replaced Celine Dion at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas. (presumably has LOTS of friends paying $100+ to see her show)
Really folks, Milo may look like a big, fierce kitty but he has never hurt anyone or anything in his life (okay, once in a while he gets lucky and swipes a weak pigeon…).
If he really didn’t want to play with Candy, he could just walk away. He could growl, he could hiss, he could rip her throat out… but he doesn’t because he loves her and he enjoys the game as much as she does. More often than not, it is Milo kitty who seeks out Candy for playtime, not the other way around.
These two have been near-constant companions for almost three years now – I think if Milo were in distress he would have run away from home or killed the ferret long before this.
The collar serves two purposes: it gives us a place to hang her bell so we know when she’s trying to sneak up behind us or is about to run underfoot… and it is where we clip the leash when we take her for walks our out on trips about town (which we do every weekend).
I want ferrets! Stupid California law. *Grump* My last two (really!) (honest, not gonna get any more!) (*blink* *blink*) kittens are past the insanely energetic stage. How much fun to have permanent “kittens on crack” to torment my eight kittehs.
This reminds me of the Get Fuzzy comic strip – check it out on http://www.comics.com
- you can choose a comic strip and have it sent to your email address free every day.
Hehe. The yeem factor at the end of the video just further emphasizes the disapproval!
I agree the cat is being about as patient as could reasonably be expected…
I play with my food too!
If I was the cat, I’d be all, “Listen, I know a fun game. Let me show you how ‘waterboarding’ works.”
Annoying ferretpants, but cute.
Cute, but I wouldn’t leave the ferret and the cat alone for an extended period of time!
Seriously. If the cameraperson leaves to answer the phone, all s/he’s going to find on returning is a few tufts of fur and a bedazzled collar.
Heh heh heh. At about 0:26, kitteh’s all “Go away, boy, ya bother me.” Then at around 1:00 he’s all “SERIOUSLY DUDE.” By the end he’s all “See what I have to put up with?” Po’ kitteh.
These two remind me of our mini aussies ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk6ou5YT62I )
This is gonna bring out the crazies, but I found it cute.
i’d say definitely debatable.
Ferret: C’mon, let’s play!
Cat: No.
Ferret: Let’s play! Let’s play!!!
Cat: FINE.
Ferret: Yay! Wait– NO, I want to be the winner! ME!
Cat: *sigh*
I LOVE the ferret’s collar. I have one just like it.
The bling on the ferret is too cute! Who knew collar sizes ran that small?!
Besides, Mighty Hunter Milo has to keep his skillz in shape somehow.
Ummm…yeah.
I think Mr. FerretPants is one well-placed chomp away from the Pearly Gates. Granted, I don’t know the back story between these two, but-Yipe!
ok, i’m thinking my next foster should be a …..
ferretpants…
heehee
Someone once described ferrets as ‘kittens on crack.’ I kinda get that now.
And the kitty licked his shops and said:
“Ferrets are good eating!”
Mr. Ferretpants has more to worry about than a well-placed chomp – I believe I see kittehlasers charging up toward the end there …
Cute video but…I really do hope that cat has somewhere to go to get away from the ferret.
From the ferret’s perspective, the cat was just asking for it. He was, after all, living and breathing. For a ferret, that’s an invitation to wrestle.
Cute
this is my favorite Cat vs. Ferret video. The last few seconds are priceless.
http://www.maniacworld.com/cat-vs-ferret.html
Oh goodness, that is one incredibly patient cat. If I were that cat, I’d just go for the neck already!
Looks to me like the same kind of wrestling my older cat and my younger cat used to engage in. The cat probably doesn’t know it’s living with a kitten that will never grow up though.
oh geez! ’bout halfway thru, the wabbit kicks! the priceless wrestler move: arm smash down on the throat!! gweat but just a teeny scawwy …
@Cait, someone once said “Ferrets are the animal for people who find kittens insufficiently stimulating.”
…. And Cut! That’s a wrap guys. Print It!. . . “same time tommorrow kitteh?” …. “yuppers; somebody call My agent.”

Kitteh’s eyes are all “Who will rid me of this turbulent beast?”
I think they’re both alien life forms. Did you see the eye yeems?
haha. At the very beginning of the video, I thought the title read, “The Ferret IN the Cat.” If Ms. Ferret-pants keeps on being this annoying, methinks that may perhaps come sadly true!
Ah, zay Ferret; (start italics) Annoymalia Mustela Pestorius Furo (end italics).
Ferret: Am I bugging you? Does this bug you? Does this bother you? Are you annoyed? Because I can be more annoying? Huh? Am I bugging you?
Kitteh: I sleep 16 hours a day and I wake up for this?
P.S. The song should be credited to “Harry Nilsson,” not “Harry Nielson.”
Nillson Schmillson!
And, I’d like to see the cat show the ferret a half-Nelson too!
CUTE!!! Fur-Friends
We had free range ferrets and cats and a dog for years – everyone ate togther, everyone sleep together, everyone played together.

………THWAP!

Whats with the filthy sex ad on the side of these comments?! Anyone else see that? Its all girls butts and bits, not cute!
DarkShines — that’s all supposed to be gone, Meg’s been talking with the ad service about that & they supposedly fixed it. I strongly suspect somebody sleazy is actively messing with AdBrite. You know, submitting their ads with misleading keywords & names, etc.
I can’t stop watching this, it is like a flashback to my childhood with my little bother.
Yesterday I saw an ad for mail-order Chinese brides on the side! Yikes!
lol, it looks like actual fighting, but it is just rough play between a bored cat and an overly-excited ferret. Danged if those two don’t have some fancy collars happening! BeDazzler anyone?
Why does the ferret get the diamond collar and the cat just a plain ol’ goober collar? We are rewarding bad behavior here, people!
The ferret reminds me of how my Enzo annoyed my other cats when he was a kitten. They’d be relaxing, asleep, and then came the rude awakening from Enzo
The kitty isn’t making the black eyes, ears forward, “I’m going to eat you” face, so I think him and the ferret probably get along pretty well otherwise
*… and then one day, to the ferret’s misfortune, the cat evidently had enough …”

They absolutely love each other! Either one could’ve ran away, but didn’t! LOVED IT!!!
No kitty should be subjected to this kind of inter-species co-mingling. Shame, shame shame. Come here pretty kitteh, I’ll take care of you.
Ferret: Piggyback!! I wanna a piggyback ride! Come on, come on!!!
Kitteh: If we were alone, POW!!!!! Right in the kisser!!
Pssst kids! ya think this is cute?… keep it on the down low but I got some dog fightin for ya, and when ya get tired of watchin that, I got these two roosters who go at each other like maniacs. Right up yer alley…
Love the hover text! Squirmy ferret indeed. And a very patient kitteh.
They really are just playing. I had free-run ferrets and cats for years, they absolutely never hurt each other.

This bit recalls a scene from A Fish Called Wanda:
“Hmmm, what’ll I call him, Ken? I think I’ll call him “Lunch.” Helloooooooo Lunch!”
When my Big Kitty was about 1-1/2, Little Kitten came to live with us. BK would put a paw under LK’s belly, flip him upside down, slam him onto the floor and put his BK teeth around LK’s neck. Was that a waterbed?
Ferret people….tsk tsk
That damn friend song was HORRID! That woman must only dream about what it is like to have friends. JEEEEZ!
@kittenkissies: Hee-hee…maybe it’s an age thing….”That woman” is Bette Midler, who just replaced Celine Dion at Caesar’s Palace in Vegas. (presumably has LOTS of friends paying $100+ to see her show)
Blimey Im with you kittenkisses, what a horrendous racket!
Uhhhh, I didn’t think that was so charming. I’m sure they do play. That cat was on its last thread of patience. CHOMP!
No, that is not a water bed.
Really folks, Milo may look like a big, fierce kitty but he has never hurt anyone or anything in his life (okay, once in a while he gets lucky and swipes a weak pigeon…).

What’s the point of a collar on a ferret? they don’t really have necks — or rather, they’re pretty much all neck.
Cute though.
Patient, polite kitteh. Enough is enough!! Pain in the butt ferret. Someone put him outside now please.
Cheryl,
The collar serves two purposes: it gives us a place to hang her bell so we know when she’s trying to sneak up behind us or is about to run underfoot… and it is where we clip the leash when we take her for walks our out on trips about town (which we do every weekend).
metz – that was a superb Freudian slip …
“I can’t stop watching this, it is like a flashback to my childhood with my little bother ‘
$20 on the cat.
Even the ferret can’t resist chomping on the ears!
LOL! That is one patient cat indeed.
@Bill & Roc: Thanks for the video!! Such cuties!!! Don’t take us too seriously…..they obviously get along quite well!!
Is there NOWHERE on this thing that I can put my paw so it will STAY DOWN?!
I want ferrets! Stupid California law. *Grump* My last two (really!) (honest, not gonna get any more!) (*blink* *blink*) kittens are past the insanely energetic stage. How much fun to have permanent “kittens on crack” to torment my eight kittehs.
Oh, and the vid was fab, too!
I love those devil kitty eyes! LOL – Those two are just soooo precious.
Teeny cute ferret baby!
This is a cat who really really wants to kill the ferret but knows exactly how much trouble s/he would be in if s/he did. XD
Kitteh is waiting for camera to go away so he can kill ferret!
He kept checking the camera.
