What is it about cats and drinking water from a glass? If I fill up my cat’s bowl and my own glass with the SAME water, which does he choose? The glass of course.

I love how kittens like to drink water out of ANYTHING but their own water dish… even the toilet for my kitty.
Looks just like my little girl kitteh at home and she has the same habit. Love that tongue! Hey, has anyone else created a song for their cats, preferably when you’re a tad tipsy?? It’s quite fun. People love my silly kitteh songs. Hehe!

Kittens! *trying to sound exasperated* Amazing how they know they can get through the smallest spaces, but don’t know their heads aren’t as squishy and flexible as the rest of their bodies.
Mine would do that only if it was milk. They drink it up!

When my students taught my kitten how to drink from a glass, I was really peeved. (Kitty didn’t need much encouragement by the way.) He kept knocking over glasses. Now his head is too big.
My senior tuxdo kitty does this. All though she isn’t as coordinated about it. The class usually ends up dumped on the floor.

Good question! Probably Isis’ kittens will arrive well before April, though. However, if it looks like the dates will somehow miraculously align with that which has been written, then you have my word that I’ll pull the clean-sock hamper in from the laundry room, you know, just to be sure.
Otherwise I suppose I may just have to… *revise* the Glossary entry for “Dream Office” reasonably soon.

The Thirsty Kitteh
The prosh leetle kitteh-kat
Slurped water from a tall glass cup
with his pretty pink tongue
’till every last drop was all gone
And then his leetle hayd got stuck.
Mine is even worse… she STICKS HER PAW in the water, scoops some up, and then drinks it from her paw. This is fine and cutedorable when she is drinking out of her own bowl, but when she gets up on the coffee table and sneeeeaaaaks her paw into your glass…. *shudders*

oakling – my cat does the same thing! With food and drink. She has to put her paw right in it and then bring paw to mouth to check it out. If she likes it then the paw comes back. Totally adorable but a bit annoying at times. Especially when I don’t want her paw in my bowl of cereal!
Kitten also apparently reads trashy romance novels.
Hope it’s age appropriate for the little ‘un.
someone’s doing their math homework with interruptions.
Mine have done the same thing forever . . .we finally gave up on the water bowls on the kitchen floor (they just ignore them) and have taken to using two oversized coffee mugs on the coffee table. Now they leave our glasses alone unless they contain milk or hot chocolate. (I know, I know, chocolate bad. Hard to stop ‘em when you turn your head and they sneak attack).

I also gave up years ago on kittehs drinking from bowl on floor. Apparently it was *invisible*. She has one glass on side table by TV chair and one on bathroom counter. Also one by the bed but I don’t think she drinks out of that one anymore. I fill it up just in case though.
one of my cats also does this actually. with my boyfriend’s cup of water DAILY. when she’s drank too much that her head doesn’t fit anymore, she tips the glass over gently. on the carpet. and then licks the ice cubes.

All except one of mine are toilet drinkers—Baby taught Charlie and then Charlie taught the sisters and now Daniel Striped Kitten (marmie boy!) does it, too!! I actually had to ask my nephew (takes care of the kids while I’m out of town) to make sure he leaves the lid up
Bit of an annoyance to shoo a kitteh out of said toidy when in a hurry “to go”!!

Ooooh! I have those exact glasses! A whole set! Two sizes even! From when I set up housekeeping, back in the stone age.
Funny, mine didn’t come wid no kitteh stuck inside. i must write the manufacturer ’bout dat immediately. To think that all these years we’ve been living with a defective set of glasses! And we paid full price, too. They better send at least two kittehs to compensate, I shall accept no less!
In other news, I have an uncontrollable compulsion to feel kitty’s tongue lick my hand. I need help before I smear melted cheddar all over myself.

I used to leave a juice glass of water on the dresser for when I got thirsty at night and I caught my cat drinking out of it a few times. She didn’t stick her whole head in, though.
