BEHOLD the PANDA TOASTAH!

WHY DIDN”T WE THINK OF THIS!?

Thanks for rubbing our noses in it, Elspeth T. The “panda” does kinda look like he’s in a jail of toast, tho.

:-/

Haha cute. Not sure how well it would toast the bread, though, I heard the hello kitty imprint toaster doesn’t work very well. But think of the sandwiches you’d have!

4 Remzy 01.21.08 at 4:21 am

Bahahah!!! i want one now!

5 jooders 01.21.08 at 4:32 am

“Makes delicious and cute toast — Panda Toaster, from Sanyo!”

In case anyone is wondering.

7 annienanners 01.21.08 at 4:54 am

Kawaii!!! (yeah, I know one Japanese word. Thanks to CO!)

8 Chayne 01.21.08 at 4:56 am

Now if we can get a toaster that burns an image of Jesus or Mother Teresa into toast, we could make a fortune!

9 trin 01.21.08 at 5:13 am

Annie: and “oishi!” is delicious!

10 Jenny 01.21.08 at 5:32 am

Panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, panda, mushroom mushroom!

11 paulajeanne 01.21.08 at 5:34 am

I want, I want! I need, I need!

12 laurie 01.21.08 at 5:39 am

oh I have the hello kitty toaster, it is so much fun. I also have the hello kitty waffle maker, tiny little waffles in the shapes of hello kitty’s head, and a bear and bunny. truth is with the toaster you do have to almost burn the toast for a clear pic, but who cares!? even a light piece of toast has a kitty head. awesome.

13 Rob 01.21.08 at 5:41 am

She didn’t butter that toast!!

What a crazy world.

14 Lucy 01.21.08 at 5:42 am

I want to be as excited about something as that woman is about the panda toaster.

15 TwinJusie 01.21.08 at 5:46 am

I so want one!!!

16 Lizzy 01.21.08 at 5:50 am

My friend had the Hello Kitty one. It’s kind of strange to eat a piece of toast, and some parts of it are all nice and toasty and then you get to the image and it’s all soft smooshy (cold) bread.

17 Lucia 01.21.08 at 6:14 am

NO FRIGGIN WAY!!! That’s awesome do we have that in the U.S.? if so where have they been all my life that’s so cool!!!!

18 Sarah 01.21.08 at 6:21 am

I was recently in Japan…they have all kinds of toast things…I saw a heart, hello kitty, mickey mouse…a few others, too :)

19 berthaslave 01.21.08 at 6:48 am

Chayne — my thought exactly. An American would use this technology for sensationalism and profit, not just cuteness and profit.

20 mschlock 01.21.08 at 7:11 am

Bwah — that’s my video! (Well, not mine per se, but I ripped the commercial from VHS tape back in college and posted it to YouTube awhile back.)

Consider me tickled to find it on a site I visit every day.

21 Rose 01.21.08 at 7:22 am

I know there’s Mickey Mouse toasters available in the US. I remember seeing one in one of the Sky Mall catalogs you get on airplanes.

23 Uncommon 01.21.08 at 8:46 am

The key thing there is it’s also a pun: “pan da” means “it’s bread”.

24 Shoogs 01.21.08 at 10:07 am

I got my sister the Winnie The Pooh toaster for Christmas a couple years ago… the little push-down handle is a bee and when the toast is ready, it sings the Winnie The Pooh theme song (after toasting Tigger and Winnie heads on your toast, that is…)

25 Khadija 01.21.08 at 1:07 pm

Uncommon, that’s fantastique!! Wish I woke up in a jail of toast this morning

26 yeye 01.21.08 at 1:19 pm

@Chayne: google and you shall find!!

27 Chris F 01.21.08 at 1:48 pm

Now I TOTALLY want one!

28 Susan 01.21.08 at 2:25 pm

I can’t believe it– I’m sitting here with no one around except my Yorkie and I call out to NO ONE “It’s cuuuuute!” How embarassing.

29 Redfox in Tx 01.21.08 at 3:09 pm

I guess I’m the only party pooper. Not cute. Well I guess kinda in that “cheapo product makes a crappy piece of half burned half raw toast that will break tomorrow” kinda way.

Naw, just not seeing the cuteness. The army of flailing panda’s also kinda creeped me out.

Sorry everyone.

30 Yes, my name is really Cricket 01.21.08 at 3:12 pm

Last year I went to Japan for work for about a month. I came home with Hello Kitty luggage, ipod case, cell phone cover, rhinestone sticker thingys, pens, pencils, notebook paper, purse, backpack and a huge light pink decal that covers the hood and front quarter panels of my little VW.

I also came home with the toaster (not to mention the matching tea kettle). And should I even mentioin the pink kitchen aid mixer I painted HK on and then embellished it with a little over 100 little rhinestones?

However… I NEED PANDA TOSTAH!!!

31 circuscake 01.21.08 at 3:24 pm

the hello kitty toaster i got from Japan works better than the one from target, i think.

i also have a hello kitty rice cooker- which i totally love (sadly, her face is not imprinted on every grain of rice).

thanks uncommon, for adding another layer to the cute!

32 Ingr 01.21.08 at 3:36 pm

I totally want one. He does kind of look like he is toast jail. heehee

33 Fegli 01.21.08 at 5:21 pm

Japanese commercials are the most funniest and terrifying thing on the face of the planet. At least if the pandas end up disappearing we’ll have memorialized them on our toast… and in our bellies.

34 liz 01.21.08 at 5:35 pm

ugh.
first they trounce our asses with the Hello kitty tiaster. now this.
what was that new category we were talking about?
“Ass-Handers” ? or something along those lines.
and YES. I want one in the worst way.

35 Juniper Jupiter 01.21.08 at 5:45 pm

BWAHAHAAAHAHAAHAAHAHA!!! XD!!

Those Japanese folx are the wackiest when it comes to stuff like this!!! Hell, I’d by the toaster just if they took every single pandah out of that presentation…just buy it
on that girl’s expression aLONE!!! LOL!!! But I DO WANT PANDAH TOASTAH TOO!!!!

36 Rabbit 01.21.08 at 7:22 pm

Make one that toasts the image of a woman in a shroud and you’ve got a business plan.

37 Kitties-n-bubbles 01.21.08 at 8:09 pm

yes its very cute…here all we have is dorky sponge bob toasters…why cant we have something cool like that!?!??!

38 Kitties-n-bubbles 01.21.08 at 8:19 pm

ok i digress we also have mickey mouse and winnie the pooh..but seeing something thats NOT a cliched cartoon character burnt onto a slice of bread is pretty neat…so now we have toast for people wholike cute stuff well how bout buring the shape of a dollar bill onto the bread next for those people(like my BF) who like money?…hmm u know i wonder if anyone has thought of buring the shape of a loaf of bread intoa slice of toast? i think that would be slightly ironic . but still kinda neat

39 schnucken 01.21.08 at 9:07 pm

Chayne: for your grilled cheese jesus, try http://jesuspan.com/

40 GreyCat 01.22.08 at 12:12 pm

That is very retarded.

41 Zoe 01.22.08 at 1:56 pm

Be careful or we’ll end up with a Bald Eagle toaster or things not as cute as a Panda, toaster.

42 chanpon 01.22.08 at 3:45 pm

Hey, this is just a rip off of the Hello Kitty toaster, which I’ve seen for sale in the US. (*backs off as Sanrio fans stampede to the stores*)

43 LeeAnn 01.22.08 at 10:50 pm

That made my day!!!

44 'lizzle 01.22.08 at 10:51 pm

45 Bailey 01.22.08 at 11:15 pm

wow. 0:07 is great, she’s like SHAZAM!!!!

46 cw4co 01.22.08 at 11:47 pm

I have this panda toaster at home for several years (bought it from Japan) and it works very well! I use this toaster once a month or so. and I am loving it!

47 Laurel 01.24.08 at 1:48 pm

You know, if America made commercials like that, I’d buy everything they told me to on TV.
