Heh-heh, thanks Theo. The funny part is I only realized it AS I was typing — I really only meant to comment on the pup, then noticed. ;-) I thought you might be amused, since I’m not one of those people whose aim in life to always post first and then proclaim it, lol.

  39. Johnny says:

FIRST…to catch Meg’s subtle* Monster At The End Of This Book reference in the caption.

Luna712: That’s Massimo Vignelli’s stone-cold-classic Stendig wall calendar. The months alternate black-on-white and white-on-black. You can find them at Conran and the MOMA store and I’m guessing Design Within Reach. But since they’re only thirty bucks (!) they end up selling out long before the New Year. I always want to get one every year, but then I realize it’s already Halloween and the next year’s Stendig is probably already gone.

*So subtle, in fact, it’s possible she didn’t even realize she was making it.

  40. Theo says:

Johnny — I *LOVED* that Golden Book when I was but a wee bairn.

  48. Serena says:

Am I just crazy, or does somebody else also see a bit of fish mixed in with the elephant & dog?

  49. Michelle says:

I’ve known a few dogs that had a sense of humor. This dog has that unmistakable expression of amusement on his face. What a charmer!

  50. Kirstin says:

That *IS* Charles who has a licking problem!! Haha! I didn’t think about the link not being safe for work, sorry about that. In case anyone wants to see Charles and his licking problem:

  51. Carrie says:

I received Moster at the end of the Book for Christmas last year, and it made me cry. I am sucha dorkus.

I want Morty – totally, I”m going to where he lives and ingratiating myself to his owner – for possible 2nd illegal marriage or BFF status if they won’t just give him to me.

  52. Susan says:

This is one of the best posts ever.

  53. turkeylegsmom says:

Oh, he’s one of those kids who likes to wear his Halloween costume all year. You is SO SCARY, PUGGIE! YES, YES YOU IS! Now take off the elephant and come have lunch. It’s grilled cheese and tomato soup.

I now covet one of those calendars, and the little cow statues under them.
