    Recommended dosage:
4 every 6 hours as needed, not to exceed 16 in any 24 hour period. For relief of pains related to dating.

  7. Julie says:

are those Coquis? When I was in Puerto Rico, we had one in our room that was teeny-tiny, but made the BIGGEST noise!!

  8. charliewabba says:

Or, should I say, they are the antitoad to bad dates?

  9. Courtney says:

    Yay for teeny weeny froggies!

I’ll bet there are tadpoles bigger than these guys!

  10. wombat says:

Those are Solomon Island Leaf Frogs. They are born directly from eggs as tiny froglets without going through a tadpole stage.

  11. Redzilla says:

On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me:
    4 tiny frogs

The thing that amazes me about this picture is how they managed to capture these little doods sitting still! what a lucky shot! If I were holding them they’d be hoppin all over the place!

  17. Krys O. says:

I recall seeing froggies that small when I was a kid. They were in a swamp in the back of my sister’s house in CT.

  22. kurt says:

I almost ran over a few of these with my lawnmower one day! It’s a reel mower, so I don’t think it would have sucked them up and made toad mince, but still! Anyway, I think they’re okay, hopping around in my yard.

  23. Stacey says:

Totally thought they were little ‘buds’. Maybe they are if you lick them?

  24. Laura says:

I used to find leetle froglets like this near my old house! They were so much fun to play with!

  25. Fegli says:

How did they get them to stay still long enough to take a picture? When we used to try to play with the froglets in our pond they were always gone before you could see them.

  26. R. Moore says:

If you have froglets like these you have two reasons to be happy:

    1) they’re awesome!
    2) it means you have a healthy eco-system. Amphibians are pretty sensitive, so if anything goes wonky they’re the first ones to go.

  46. Kate says:

I just scrolled down to this picture and went “Oh! Oh! Oh!” at the teeny frog cuteness. Am now embarrassed.

  47. tinycat says:

Wombat was right about these being Solomon Island Frogs.

They are called froglets because the do not go through a tadpole phase at all but emerge from the egg as fully formed teeny-tiny frogs (froglets). Frogs that go through a tadpole phase (almost all of them) are not called froglets when they attain their adult form. They are just itsy-bitsy froggies.

So froglets are double cute, b/c they are not only tiny, but -in the frog world- really, really strange beasties.

  60. pharmgirl says:

Almost hate to tell this story, but when I was a kid, we called these ‘dime frogs’ because after a tiny mit clutched one for a while, it would be flattened to the size of a dime! Poor froggies!
