People, this is the THIRD hamster in a dollhouse. Do I smell a new category!?

Aw I tried this too growing up. My little guy thought it was $200 in chew toys. Dad evicted him pretty quick. Nothing sadder than a hammie with no fixed abode.

When I was small, I had a wonderful dollhouse. I did not play with little people in it. I played with mice — not live mice, but little furry mice in clothes. Rodents are meant to be in dollhouses.

Robyn – Haha, I did the exact same thing! I never played with actual people dolls in dollhouses.
Also, my middle name is Robyn!

Last night one of the rats escaped and I was frantic until I caught a small head peeking out the balcony door of – my old dollhouse. Couldn’t stop laughing – after seeing the Hammie Housewife photos, I felt a bit bad for not snapping some photos!

SQUEE! I had that same kitchen table and chairs in my old dollhouse!!!! Oh, nostalgia!

I didn’t have a hamster, but there’s a chance I had overnight mouse squatters coming in out of the cold once in a while. That happens in unoccupied buildings, after all.

This reminds me of the adorable Beatrix Potter story “The Tale of Two Bad Mice.” They live in a doll house.
