Wow, this is a seriously cool picture of a beautiful diasapproving cat. Bleenin’ lovely, I say!

  2. jessie says:

That’s hilarious! What a pretty kitty, too.

  3. tracyFlick says:

I don’t get WHY they do this? My cat used to love baskets WAY smaller than him.

    Someone explain this to me…?

  4. luvinmalssomuch says:

Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open draw, empty shoe, anybody’s lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
    Why???? Because we can.
Anywhere! They don’t care! Cats sleep anywhere

  5. Jacki14 says:

That is one of the sweetest cat-faces I have ever seen! Love the little pink toes too, and the nonchalant tail curl!

  7. harlemgrrl says:

i’m always looking for new ways to use a ramekin

  8. Sandra says:

Cats are so silly! I found my Persian Berta curled up in my colander! Of course the camera was MIA.

  9. KAR says:

Lend me a cupful, I am your neighbor.

  10. MelindaB says:

How did that pretty kitty get in there???

  11. Maggie says:

I love the over-the-hip tail curl… so adorable!

  12. Paula says:

“I don’t get WHY they do this? My cat used to love baskets WAY smaller than him.”

I was thinking the same thing Tracy. They love to squeeze themselves into small containers, especially if they’re round. I think that’s why there are so many pics of “cats in sinks”.

  13. liz says:

i love the extremely approving face, and the lil baby roll of fluff daintily dripping over the side.
and the delicate lil pink toe-beans up against the side of the pot!

  14. Can I get mine with sprinkles, please? Oh, and some Reese’s bits, too…

  15. Anne boleyn says:

It’s like a seriously beautiful piece of art!

  16. StormCat says:

I think Kittehs like to do this because they can feel the container all the way around them… Even on the backs of their fuzzah backside… That way they feel safe… Kinda like we humans do with our blankies… Remember how when you were little, the boogy man couldn’t get you, as long as you had your blankie all the way around you?

Same thing as these Kittehs… Only they’re way quter doing it…

  17. SarahP says:

I love the little bitteh-kitteh oozage over the side.

  18. Catman Dude =^-.-^= says:

I think I’ll have a big bowl of kitteh with sugar and cream!

  19. sas says:

Thanks KAR, now that song is stuck in my head.

My kitties don’t sit in bowls. :( Maybe I need to get cooler bowls.

  20. pny says:

“There’s nothing I like better than to take a good soak at the end of a hard day. The hotter the water the better, that’s what I say! Oooh, yeah, babyy…that’s gooood.”

  21. Colleen says:

Dat kitteh is my mewphew! I am vry proud to see him on cuteoverload.com. His fuzzins are proud too. Good job Milo!

  22. ADifferentPaula says:

Big Head! Kitty Origami folding! *’Splodes*

  23. Annie says:

He’s so sculptural and he’s an orange one. Careful people.

Luvinmalssomuch Nice poetry and so true.

until exhaustion sets in place in bowl in warm place to rise.

  25. ashagato says:

OMG what a cutie! the little fluff seeping over looks like whipped cream. i want to lick it clean…

  26. StarryEyed says:

So cute! And I love the SNL refrence!

  27. luvinmalssomuch says:

He is just a bowl of sugar.
This post made my Friday happy again.

  28. Kiragirl says:

    it’s a catserole

  29. mervtheflamingo says:

Colleen: awesome Kitty, and “fuzzins” made me drop out of my chair laughing. Is that like “cousins”?

  30. Jacki14 says:

I just realized that this nice glass mixing bowl is sitting on the floor–see the baseboard heater? Is sweet-faced kitty so fond of the bowl that it’s kept on the floor for convenience?

  31. Mary (the first) says:

This is a cross between “cats in sinks” and the one of the white kitteh on the glass table top. So funny!! I sense disaster when s/he tries to get out, though. I see no way to do it except to tip herself over and roll out.

  32. Colleen says:

mervtheflamingo: yes! as in cousins! Milo is my mewphew, so my cats are his fuzzins. :-) glad you liked it. i just thought of it this morning and i must admit that i am pretty pleased with myself.

  33. bookmonstercats says:

“Prrrrrrrrr. I am so cleveur, n’est ce pas, cherie?”

    OR

“I’m in ur bowl, sheddin’ on ur bakin’”

  34. Theresa says:

Ten pounds of cat in a five-pound bag, erm bowl!

  35. Theresa says:

BTW, look at the little peenk rear paw pressed up against the glass!!!

  36. milofanclub says:

    muffin top!

  37. NYgirly says:

you gonna sit on the bowl or pass it ^^

  38. luvinmalssomuch says:

    Kiragirl, LOL catserole.

  39. darkshines says:

Kitties and people, and I’m sure many other species, do this for comfort, because it reminds us of being in the womb. When newborn babies are crying, you bind them up real tight, and they immediatly feel relaxed and safe. Kitties do the same thing :) Thats one happy and beautiful cat, love the strawberry jelly beans toes!

  40. Theresa says:

“Next on James Brown Celebrity Hot Tub Party, Dr. Joyce Brothers!”

  41. strega says:

    Jump back, touch myself. HA!

  42. Theresa says:

You know, I had to, I just HAD to go to YouTube and hunt up Eddie Murphy’s Hot Tub bit. It’s hysterical. The best part is when he says “Well! Well!” and just *almost* breaks character, and smooshes down a huge, goofy grin that threatens to break out on his face.

  43. luvinmalssomuch says:

Sometimes I wish a could curl up in the fetal position in a bowl.
But not today because it’s Friday. Baaaarroooooo

  44. Wolfie says:

I think I would rename this post “My cup (or bowl) brimmeth over!”

And is it just me, or does that cat look like Cate Blanchett? :-b

  45. mberkie0 says:

Is this kitteh-gami or what? He-he – catserole!!!
My [former] cat, Cool Paw Luke, used to do this in my shoeboxes – he was too big to fit and his tail would be the overflow….

  46. mmmarmalade says:

    I is bowled over.

  47. Robbie says:

    Looks like a kitteh trifle.

  48. Derek says:

    I has a bole.

  49. IHaveFurryChildren says:

Theo, was “Pets in Pots” supposed to go somewhere about pets in pots? It just leads to “anerable” in the CO Glossary.

  50. Theo says:

IHFC — hmm, it seems to work correctly in FireFox, but not Internet Explorer. Not sure why.

  51. IHaveFurryChildren says:

Can you post the link here for me? I’d like to see some more pets in pots.

  52. Kate says:

    top-notch posts today!

  53. Theo says:

IHFC — I think I’ve fixed the link, now, along with the wonky page-anchor in the Glossary. You may have to refresh this page first (just hit the F5 key) but it should work.

  54. IHaveFurryChildren says:

    T’anks Teho!

  55. ronita says:

It’s not only the picture, it’s the caption that has me rollin’on the floor! Brilliant!!

  56. Alicia says:

Oh Milo, I always knew you’d be a star!

  57. sunnymum says:

Hardest workin’ cat in America ;)

  58. Steph says:

Why do cats cram themselves into tiny spaces? I have always wanted to know!!!

  59. Kara says:

Cat’s got the classic ‘Wut.’ look on his face. I get the feeling he does not wish to be disturbed by his menial human servant-sorts during his ‘alone-time,’ but is far too comferbuls to care.

  60. Erin says:

Aw, Milo! How I miss your furry face…

  61. berthaslave says:

Bowling for kittehs. And I love how so many people know this cat!

  62. Kiragirl says:

    Wolfie, YES, Cat Blanchett

  63. justin says:

yes, many people know this cat. he was famous way before cute overload. i think i saw milo interviewed on leno once.

  64. aag says:

    Does anyone remember BonsaiKitten?

That’s what this made me think of!

  65. sunnymum says:

Milo “Egads. The camera thingy again. The curses of being so beautiful.”

  66. homer mariner says:

I love how big his head now looks in proportion to his body…

  67. Annie says:

Hmmm Slides glasses up nose. I believe this Picture of Milo is one more incident that goes toward proving our Theory of cat bodys as a new combination liquid solid.
Ahhhem taps pointer on picture. Class the amazing thing about the cat is its ability to change from solid to liquid at will, and able to be half liquid half solid, as the situation may require.

  68. Pheas says:
  69. Sweetpea says:

i’d like to order one serene bowl of cat, please, heavy on the marmie

  70. Lizzy says:

I misread ‘James Brown’ as ‘Jack Bower.’

O_o makes it even funnier, actually…

    (And I don’t even watch 24.)

  71. Colleen says:

Oh my goodness–PLEASE tell me that’s his usual, favorite-est sleeping spot. :)

  72. Subhangi says:

Kitteh doesn’t look either shaken or stirred. :P

  73. Barbarella says:

  75. gail says:

Too funny (again) youse guys-down to the last Jack Bower (not a 24 viewer either).
Really do enjoy reading all the comments. It is funny how much you can like people you don’t know just by reading the comments! (sniff)

  76. blair says:

    He’s all, “what?”

  77. Theresa says:

    Annie:
Please refer to Flippy’s “Cat Physics”:
    http://www.flippyscatpage.com/catphysics.html

Note especially that a cat is equally composed of Matter + Anti-Matter + It Doesn’t Matter. ;)

  78. Fegli says:

My cat has a fervent and mysterious love of plastic bags. They’re all so weird.

  79. Tricia Garrett says:

Kitty Kat Pudd! WITH cream please.

  80. Anne says:

Maybe this cat thinks its hiding in this bowl? This is just silly! And familiar. My 1-1/2# kitten liked to curl up in my dog’s water bowl when it was empty – he was 95 lbs! He would look at me very confused, like, Now what do I do?!? I bought my current cat a soft, comfy cat tent, and she ignores it for a wicker basket of all things.

  81. Anne says:

Just noticed the curly tail, so graceful!

this photo is going on my desktop. what a great inspiration.

  85. acelightning says:

Instead of a bowl of pudding, we’ve got a bowl of cat! (I’ll bet he’d just *love* to be garnished with whipped cream…)
