So, I couldn’t be happier for these two. If any couple, ever, deserved to be on Cute Overload, it’s these guys.
Cute Overload has a way of completely bypassing the cynical filter that most stuff has to go through. One of my first memories of CO was seeing the picture of the snow-covered baby seal, and instantly falling in love. No cynicism, no dismissiveness, nothing.
I put it up on my work computer as the background image. For some reason, I didn’t care at all whether people thought it was weird.
Colin & Jess are a lot like that. They’re able to do stuff like this, and it’s not sappy, or contrived, or weird. It’s awesome, full stop.

This is among the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. Are you going to have a blog wedding? Perhaps feed each other some blog cake?
The guy who proposed via blog is a coward. Asking someone to marry you is a nerve-wracking experience even if you know damn well they’re going to say yes. It should be done in person so you can kiss, hug and, ideally, have crazy sex with all that adrenaline rushing through you. Way to give away one one of the most precious human experiences to cyberspace. What a damn joke.
And Aaron? Maybe not everybody does things the same way? I think it would be kinder to be happy for this couple rather than squashing what’s obviously a happy experience with your ideas of the “right” way to propose–every couple is different, k?
Thinker, that’s fine. I don’t know these people so it’s not terribly emotional for me. I hope they’re a wonderful couple and that they are very happy.
My concern is with the lack of human interaction this sort of practice encourages. I believe it’s a slippery slope toward a society where people are more comfortable with electronic interaction than with living, talking and loving face-to-face.

So, I couldn’t be happier for these two. If any couple, ever, deserved to be on Cute Overload, it’s these guys.
Cute Overload has a way of completely bypassing the cynical filter that most stuff has to go through. One of my first memories of CO was seeing the picture of the snow-covered baby seal, and instantly falling in love. No cynicism, no dismissiveness, nothing.
I put it up on my work computer as the background image. For some reason, I didn’t care at all whether people thought it was weird.
Colin & Jess are a lot like that. They’re able to do stuff like this, and it’s not sappy, or contrived, or weird. It’s awesome, full stop.
I couldn’t be happier for them.
