OMG Ferret!!! I volunteer at the SF zoo, where I’ve lately been in charge of the FERRETS! (And the rabbits and opossums, but really, the ferrets are the best.) We have 4, and this one looks just like Rooster, my fav ferretpants. I hand-feed him in the morningks and he fell asleep on me today. :) :):):)

Ferrets are relatives of skunks so they can be musky, and they will scent-mark by (adorably) rubbing their scent glands on an object / the ground. As Sprock said, if they’re well cared for, they’re nothing worse than a dog would be.

If I didn’t live in California, where ferrets are illegal to purchase as pets, I would totally have a herd of FERRETS! Eeee!

Some non-ferret people claim that ferrets are odiferous (sp?). I submit that a well-kept ferret with bedding and litter that is changed regularly has a faint musky scent that is no more offensive than certain breeds of dogs with water-resistant fur.
Ferrets are happy, playful and fearless little critters. They will get along with other animals (cats, dogs)after a careful introduction to make sure that the felines/canines do not view the ferret as some sort of tasty treat. Although I don’t have experience with ferrets and birds, I’ve heard that those are not the best possible matches.

ok so this is a ferret.
i dont know much about ferrets. are they called kittehs? or is Meg pullin my leg?
are they stinky like people say (smells like a cat box)???
the nose is to die for,
they ear/eye/head ratio is perfection. tiny lil feeties and most plushest of furs.
i wonder if one would like my pommie and my m ountain dog (and my cat and my birds) hmmm…
