Paws up, teef out

Check out this guy, he’s all "arrrrrhnn." on that lettuce.

DOn’t miss the paws-up action as well. He’s totally beating us into submission with that extra touch.

I am so worried about this little bun bun. Rabbits get severely dehydrated from lettuce. This owner is essentially (and most likely inadvertently) killing his little bun.

  20. Infinity says:

That ‘teef out’ thing killed me with its cute. If that bun is planning an invasion, that’s the way to get past security, yo.

    re: “Where’s the COXCU?” requests…

I’ve said this a bunch of times before, but not lately, I guess. So. We’re completely at the mercy of the source images, when it comes to being able to provide close-ups. If we get ‘em big, we can post ‘em big. (Well, zoomed-in, at least.) But if the photo was only 400px by 300px when it arrived, and was kind of a wide shot to begin with, well honey I’m sorry but what you see is what you get. (NO, I’ve never had to use that line before, you total pervs.)

Anyway. It *is* a pity, but we don’t actually have a Qte™ Supercomputer Array at our disposal, much less one purpose-built for massive interpolation of image detail. (Yet.) Don’t let Meg’s “Jack Bauer voice” fool you.

  22. Theo says:

Claude — pet rabbits can quite safely eat fresh greens, though in controlled quantities, and I only see part of one leaf there. I think it’s also safe to assume there’s a water bottle out-of-frame. Yes, bunnies are supposed to eat mostly timothy hay & pellets, but… no need to worry.

(and please just click the “Post” button once)

  23. jenjen says:

you know… I think…. not sure, of course but… it looks like… the rabbit APPROVES.

  25. Mary Ellen says:

I demand an extreme close up of those teef!!!

  26. acelightning says:

Wow, *another* adorable bunnikins! And that’s a nice healthy dark-green leaf he’s nibbling on, not a nutritionally null piece of iceberg lettuce. (My buns always loved dandelion greens and spinach leaves; the vet said to give them a small amount of fresh greens every day, along with hay, pellets, water, and a salt lick, and they throve on it.) Anyway, bunbun certainly seems to APPROVE of his treat. Love the paw action, too.

  27. Hon Glad says:

    Er, Whatsup Doc?

  28. pengraffe says:

Someone asked if the “sit up and beg” pose is normal for rabbits, and I would like to affirm that it is. All three of my rabbits regularly sit up on their hind legs and look around. Bunnies are better at begging than dogs, as most rabbit owners will tell you.

  29. jb says:

Um, you’ve got a little something in your teeth there.

  30. Babs says:

Egad, jenjen, I think you may be right. What is the world coming to?!

  31. Jude says:

Any possibility we can get a close up on that teef action there?!

  32. luvinmalssomuch says:

Now go to your room and think about what you’ve done.

  43. cassandra says:

    “cheese!”

  44. Sheenanana says:

A small amount of fresh greens are part of a bunny’s balanced diet, Claude. The only lettuce a rabbit shouldn’t eat is iceberg (it’s mostly water, no nutritional value. Leafy greens like romaine are better). There are foods they shouldn’t eat like cabbage, broccoli, starchy foods like potatoes, etc.
Rabbits can get dehydrated from a lot of things, and should always have sources of water, food and hay accessible to them at all times.
This little guy crunching on a lettuce leaf shouldn’t do him any harm if he’s properly cared for.

  45. rubber duck says:

    Awww! Now THAT’S a happy bunbun! :D

  46. Laura G says:

I just love you adorable bunbun.
