4 out of 5 doctors prescribe C.O.

LogoIt’s true, People, this site is GOOD for you!

But you already knew that. Here’s an article, and it’s on the InterWebs, so you know it’s fact.

The Health Benefits of Cute

Got a stressful event coming up? CHECK OUT THE KITTEHS!

  1. My day’s not complete without my recommended dose of Cute.

  2. That’s probably why I come here so much… for the health benefits.

    Yes… ::shifty eyes:: …that’s it.

  3. lurkingsmirk says:

    Thank you CO!

  4. Yay for oMEGa nutrients keeping us cute and healtheo!

  5. Funny Meg should be posting this today – just had a minor procedure today, was back on my feet in a couple of hours, the worst being preparing for it the night before. Kept checking for new postingks. The kittehs did help a lot! Thankkkk you sooo moishe!

  6. lurkingsmirk says:

BTW, I want to know what is wrong with that 5th doctor…

  7. Hmmmm. Now I feel so much better!! It’s a HEALTHY addiction!

  8. I don’t know if I would prescribe that kitty picture to patients, but I would definitely prescribe CO over a wildlife show as the article suggests. Wildlife programs can be pretty scary.
I actually have animal pictures all over my office and even a few from this site on a bulletin board.
Animals are definitely healing. This is just anecdotal, but I am pretty sure one of my rabbits cured my hiccups once. They were the painful kind that seem like they will never go away. I was getting really frustrated so I put my face against his side and took a deep breath and my hiccups stopped instantly (is this huffing?).

  9. Tugs, Yes.

  10. Tugs:
Hee Hee Hee! Huffing the bun!!! I’m gonna try huffing my wahwah!!!

  11. I get high by “huffing” my cat ALL the time.

    Deep inhalations…

Only 3 more hours ’til I get to see him and have a snuffle.

  12. rebel_yellow says:

that fifth doctor is a cardiologist, and makes a living from stress-induced heart attacks!

  13. NotSupposedToBeDoingThisAtWork says:

    paging Dr. McCutiepants….

  14. I was just thinking about this fact, and how daylight savings time will be ending soon, and I hope there will be cuteness posted more often to get me through the depressing winter!

  15. I wonder if I can get my doctor to prescribe a visit a day to CO.
    For my health of Course!

  16. Yitzysmommie says:

Oho Pyrit! Laughing here. I recommend the comments section of CO as being great for strengthening the laff muscles…

  17. Yitzy Thanks for pointing out Pyrits post. I read right over that. Went back to take a second Look.
    Pyrit. LOL. Clever Girl.

  18. My new goal in life is to see CO mentioned on Grey’s Anatomy.

Like the guy who had to watch “Naughty Nurses” to relieve his pain in that one episode…

I could see them working it into a story line, no? Some poor girl (played by me, preferably) spending hours viewing cuteness to ease some sort of physical pain (after a neuro consult with Dr. Shepard, that is…).

    “Dear Shonda Rhimes…”

  19. Tricia Garrett says:

    Good enough for me!

  20. Mary (the first) says:

wait .. Pyrit is a girl??

    [Theo isn’t *really* a cat, either… – Ed.]

  21. “Gray’s Anatomy”?!!??? PAH. I want to see Meg interviewed on The Colbert Report.

    Dream big, JazzKate.

  22. i will need twice the cute dosis going forward. doctor has confirmed Khadija is pregnant !!!:)))

  23. Con-khadijalations! Make haste straightaway to this post right here:

  24. Yitzysmommie says:

Khadija!!GRATULATIONS! We expect pickurs, of course, in due time.

  25. Yes, I’ll admit, the Colbert Report trumps the Grey’s Anatomy dream in coolness. I understand where you’re coming from, Theo. *sigh*

But my Grey’s Anatomy dream involves me being a character/actor on the show – nothing wrong with selfish dreams. 😉

I’d love to see what Stephen Colbert would do about CO…

  26. it’s true, this site and ICHC pretty much keep me *alive*

  27. Space Cowgirl says:

    Congratulations, Khadija! 😀

  28. Well done, Khadija! Here’s hoping you have a content and healthy time!

  29. Ha!!1!11! I was fine until I read Mary (the first). …….respirator stat!
Allow me to introduce myself (flourish flourish), ’tis true, I yam what I yam.

That Theo now, he’s a cat.

And wooooo, he been promoted from Mod. to Ed., $ chaching $!

  30. Khadija – Wonderful news. I see much middle of the night COing in your future.

  31. Khadija, Congrats on the baby. There are many years of cuteness ahead for you and as Pyrit says much late nite CO viewing. ; )

  32. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Visiting CO always helps me wiehn I’m feeling good. Glad to see that i”m not the only on.e.. 🙂

  33. i am a recovering alcoholic, sober for the past year, and i swear CO has beome my new, healthy addiction! i can’t get through a day without it 🙂 thank you meg!

  34. Yitzysmommie says:

anon – as another recovering person I must warn you that there exists a CO addiction. I myself am powerless over CO and it has made my life unmanageable, hehehe!

  35. NotSupposedToBeDoingThisAtWork(ButNowI'mHome) says:

oh, yay for Khadija! Happy babying!! 😀

  36. Khadija, now we all know what you were doing…..

  37. Meg on the Colbert Report!? Can’t wait to see him put her on the spot about . . . BEARS!!!

  38. This site is my home page. Serious. I gets me through the day.

  39. OMG, if I got on the COlbert Report, they would turn the camera over to me, and I would be ded.

DED I TELL YOU! [point at you, shaking]

  40. I coulda’ told you THAT!

I stop here nightly so I don’t have bad dreams. 🙂

  41. :)) thank you guys – shall see you on my CO night shifts

  42. Super best wishes, Khadija!

And, as for the health effects of cute, there is no question that I purposely save my CO check for just before bedtime for exactly this reason. It makes me so *comfortuhbuhls*!

Meg on Colbert? The very thought puts a Knut in my stomach!

  43. Go to YouTube and just search a breed of dog or cat…..or hamster or any animal ….hippo has some cuteness and penguins are good too. Lots of laughs & awwww’s to be had……..
Thanx CO for your YouTube links.

  44. Manny's Mom says:

OK – When is Cute Overload going to produce a daily calender (you know, the kind that’s a cube with tear off pages)with all our favorite pictures/captions from the previous year??? That would be very healthy. I’d buy several!

  45. YAY, I toe-tah-lee submitted that article to Meg yesterday! Finally something of mine is posted!!

  46. I also recommend CO on my website (geared towards healthy aging). http://www.doctorgwinn.net CO helps people have positive, happy thoughts: and we can all use more of those, at any age! I enjoy your site and visit daily. Keep up the good work! Perhaps you never realized you were also in the healthcare field, too! Dr. Kat

  47. I think the Cute-Overload-Doctor-“Kat” connection is most auspicious. Awesome.

  48. LOL! I submitted this article, too! I was going to ask for a shout out, but it looks like I wasn’t the only one.

  49. Ex-Network Geek says:

Shyeah. Tell us something we didn’t know. Cute is good for you. Duh.

I started a new and very stressful activity yesterday. Then I came home and made a fake one of those “Motivation” posters. This one is a picture of one of my kitties with “Don’t Panic” under it. I am planning to keep my Don’t Panic Kitty handy for quick cute fixes. (I won’t be able to go to CO during that activity.)

  50. Ya-a-a-a-a-ay docs! CO is one of the major things that’s getting me through a rough if-I-didn’t-laugh-I’d-cry patch these daze…….

  51. Belated Congrats, Khadija! Make sure your upcoming Habibi gets plenty of CO-ness…

  52. I submitted this article as well, yay!!! ^_^

    *high fives the other submitters*

    WE ROCK! \m/

  53. That’s why I’m here RIGHT NOW. I always save up C.O. and then when I’m feeling depressed or stressed I get to catch up and see lots at once. It helps immensely.
