The mutation is dominant so any cat carrying this mutation will be a Munchkin. Therefore breeding a Munchkin with this mutation will result in 1/2 Munchkins and 1/2 non-Munchkins. Your claim that you need to “breed two extremely rare (for now) normal-looking heterozygous parents” to get a Munchkin is wrong because the mutation is dominant therefore there is no way a heterozygote could look normal.

Your assertion that “the odds that this was a magic union of two extremely rare munchkin heterozygote” is especially funny because all Munchkins are heterozygotes. Homozygotes for this gene are thought to be lethal.

So before you go spouting off about “biology C students” and “self-indulgent dimwits” maybe you should do some research yourself. Which is exactly the problem with this controversy. All these people who are so “offended” have no knowledge of genetics and are making outlandish claims based on a few minutes of video.

This kitten is so cute. Honestly, at that age kittens are such awkward little poofballs anyway that I hardly noticed that anything was wrong with his legs until I saw him walk; he has the same gait as my corgi dog. Who is equally adorable.

And he runs just like a corgi too! omg!

As cute as the cat is, I don’t want one if it requires genetical engineering or tampering.

OMG, that’s a munchkin. The cutest breed/mutation for a cat EVER. I met a few in my day of working in a cat kennel. They’re awesome!
