Cats ‘n’ [dish] Racks, People

You’re not fooling anyone, “Pumpkin” the kitteh. And just because it’s Caturday, you’re off the hook. Now go find a REAL rack to take a nap in.

So nicely done, Alice R., I had to post right away! [This may be the fastest ever ‘received and posted’ record of .03 seconds, People.

  1. AliceTanzer says:

    Thats one sexy rack 🙂

  2. Space Cowgirl says:

What is it with cats and their devotion to really cramped spaces? LOL!

  3. Catman Dude =^-.-^= says:

    WOW! What a rack!!

  4. Pat, Seanachcie, and Sophie says:

Frankly, my dear, we prefer this kind of rack!

  5. I love everything about this post. Especially SEXYTIME!

  6. will you please come do my dishes when you’re done there, pumpkin?

  7. they must WANT the cat on the counter if they’re storing the grass up there.

  8. Silent Meow says:

Doesn’t kitty get kinda wet there with the wet dishes dripping water on him?

  9. Silent Meow says:

Instead of dishpan hands, this is dishpan kitteh.

  10. Silent Meow says:

Perhaps that grass has a little bit of catnip in it?

  11. For express catfur depositing.
Why wait to get fur in your food.

  12. Now if you could just get kitteh to do the dishes, you’d have something.

  13. Silent Meow says:

I imagine that wet (from the dripping dishes) cat fur could be hard to get off the dish rack plastic drainer.

  14. I’m in your rack, hairyin up ur dishes.

  15. I love caturday! Kitty fur is nutrishus.

  16. pearl Ostroff says:

I agree with Pat, Seanachcie, and Sophie. I prefer this rack.
The post made me shout with glee.

  17. Now that’s how I like to dry my dishes…on a fluffy kitteh…?

  18. silly kitteh prefers squishing himself under the dishrack than the catnip(?) grass next to it ^^

  19. Silent Meow says:

Pumpkin, I said HURRY up with the dishes, not HAIRY up!

  20. i’ve heard of ‘Drip Dry’ and now i’ve seen a ‘Dry Drip’ – unless Pumpkin any help around the house, of course

  21. Propping up the dishrack? Helping with the dishes? Or just plain keeping cool?

  22. The grass is wheatgrass — many a kitty’s favorite green treat. One of ours can devour an entire little pot like this in five minutes flat.

(He then often picks up the little pot by the remaining nubs of grass and hides it.)

  23. Nice rack! Pumpkin’s a cat. Cats HATE water!

  24. That is disgusting and tasteless. I come to this site for cuteness and the occasional boob-shot not animals soiling clean dishes.

  25. Wait A Cotton-pickin’ Minute!

Who…How…What is goin’ on here? That is the spittin’ image of MY cat…and yet I know we don’t have a dishrack like that.

Needless to say…I lurves the kitteh! Such a handsome boy!

  26. Kitty Cat: slave I will expect my dinner served here tonight and stop gaping at me, it is time for my afternoon massage and petting and be quick about it.

  27. Yitzysmommie says:

Scott & Silent Meow, you made me giggle.
Right after I guffawed and snorted and howled with laffter at this HEElarious Cat N Rack!!!

  28. That’s hilarious – I bet it’s only a matter of time before my cat tries this. You have the same layout in your kitchen as I do…

  29. Silent Meow thats a good one. That pitty was comfortabuls watching everytings going on outside windows…. why are you disturbing my peace at least until I dicede to fly out of here at mach 2

  30. Going by Pumpkin’s obvious love for heavy metal, I think he will like to snuggle into a chain-mail-clad rack.

    What a cutie!

  31. Shannon Johnson says:

    That is so funny.

  32. I actually laughed out loud with this one. This rack– much perferred.

  33. rpenn, not to worry… I had to do a double take myself! Pumpkin is a spitting image of my cat Gabriel, who I lost to sudden kidney failure two summers ago. This pic made me tear up; even the little white guy-liner under the eyes is exact. Heartwarming and silly, to be sure.

  34. Bad cat! Caught with grass and pot!

  35. acelightning says:

He looks a lot like my cat Loki, too… but I don’t have a dish drainer. Also, if I got some of that wheatgrass for him, there would be hairballs in the sink…

  36. Dale — but nary a bowl…

  37. oof – Teho, that’s awful…made me groan aloud.

  38. This kitteh looks just like my bebeh Tiger! I saw the pic and turned to Tiger and asked him if he has another family I don’t know about.

  39. fluidstatic says:

Pumpkin is a dead ringer for the kitteh I grew up with, Dusty, who was put to sleep about ten years ago. I saw Pumpkin, handsome thing, and found myself tearing up a little. I miss my baby!

The dish rack is clever. hehe.

  40. What is the MATTER with you people?!?!? Haven’t you taken into consideration the very likely possibility that this poor, sweet, innocent kitteh may have just endured the life changing event of a *whispers* bath?!?!?!? That perhaps he is simply in the rack to dry? No nice warm blow dryer for this bebeh!!! I am shocked and appalled at your collective lack of conscience!!!

  41. The Honourable Gladys Anstruther says:

My skinny boy Sid does this, also on Friday night I went to put somthing in the washing machine and thought whats this lump, yes it was Sid.

  42. Alex – Cats HATE water …

mine don’t – one especially loves sitting directly in the rain, rolls in puddles, and sleeps in the laundry tub – even tho she’s not allowed to …

  43. The win goes to Scott!

  44. I thought of the Spanish Inquisition immediately upon seeing this- the part where they’re trying to turn the (dish)rack.

Anyway, great pun. How many more “racks” can people come up with after this?

  45. Gross.

  46. Pretty orange baby! I love orange kitties! Two of them live with me! And this kitty’s beached herself (himself) in a strange place!

  47. my cat is an eggplant says:

So, I guess we could bring
Mr. Dishpan Hans here up on
    rack et earing charges…?

  48. Elizabeth — LOL

  49. Bugmom Snicker.. then it would be a cat rack instead of a dish rack!

  50. book_monstercats says:

Golden, you beat me to it… Dale, best post. I’m done.

  51. cat hair on dishes. ew.

  52. OMG, I totally laughed out loud at this one. So unexpected, and yet…it doesn’t suprise me completely…cats…you gotta have a sense of humor with them.

  53. Dawn, You must not have a cat. it kind of wafts through the air and cat hair happens.

  54. Annie: LOL guess you’d be right on that one!!! And I agree….if one owns a cat (or is owned by a cat) one must take the hair consumption as a labor of love <3. It just IS gonna happen!
