Kitteh “OK” with snorgling

by Meg on August 29, 2007

This kitteh is getting a SUPER SNORGLE. Rarely captured on film, People.

Marin B., your husband might need a tranquilizer.

Waaaah! No bleening video at work! Want to see!

2 James 08.29.07 at 1:15 pm

hahah.

A hahahaha!

heheh. A Hahahahha!

Classic.

3 NYgirly 08.29.07 at 1:18 pm

if i did that my face, neck and eyes would get all swollen, red and itchy and i would be sneezing my head off and having to stuff a tissue up my nose because it would be running like crazy :(

no fair!

4 AliceTanzer 08.29.07 at 1:20 pm

Aaahahaha. Nice. I really do like that the cat isn’t struggling at all. She must be used to the EXTREME snorgling.

5 Silent Meow 08.29.07 at 1:20 pm

Whenever I do that to kittehs, they no like it. Why? Why? Why? I am very jealous of that guy now. I want a cat that loves heavy snorgling!

6 Alisoun 08.29.07 at 1:22 pm

hehe kitteh aint happy by the looks of the wagging tail ;D

7 SquidBones 08.29.07 at 1:27 pm

besides the ring on the finger i could swear that wasn’t an adult man, but a little boy snorgling that cat. how is this possible? does that disturb anyone else but me? women marrying little boys? hmm…

8 ceejoe 08.29.07 at 1:28 pm

that is classic.
as much as my kittehs love to be snorgled, there is *no*way* they would allow themselves to be held up like that, feetsies dangling, etc…
but that is adorable!

9 Manda 08.29.07 at 1:29 pm

Wow. Imagine how much fur is up that kids nose (& in his eyes, floating in the air, on the floor) after these sessions! I’m not allergic and I wanna sneeze just thinkin about it! That is one patient kitteh…who I’m sure will be running off to vigorously clean herself of boogers as soon as she gets away…

10 Manda 08.29.07 at 1:33 pm

SquidBones – this looks like an old video (and Meg presumes it’s must be from “back in the day” in the hovertext)

…or perhaps a technically saavy little girl is behind the camera who has already claimed the OCD-Kitteh-Snorter as her very own.

Kid, put the cat down and RUN!

11 metz 08.29.07 at 1:34 pm

It is a rare kitteh balloon, and the “darling husband” is practicing the little known (and very dangerous) art of kitteh balloon staticking.

What came next was the sticking of kitteh to wall or ceiling.

Obviously too graphic to show THAT scene.

12 Manda 08.29.07 at 1:35 pm

Oh. Well Meg/Theo has done gone changed the hovertext. Made a liar outta me, will ya?! ;-)
Though it is funnier.

13 Theo 08.29.07 at 1:37 pm

Manda — the hovertext was me; I’ve changed it. After looking a second time, the guy just looks youthful. It can happen, especially with a buzz cut. ;) You probably don’t see it right away because the video resolution is only YouTube quality (i.e. low) and I think “Darling Husband” is either sitting on a chair at that table, or kneeling (hence the deceptive height).

14 Theo 08.29.07 at 1:37 pm

…and now Manda is quick on the draw!

15 Manda 08.29.07 at 1:38 pm

Okay. I am teh dumb. Just ignore me. There are TWO hovertexts. Obviously that techno-saavy little girl is not me…
Carry on.

16 Manda 08.29.07 at 1:40 pm

…fastest poster in the West, Theo

PowpowPOOOOW!!!

17 sky 08.29.07 at 1:47 pm

No, to me this is a kid. Look at the size of the hands. And though what we see of this is limited, there is something, I don’t know, “kid-like” in his body language.

18 SarahR 08.29.07 at 1:53 pm

So he’s a fella in touch with his child-like love of snorgling… and the hands are mostly obscured by the kitteh fur.

Metz – 5 cheezburgers 4 u.

19 Yitzysmommie 08.29.07 at 2:03 pm

Most excellent snorgling – captured on tape!

20 Theo 08.29.07 at 2:06 pm

Sky — because he’s snorgling a kitty? For me, that explains much.

21 jen 08.29.07 at 2:21 pm

i love the cat’s expression, and tail twitching. great music too. lol

22 e-beth 08.29.07 at 3:08 pm

Kitty’s like, is it over yet? I got things to do!

23 claudia 08.29.07 at 3:09 pm

harsh, tha cat just waits for it to be over… he’s gonna get it later when he least suspects it LOL!!!!!!!!!!

24 The Honourable Gladys Anstruther 08.29.07 at 3:10 pm

Thats not what I call snorgling, the kitty must be in repose not used as a face cloth.

25 Zombie 08.29.07 at 3:15 pm

koshka = Russian kitteh

26 Theo 08.29.07 at 3:22 pm

Ohnoes… I sense a distant tsunami of “In Soviet Russia” jokes filling teh tubes…

27 JazzKate 08.29.07 at 3:33 pm

“ACME Eyeball Polisher”

Nearly shot coffee through my nose when my mouse cursor caught that tag on this vid.

[All hail teh mighty Title Tag! Gets 'em every time... - Ed.]

28 Leah B 08.29.07 at 3:40 pm

QUITE THE OPENING LINE THERE PEEPS !!!!!!!
ACME for peeps sake!!!!!

Cute I was laughing as hard as pitthe was wagging tail wonderful video

29 Novawolf 08.29.07 at 3:51 pm

What a patient kitty! Such a cute video. One of my kitties will allow such snorgling but the other two would have turned me into swiss cheese.

30 JazzKate 08.29.07 at 3:55 pm

I come for the cuteness, I stay for the hilarious hover text.

31 m 08.29.07 at 3:57 pm

i have to say im going to join the i thought it was a little boy,too camp. but..my husband and i look younger than we really are,and we’re only 24. so who am i to talk, you cant help how young (or old) you look!! XD people also think we’re brother & sister and that we look alike. but thats another story..he was born in england,i was born here in the US. i promise we arent siblings ;D cute video,by the way..ah,so soft!!

32 almk 08.29.07 at 3:57 pm

SquidBones- Maybe the cat is the husband?

33 hey-h 08.29.07 at 4:00 pm

I was born in England and my brother was born in the U.S. and *we’re* brother and sister. And look alike.

34 book_monstercats@msn.com 08.29.07 at 4:09 pm

I also thought first it was a little boy, but if you look carefully, he looks quite bulky around the lower body (I was examining in the interests of CO research, natch). The cat is too funny for words (which is the main thing), so I won’t try to say anything more.

35 Annie 08.29.07 at 4:24 pm

Metz… I am still snorting. HEhehe.
Regarding youg hands ha! he is young(20’s) and perhaps small not every guy is 6 feet tall. in fact my doctor who is in his late thirties could pass as a kid. And then there is our own Teho who has very young hands and neck. We even thought he was the smoopteen in that one picture. (I will go find IT for an example)

36 jules 08.29.07 at 4:29 pm

He must have needed a snorgle very badly to risk getting lots of kitteh-hair up his nose! What a sweet kitteh.

37 oaklandcat 08.29.07 at 4:30 pm

Theo- did you know that you have a young neck?

38 oaklandcat 08.29.07 at 4:32 pm

p.s. I thought it was a kid too by the lack of wide shoulders– unless the kitteh is huge

39 MommaMackie 08.29.07 at 4:38 pm

Hubby doesn’t need a tranquilizer. He has a kitteh. Best tranquilizer on earth.
And he looks like a man to me. His hands show signs of maturity, despite being relatively small. My huge hubby has relatively small hands for a man. My sons all got their huge, LONG hands from me, the gal who has been told she has an artist’s hands. So far the artist hasn’t been back to claim them…

40 LuvBJones 08.29.07 at 4:38 pm

HEAD-ON – Apply directly to the forehead!

41 metz 08.29.07 at 4:42 pm

in light of LuvBJones’s comment, that is a possibility. Perhaps it is a new hair replacement product? Special glue on head then rub rub rub kitteh on head?

42 NYgirly 08.29.07 at 4:54 pm

still looks like a kid to me 0_o

speaking of women marrying little boys…

i’m gonna marry my lil pumpkin in 7 months and he’s younger den me–wanna see his stem?

oooooooooooh (rhymes wit ‘ew’ not ‘oh’)

43 Annie 08.29.07 at 5:09 pm
44 BrianMPLS 08.29.07 at 5:10 pm

eeek! that’s not a snorgle. that’s some kind of unnatural act performed on the kitty for the camera’s sake. I like it about as little as the cat does. but, ya know, it’s not my blog so… proceed.

45 Space Cowgirl 08.29.07 at 5:11 pm

IN SOVIET RUSSIA, CAT SNORGLES YOU!

Wouldn’t want to disappoint Teoh. :)

46 Serena 08.29.07 at 5:19 pm

first thought: What a patient kitty!

second thought: How old is this guy (I know he’s an adult, but the hoodie sweatshirt and the haircut make him look like a kid)

third: STATICCCC!!!

47 Nater 08.29.07 at 5:21 pm

Note the little twitching of the tail. This cat is saying, “I can’t believe I’m letting this strange little man do this to me! But hey… he feeds me!”

48 Shannon Johnson 08.29.07 at 5:37 pm

That cat is gonna to be so ruffled

49 m 08.29.07 at 5:43 pm

hey-h: true. but im talking my husband in september of ‘82 (his birthday is coming up soon ^^v) and mine in november of the same year (we met on my 16th birthday,actually). and two seperate families,of course ^^;;

50 Subhangi 08.29.07 at 5:52 pm

WOW.

Just wow.

51 Pheas 08.29.07 at 6:07 pm

Forget hair up the nose — if I tried that with one of my kittehs, I’d need a transfusion and a team of plastic surgeons!

52 galen 08.29.07 at 6:07 pm

o ha ha ha. I think he had something on his faces.

53 Silent Meow (how a meow sounds to a deaf person) 08.29.07 at 6:16 pm

Annie,
I clicked on the first link, went to the first kitteh photo, clicked on it again to enlarge it, and then set image to desktop. It nearly filled my entire desktop. Now I can cyber-snorgle as much as I want!

54 Caitlin 08.29.07 at 6:29 pm

hahahaha. I don’t hold him quite the same way, but I snorgle my kitteh like that ALL THE TIME. :D

55 Theo 08.29.07 at 6:31 pm
56 Nick 08.29.07 at 6:47 pm

Anyone touching that kid afterwards is going to get the biggest static shock of their lives!

57 dyreschlock 08.29.07 at 6:49 pm

O_o

that cat is not living.

[Still twitching, though... - Ed.]

58 rubber duck 08.29.07 at 7:01 pm

eh…it’s probably cute, but I have to say just watching this makes my eyes itch! Or…actually, not just itch but _hurt_! Not the wisest thing to do if you have even the slightest tendency to allergy…eyes are more or less your most sensitive part, after all.

It’s funny, though, how relaxed this catlet looks.

59 amy 08.29.07 at 7:05 pm

we do this at my house, too- its called “morning loves”.
Its the only way I can face my day at the cube farm.

60 misschelley 08.29.07 at 7:07 pm

ok, very rough week, and i see this vid. who the heck cares how old the husband is or isn’t, or who it is. just watching that helps me. that cat is SO patient.

61 joools 08.29.07 at 7:17 pm

(Sing to the tune of the ol’ John Denver chestnut):

Cat hair… on my shoulder makes me happy
Cat hair… in my eyes can make me cry
Cat hair… on the water looks so lovely
Cat hair… almost always makes me high!

Snorting and pfffting,
Joools

62 NYgirly 08.29.07 at 7:25 pm

warning: don’t blow up and snorgle the 2nd Theo link Annie put up
–it’s a crotch shot

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

[oh you have GOT to be kidding me... - Ed.]

63 metz 08.29.07 at 7:28 pm

well if you crop it in the right way…

[...]
[actually, no comment - Ed.]

64 LuvBJones 08.29.07 at 8:12 pm

Metz, I think we’ve just discovered how Darling Husband & Teho stay so young looking … so young … *LuvB dashes out to rub cat on face and hands*

65 Pheas 08.29.07 at 8:31 pm

Dateline: Interwebs

Cuteologists discover the long-sought-after Fountain of Floof. Film at, er, right now.

66 kel13123 08.29.07 at 8:48 pm

maybe it was just the video, but didn’t that look like a little boy and not quite a husband?? very good snorgleage though…

67 kel13123 08.29.07 at 8:50 pm

also, Amy- what the heck is a cube farm?? (pardon my ignorance, but I’m getting a great visual of mama cubes and little baby cubes, maybe all different colors?)

68 Theo 08.29.07 at 8:55 pm

Kel13123 — re: “cube farm” — in movie terms, think “Office Space”
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0151804/

69 Silent Meow (not loud meow) 08.29.07 at 9:07 pm

If I were to snorgle like in the vid, I’d have lots of cat hair in my mouth. I’d have to keep pulling cat hair out from between my teeth. My meals would be full of cat hair for a while. Soup de cat hair. Cat hair sandwich. Apple pie a la cat hair. And, etc.

70 Theo 08.29.07 at 9:08 pm

Cat hair is a condiment.

71 Silent Meow (sssshhhh! meow silently! the kitten is sleeping!) 08.29.07 at 9:10 pm

Theo, love the link you sent me. That is way too cute animayshun.

72 Silent Meow (meow meow meow meow....Silence! Kitten please I'm taking a nap!) 08.29.07 at 9:12 pm

Theo, exactly. Next time you have a hamburger or hot dog, choose mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, relish, and cat hair.

73 Paige 08.29.07 at 9:16 pm

Adorables. Just plain adorables.

77 Annie 08.30.07 at 12:07 am

silent meow let me just say we have four cats currently and welll…. Cat hair Happens. And happens and happens.
I am now a vacuuming fool.

78 jernobyl 08.30.07 at 12:16 am

It is a sad, sad story that if I did that, I would die of sneeze.

79 Silent Meow (quiet kitteh) 08.30.07 at 1:33 am

Annie, so you eat cat hair in your meals?

I don’t actually own any cats at the moment, so I wouldn’t know.

I’ve heard cat hair can be a bear to get up.

80 Sarah 08.30.07 at 1:36 am

I love the tolerance of that cat. He obviously thinks the whole thing is ridiculous but he’ll go along with it to be a good friend.

81 Annie 08.30.07 at 1:38 am

YEp occasionaly kitty fur floats down and gets into food. Not often but we used to have two not a problem then two more presto fur everywhere. I vacuum lots now it helps.

82 Metz 08.30.07 at 1:57 am

pet hair? you wanna talk about pet hair???

Try pet hair tumbleweeds wafting gently through the house from 5 dogs & 3 cats.

We gots enough to make spare pets to keep around in case of emergencies.

We’ve had 2 vacuums give notice & quit on us.

83 Noelegy 08.30.07 at 2:01 am

Nothing takes the edge off a bad day like coming home and huffing some kitten fur.

84 Aubrey 08.30.07 at 3:26 am

Over 80 comments! That’s what I call Much Ado About Huffing.

85 NYgirly 08.30.07 at 3:29 am

LOL Theo ^^

could expand to ‘critters and crotches’

no telling what kind of submissions would come in :/

86 MC 08.30.07 at 3:56 am

Eta simpateechnaya koshka :)

The most important phrase in Russian!

87 The Honourable Gladys Anstruther 08.30.07 at 6:17 am

I wonder if you can get pet hair woven? My Stan has the softest hair imaginable it would make a great scarf, perhaps I’ll just wear him this winter.

88 Embino 08.30.07 at 6:33 am

I used to do this all the time to my kitty Tasman – I would pick him up and rub my face on his tummy. He had the softest tummy in the whole wide world.

89 Michelle 08.30.07 at 11:00 am

Gladys, you can indeed spin and knit/weave many kinds of animal fur and hair. Dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. There are even services that will take the fur or hair and card and spin it for you! :D

90 ceejoe 08.30.07 at 1:40 pm

michelle – can you provide a link to such a service?
that would be *so* cool!
I could use some of all of my ten cats – it’d go with every outfit!

91 Tortellinka 08.30.07 at 3:30 pm

I like the music.
exciting!
meow.

92 The Honourable Gladys Anstruther 08.30.07 at 3:40 pm

Michelle perhaps you can provide a link. When I have tried previous Google searches, I got nowhere.

93 Annie 08.30.07 at 4:59 pm

Here you go peeps here are just a couple of links. If you want more search pet hair Yarn.

http://www.mlecmn.net/~tjfulton/pethair.htm

http://www.vipfibers.com

http://www.doggienews.com/2005/01/vip-fibers-pet-hair-yarn.htm

http://spinningstrawintogold.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

or if you want jewelry which includes your pets hair in it search pet hair woven.
here is one of those links

http://joem351.home.comcast.net/

94 Some girl 08.30.07 at 5:32 pm

http://www.vipfibers.com
http://www.petyarn.com

Basically, google “pet yarn”.

95 Vicki 08.30.07 at 6:40 pm

The cat’s like “ho hum!”.

96 Faraday 08.30.07 at 6:47 pm

Now will that cat stick to the ceiling?

97 joools 08.30.07 at 11:17 pm

I once found a cat hair in the ice cube tray.

There’s a woman here in Portland OR who knits dog hair scarves… usually Collie… can’t recall her name but a friend at Humane Society has one. Don’t know what happens when they get wet. =D

98 Maria 08.30.07 at 11:30 pm

Ugh. Sorry, not cute. My eyes are swollen and itchy just watching this!

99 lauowolf 09.01.07 at 2:17 am

Cat hair?
No, insoluble dietary fiber.
Roughage.

100 vlohma 09.01.07 at 4:00 pm

And then, with one deft movement, the electrically charged cat was positioned securely on the ceiling.
