Whoa. Those shorts are almost NSFW. My mom never woulda let me wear those in the 80s!

  2. fizzygrrl says:

    AWWW!!! Such cute puppage!

  3. Kaye says:

Ahah, I was thinking that too, hey-h. (Like I’d ever have the body to wear them anyway.. D:)
    The puppy’s cute, though. :3

  4. Leah B says:

Too cute for the camera its melting, falling like hot liquid to the floor. Ouch burn sustanied but not to worry puppage your to cute to hurt. Your kisses will make all the pain go away.

  5. liz says:

this is so cute . it could totally be used in advertising. i love it.

  6. Golden says:

I assume Mr. Puppypants is in heaven now. (man.. I hope I’m not a nuff for saying that!)

    Hey.. Polaroids are GREAT.

  7. Pheas says:

Why NSFW? They appear to be knee-length.

Now the puppeh, *that* ain’t safe for work. Meltingks, asplosions. Somebody call OSHA.

  8. liz says:

    hmm
i think those dolphin shorts have been re-styles a bit.
i think ours were hi waisted, didnt have a drawstring, and they were made out of either nylon (that was very thin) or some cheap-o shiny stuff that was supposed to look like silk. (oh ya- they were gross) but we thought we were pretty hhhhhot!
AND worn with a tube – top and some nice wedgie sandles OOOOO baby! what a fox!

  9. NYgirly says:

i wub when a puppeh has a pink nose

–makes me think he has a cold like when Chilly Willy (http://www.80stees.com/images/products/Heart_Chilly_Willy-JrTee.jpg) would fall through the ice and his friend the dog would pull him out frozen in a block, thaw him and the block out by the fire and then Willy would have a pink nose to indicate he had a cold along with sneezing and blowing and his nose.

my parents didn’t let me wear dolphin shorts either 0_o

  10. luvinmalssomuch says:

oh yeah liz I remember. And yeah we didn’t think we were hot we knew it. Our hip huggers, tube tops, body suits, and they’re all coming back in style.

That puppy is always in style, I’d wear him anytime.

  11. NYgirly says:

gahhhh! stoopit link doesn’t work now, try dis one:

  12. DKN says:

    LOL at the hover text!

And LIZ, don’t forget the Dr. Scholls.

  13. luvinmalssomuch says:

Dr. Scholls that claimed to exercise your legs. I need me a pair.
    Mini skirts, maxi, midi.

  14. ceejoe says:

    omg, body suits…
    lol…

  15. DejaMew (tx-usa) says:

my shorts back then weren’t dolphins…they were “Hang Tens”. With the little foots logo and everything…and in satin along with a matching satin trimmed teeny t-top. The bestest things to wear if you had a good tan. And some of my friends wore “titties” shoes. :) )

  16. luvinmalssomuch says:

ceejoe, they could be very dangerous you had to be careful with the snap so you didn’t take some skin with it. too much info.

  17. Golden says:

What about jump suits.. was that what they were called? Pants and a shirt all in one?

  18. liz says:

well, i didnt get the dr scholls shoes.
my mother about had a hissy when she found out a pair of Sanfrancisco Riding Gear were (freaking out now) ALMOST THRITY DOLLARS!!!!!
    so, i didnt get any.
but I did have puppies and kitties and all kinds of pets. so it was all good.:)
oh ya- we did have “earth shoes” that had thick souls in the front and tapered off to zero soul at the heel. oh ya. and Clogs! Crazy weird!

  19. liz says:

    yep-
jump suit’s usually came with the “camel toe” hahahaha!

  20. DejaMew (tx-usa) says:

And i drove Gran Torino…ala Starsky & Hutch. And we tanned with baby oil spice with iodine. Any else remember that?

  21. DejaMew (tx-usa) says:

;) ) i left out a word or two in my previous posts…forgive my haste

  22. luvinmalssomuch says:

EEEEH GAD and to think we though we looked good in jump suits. How about the hideous pants suits. In gym we had one piece shirt set blue striped zipper in back. We would turn it around to look cool.

  23. liz says:

i had a 72 monte carlo and we “tanned” with baby oil and a spray bottle of water. My BFF used the iodine thing a couple times.
but usually we just layed out and fried our butts all day til we couldnt move.
    (stupid) live and learn.
oh. and we drank wine coolers til our heads felt like they were going to explode.

  24. Marie says:

If this is not the most beautiful puppy ever, it’s very close. Man!

What a super-gorgeous face! That face was made to be photographed, branded and licensed.

  25. luvinmalssomuch says:

Don’t forget the sun in for your hair for the lovely orange streaks.

  26. DejaMew (tx-usa) says:

    very sweet pup pic, btw.

My Gran Torino was a 72 and i had a blast with it! Passed it down to my lil sister who’d rather have a truck. :) ) She was more tomboy than me. But that was a sweet ride for a high schooler back in the day.

  27. liz says:

hey! and the QT for when the sun wasnt HOT enough!

  28. Yes, my name is really Cricket says:

I still have my pink with blue stripe shorts… I never really wore them, my legs are way too short. I wore Jams. I loved my Jams. Almost as much as I love this puppy!

  29. Pheas says:

Oh, y’all are talking about the linked shorts, not the shorts on puppeh’s human. Nevermind.

I couldn’t bring myself to click away from CO when I saw that pupper.

  30. DejaMew (tx-usa) says:

yep. I used that “Sun-In” product at times and also the clairol home blonde highlights…with the cap and crochet tool to pull hair thru the holes. :) )

  31. ceejoe says:

omg, I remember those gym suits! and I’m in Michigan! to think, we all wore those ugly things all over the country!
    eeeeeek!!!!

  32. luvinmalssomuch says:

ceejoe, I can’t believe it you wore them too. I’m from MD. Oh the torture of it. When we started turning the suit around to have the zipper in the front we were sent directly to the showers. slap hand

  33. DejaMew (tx-usa) says:

but no matter what i was up to, i was always cruising to “Running on Empty” by Jackson Browne…cranked up all the way.

  34. Shannon Johnson says:

    Such a cute puppy.

  35. mlle_x says:

Ahm so in luv with that puppeh.

My unfortunate dolphin shorts were for track team, blue and white striped (school colors, natch) and purchased next door to a Peaches Records and Tapes, so to this day, whenever I hear Billy Squire’s opus “The Stroke,” I can’t help but cringe on many levels. Recently, I saw a picture of myself in them and happily wasn’t nearly as chubby as I remember myself being, though!

  36. luvinmalssomuch says:

Oh wow dejamew, ME too! Oh the days. Marco Polo, Green light red light, kick the can. Hold it I’m giving my age away. No cell phones, tv dinners, no backpacks.

  37. luvinmalssomuch says:

    Culottes!!

  38. liz says:

no lap tops, dvd players or even vhs tapes! no mp3 players, no cable (when we were very young).
and when we were little and mom and dad werent so well off, we had black and white tv! and NO REMOTE!!!!
    How did we LIVE???

  39. liz says:

ugh. culottes. dont get me started.
i got SO teased about the culottes.

  40. luvinmalssomuch says:

Liz, Amazing isn’t it that we got through that awful time. LOL
Didn’t need a cell phone when we were little we just came home when the street lights came on.
Elementary school had to wear dresses and pants under them when it was cold. Went to school in the snow, mud, rain.

  41. luvinmalssomuch says:

Culottes are back in style and have been for some time. They just are called something different.

  42. Holly says:

Oh, I had the Dr. Scholl clogs with the buckle on them. My friend and I use to kick them in the air to see how far we could make them fly. Well, her’s flew behind her head and hit me in the eye. My first and only black eye.

    Oh 80′s!

  43. ooooooooooooooooooh !!

    pup perfection !!!!

  44. liz says:

    luvinmalssomuch
    are you talking about skorts?
those lil shorts with a skirt attached?
    those are cute!
yep, girls were not allowed to wear pants at school til i was in about 4th grade.
and we DID wear pants under when it was cold, and sometimes shorts under if the dress was too short and you wanted to go on the monkey bars at recess…!

  45. NotSupposedToBeDoingThisAtWork says:

omg… i came for the cute puppy and now i’m having neon-madonna-bracelet and spandex bikeshorts worn as clothing flashbacks… gah! oh, bartles and jaymes, how i loved thee…. XD

  46. luvinmalssomuch says:

Would love to stay and geez but I have to turn off my computer, calculator. Get my cell phone, turn alarm off my car, call in a pizza ……….Oh Yes the 80′s.

  47. liz says:

    NotSupposedToBeDoingThisAtWork -
    this is pretty fun though!
    ugh- the “copy madonna” years.
what the heck were we thinking?
how about the big-long-layered hair, with the stickin-up rooster hair sprayed solid like “working girl” hair do! oh the humanity!!!! make it stop!

  48. NotSupposedToBeDoingThisAtWork says:

liz, lol! yeah, i love going through the old photo albums, if only to reind myself to never do that again… :D

i don’t know about you, but i had “Working Girl” hair PLUS Jersey girl hair… all with lace headband bow thing, of course. also neon.

i think my hair was bigger than my senior prom date!

  49. Jill-e-b says:

    Best. Nosicle. Ever!

  50. liz says:

    oh ya me too.
WITH the Aqua-Net hairspray!I’m suprised I didnt put someones eye out!

  51. mm says:

Now I’ll have Bon Jovi in my head for the rest of the day.

I really do miss the 80s.

  52. This made me sad because puppies don’t live to age 25. Such a cute, cute little guy…That’s the saddest thing about doggies, they pass away to soon.

  53. Emma says:

    That’s absolutely adorable!

  54. Theresa says:

Everyone’s favorite song in 1982 was (all together now):
“You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar . . .”

Come on, even Chips Ahoy cookies are still singing it. ;)

  55. Meg, we need to have a 70′s & 80′s Polaroid category. I can fill it up for you. I think I damaged my cats’ vision from all the up close pictures I took of them.

  56. Theresa says:

PS Madonna didn’t show her little fishnet fingerless gloves until the next year.

I saw her at Danceteria, singing “Celebrate” and I thought she was one of the most utterly talentless people I had ever seen. Why I’m not in showbiz. :P

  57. I’m thinking those might be OP (Ocean Pacific) brand shorts. All the Jeff Spicoli wannabes wore them back in the day. With their Oakley Razor or faux Rayban sunglasses.

  58. Theo says:

Theresa — “Holiday”? (you’re right about it being no kind of breakthrough, though)

  59. Theresa says:

Oh right, “Holiday.” She had her hair in cornrows at the time, and she sounded to us exactly like one of our kid sisters singing in the bathroom.

So of course, in just a few months time, all our kid sisters would be imitating her when they did their bathroom-singing. :P

  60. Matt says:

    Cute.

Hey folks, click on my name (below) to read about a different cute puppy in trouble.

  61. Ajax says:

I feel old. Please, no more flashbacks to the eighties.

  62. bugmom says:

Must comment on the chocolate nose. It is too adorable and probably very nibbleable!!!

Can’t comment on much else because for the first few years of the 80s I was in diapers and the rest of it my mommy dressed me ;)

  63. kimmykim says:

aaaawwwww i could stare at this picture all day long!

  64. Free iPhone says:

    Awww… that’s very cute.

  65. R. Moore says:

Ah, the eighties. I’m too young to have tried to tan or dye my hair or any such silliness, but yeah… There were some looks, weren’t there? :P

  66. Subhangi says:

Cute pupster! And those dolphin shorts are neat … they’re great for jogging.

1982 … Good grief, my parents hadn’t even MET back then! :-O

  67. I’ve been trying so hard to talk myself out of getting a puppy soon. This is NOT, repeat NOT helping!

  68. Tugs says:

I had long sleeved velvet alligator shirt in the early 80′s. It did not have a collar so I wore it backwards to school one day by mistake. I was in junior high at the time so it was pretty mortifying.

  69. The Honourable Gladys Anstruther says:

Polaroids pictures have a lovely quality about them and the pupsters sure cute.

  70. Serena says:

    SO FUZZZYYYY!!! *loves*

  71. kk3 says:

Theresa, I L-O-V-E that song…even today! The music was soooo much better in the 70′s and 80′s!

But the way…did everyone notice the cute little nosey?!!!

  72. J. Bo says:

I think I may die from cuteness and nostalgia– a LETHAL combination!

  73. luvinmalssomuch says:

Liz, Yeah that’s it skorts. I really hated to leave work yesterday because I had to leave the nostalgia. The 70′s and 80′s music, the Best.

  80. liz says:

i love that we are such a diverse group. and we all do “just get along” !
    very nice.

  81. Margaret says:

Ah, 1982. Thriller, The Falklands War, the defeat of the ERA, and my little brother was born! Crazy times!

  82. Rachel of Cyberia says:

See kids, in the olden days, shorts were actually SHORT.
socks went to your knees, though.

  83. jimmy says:

If I could just find one like that for my little daughter I’d be set.
