One of my friend’s cats likes to do this, but as far as I know, he isn’t diabetic. My little Spanky was recently diagnosed as diabetic. I saw he’d lost a little weight and took him to the vet, so it was caught pretty early. I give him his shots twice daily, usually while he’s eating and is diverted (2 cc’s). His checkup this past Saturday showed that he’d actually gained about a pound or so, and his sugar, while still on the high side, has dropped some, which made me very happy. He has, however, always drank water from a dish, just a little less ravenously now. So glad, and so sorry for those who’ve posted their losses here. My heart goes out to you.

Annie, it’s ten years since I last owned a cat and I must admit I’d forgotten what strange tastes they have. What self-respecting moggy would drink clean water when the garden is full of muddy, insect-infested puddles?

the most delicious water is the water with plant cuttings in it that are waiting to be transplanted. Not only is it muddy but a little slimy too…mmm…Miss Huggum’s personal favorite

this goes for ceriel bowl milk too.

Metz, I’ve found out why Daisy isn’t using her water bowl – she’s been drinking from puddles in the garden, and since England has been battered by torrential rain almost every day for the past month she’s got plenty to choose from!

Is Ebony a boy or girl cat? Looks just like our beloved Mushu who fell out of a 3rd floor window when she lunged at some pigeons… the screen was very old and gave way easily. We didn;t know because we had just moved in. Anyway, Mushu did not die but someone took her and won’t give her back. My husband still cries when we talk about her, she was his baby. This was almost 3 years ago and he says he won’t stop looking.

Ebony is adorable. Mushu has the same little white dot on her chest, so cute!
