Nobody’s gonna eat that sweet, cuddly, adorable, snorglicious little bunny, not if I have anything to say about it!
*hugs bunny, very gently*
This is one cottontail that Mr. MacGregor is never going to get his hands on!

31 Paulie 06.02.07 at 2:59 pm

I might not technically eat it , but I may just have to house the bunneh in my mouth for a skosh.

32 Lauri 06.02.07 at 3:45 pm

Hee, Paulie! A skosh! I like that word.

33 thepetmuseum 06.02.07 at 4:02 pm

36 WTF? 06.02.07 at 5:06 pm

I’m sorry, but WTF is up w/ the ad talking about a kidnapped husband? Is this some kind of sick joke? Meg, your better than this WE are better than this!

“Enter Court TV’s 8 Day Mystery Challenge. See Official Rules. $25,000 prize will be shared among all eligible entrants who solve the mystery. Ends 6:00 am ET on June 12, 2007.

All character names, company names, and pharmaceutical names are fictional. Any evidence to the contrary is completely inadvertent.”

37 seth 06.02.07 at 5:29 pm

yeah – what the hell is that site about? talk about preying on cuteoverload’s sense of empathy.

really, shame on whoever made the site, and to meg too for accepting the ad. sorry meg, but that isn’t right.

38 P. Erasmus 06.02.07 at 5:56 pm

No wonder bunnies procreate so prolifically. They are streamlined so that momma bunnies can pop them out like: pop-poppopopopopp-pop-pop …. pop.

39 Happy LOL Day 06.02.07 at 6:02 pm

So cute how it looks like momma bunz carefully combed the fur to look nice. :)
Bebe gonna be in pix must look sweet! :)

I have a family of bunnies in my backyard. They are too cute for words and my kittys go nuts watching them (from inside of course!). Super sweet bunnage!

41 Bev 06.02.07 at 7:53 pm

I agree, peeps, what was Meg high on when she accepted such a demented ad to be placed on this wonderful site? Kidnappings are no joke. How dare someone try to make money off the idea!

42 Yitzysmommie 06.02.07 at 8:58 pm

Never mind nawming him, I’m going to use him for a powder poof!

43 Yitzysmommie 06.02.07 at 9:05 pm

For the Ad Nuffs:
It’s an ad for courttv. It says right on it “dramatization”. I sincerely doubt Miss Meg approves /selects every ad that appears here.
Ifn ya don’t like it, don’t look at it. I never even noticed it until the Nuffs started nuffing about it……

44 Diane 06.02.07 at 9:14 pm

He’s a little pill for depression; should go right down with a glass of water. I suffer from a chronic illness, and I have to say whenever the negative energy is attacking me, I come to this site and it takes a good bit of it away. Maybe all antidepresssant pills should be shaped like bunnies…

45 Yitzysmommie 06.02.07 at 9:18 pm

Diane: or kittens or puppies. Not sure that ray shaped antidepressants would have a big market :-)

46 Becca 06.02.07 at 9:25 pm

here thumper

47 darkshines 06.02.07 at 10:08 pm

You know, I was thinking today, why is it we call rabbits “bunnies”? Is there some historical reference? It seems such a random word!

48 Dale 06.02.07 at 10:31 pm

Darkshines–according to etymonline.com

bunny
1690, dim. of Scottish dialectal bun, pet name for “rabbit,” previously (1587) for “squirrel,” and also a term of endearment for a young attractive woman or child (1606). Ultimately could be from Scottish bun “tail of a hare” (1538), or from Fr. bon, or from a Scand. source.

Which I think is basically referenceworkspeak for they don´t know.

49 Heather 06.03.07 at 1:19 am

Yitzysmommie, don’t you think Meg should use her ad space with a dose of conciousness? If she’s going to make money off pics of cute animals, the least she could do is be more respectful! We are talking about a fake kidnapping of a loved one! What right does Meg have playing off people’s emotions like that, and for money? If she doesn’t have control over her ad space, than she doesn’t deserve the title “Web Developer”. Only a fool would let an agency ruin their website like this. Meg isn’t a fool , she should know better. We expect better.

50 Suda Nim 06.03.07 at 3:53 am

I’m not sure about “rabbit” and “bunny,” but in English, one reason there are double words for so many things is that the Norman conquerers added French words to the original Anglo-Saxon.

Generally, the Saxon word is the more crude or everyday version, while the Frenchified is more upscale, since the Normans became the upper class.

In cooking, this manifests itself where the name of the animal tends to be Saxon, while the name of the meat is French-derived.

Thus, Saxon “cow, pig, chicken,” French-ish “beef, pork, poultry.”

It’s also why a lot of legal terms are double as well, such as “null and void.”

/pedantry

oh. and SQUEEEEEEEEEE!

51 constance 06.03.07 at 4:35 am

………it’s contest….I sure hope none of you saw pirates, because that was capitalizing on the kiddnappings/hardships/deaths of others! I hope you’ve never played clue! You surely condone murder if you do! And I CERTAINLY hope none of you have watched shows which involve any type of crime whatsoever.

Seriously. Get real. It’s a contest, from a TV station and I’ll bet you that the people whinin about it went a head and entered!

52 Noush 06.03.07 at 10:03 am

yef yef thif bunneh if veli deliciouf :)

53 Dale 06.03.07 at 1:10 pm

I always assumed they were called buns because they looked like delicious lumps of sweet baked dough…and when you pick them up, they leave raisins.

54 Annie 06.03.07 at 7:43 pm

Thanks Constance I was gonna go there but I was sounding too B****y. You were perfect.
I was going with well then you must never watch tv, movies , videos , Read books or listen to the radio. And then.. WEll that would be the B****y part so I won’t go into that!

55 mervtheflamingo 06.04.07 at 12:07 am

I originally posted (a few posts ago….pirate pom…) about the ad. My complaint didn’t rest with Meg, but with Court TV’s strategy. There are ethics to advertising, and playing upon a person’s sympathy to a lost loved one is messed up. Its not Meg’s fault, it is Court TV being tacky. It is not the same thing as watching Columbo or CSI or anything, the advertisement pulls you in because you believe someone was actually harmed, and then you discover the contest.

56 Pam 06.04.07 at 12:29 am

Maybe “fake” should be the first word in the ad, then, constance. Funny I don’t see anything like it, do you? For the record I don’t own a TV , haven’t watched one in many years. And I don’t pay hard earned cash to watch stupid movies. Do you?

I come to this website to get away from the sick sellout that is America. SO SAD to see Meg sell her soul to the devil for a few bucks.

57 metsakins 06.04.07 at 2:07 am

I suspect that when you sign up with an advertiser you do not have control of the content. I agree with Merv and I have complained to court tv. If I was Meg, it would have never occurred to me that they could do an ad so distastefull. This is the first ad for court tv that has ever upset me.

58 Kara 06.04.07 at 2:14 am

*adsCourtTVadsfightnuffads*

…. ZOMG LOOK ITZ A BUNNEH!!!!!!!!!

/me points up frantically

BUNNYBUNNYBUNNYBUNNY!!!!!!

… will no one think of the bunny?

59 Constance 06.04.07 at 2:31 am

…if you were soooooooo overly concerned with the plight of the woman in the ad, I’m SURE you would have wanted to see…nay, been COMPELLED to click the ad and then see, in large, bold letters, not only all of the things about the CONTEST but the DISCLAIMER at the bottom as well.

Causing you..what? at most…7 or 8 seconds of “heart wrenching angst”?

and yes, kara, that bunny…is squeedorable.

60 Clay Dowling 06.04.07 at 12:43 pm

What a delightful late-night snack. We don’t see those in our yard any more, some of the residents seem to have enjoyed their snacks.

61 Emmerly 06.04.07 at 5:33 pm

Hee hee! Talk about a daily dose of cuteness! In convenient fuzzy lozenge form!

62 Mary 06.04.07 at 5:52 pm

Well, huh. Not to get on the same side as the “nuffs” but I didn’t realize that ad was not real.
I love the bunbun though.

63 Bella 06.04.07 at 8:56 pm

I will name him George and I will hug him and squeeze him and pat him and pet him and….
