Actually I think he was scratching at his face with his front paw and hit his ear. Hince the ear up eye closed and someone got lucky and caught this moment, this nano second of time, on film. (we who try to take pictures of our pets know how lucky this shot actually was)
CBF: I’ve read about those. In some cases it’s just a huge amount of matted fur (notice they’re almost always long-haired cats). In other cases it’s a genetic deformity that makes their skin very elastic and it stretches out to look like wings. For some reason it often happens in the same place on cats. Unfortunately, the deformity often causes the skin to become very weak and easily tears.
