Okay, I understand everything but the safari guy in stilettos picking the cat’s nose…

But cute cat.

[It wasn't a pick! There was no pick! - Ed.feld]

2 China's Mom 05.25.07 at 11:48 pm

What a sweet little bebeh! I remember when mine would sleep in my arms that way, God I LOVE kittens!

3 Kaye 05.25.07 at 11:49 pm

He’s beeping the kitteh’s nose, Hobbit!

4 Martha in Washington 05.25.07 at 11:49 pm

Theo, that looks like the perfect weekend to me! Can I join you? You live in Minnesota or someplace right? Let me just MapQuest that.

5 SlaveToThreeFelines 05.26.07 at 12:01 am

This looks just like my Katie Scarlett O’Hara when she was but a wee one. Her fur might have been a tad longer though. She still lays like that and she’s almost 9! She’s the queen of the household, and a good guard kitty. She has to know all that is going on, but she makes sure she hisses at everyone a few times to let them know she is THE QUEEN.

6 Katy with a Capital K 05.26.07 at 12:01 am

That’s adorable. I do wish there weren’t a cartoon guy with words popping up all over it – it’s cute as is, but eh, whatever.

7 annie 05.26.07 at 12:03 am

good Choice Theo. I feel the peace of the Purr Right thru the Computer screen. And the beep on your shirt matches the finger poke of the safari Guy. Did you do that on Poipose/ HEHEHE

LOVE THE RCF!

8 HRH 05.26.07 at 12:12 am

the strange safari guy in stilettos is the one and only THEO, prancing around in privacy,

Anh!!!

9 tblue 05.26.07 at 12:20 am

Prosh tortie looks a lot like my darling Maine Coon cat Tango, now 22 months old. Similar markings, but Tango has a clean orange stripe down her nose, an orange right front foot, and one orange toe on her left hind foot.

She was a feral stray I adopted when she was just 10 weeks old. I named her Tango as a kittiefied version of “Tangerine,” for her pretty orange markings. Silly me–I forgot that the 9-month-old rescue kitty I had adopted the previous month was named “Paris,” a name the rescue society had given her and asked me to keep.

So now whenever people meet my kitties, they think I named them after the Marlon Brando movie “The Last Tango in Paris.”

10 Theo 05.26.07 at 12:23 am

Katy — OK — I added a link to the un-cartooned original.

11 tblue 05.26.07 at 12:25 am

BTW, I had to copy-paste the pic into a Word document so I could look at it and squee without the constant distraction of the safari guy and the words blocking out teh cute.

12 lemura 05.26.07 at 12:26 am

I have pussy envy.

Theo gets all the cute pussies.

Hmmmmmmmph.

13 constance 05.26.07 at 12:27 am

I need help!

I found a baby kitten under a car and have since taken to rasing him (he’s tooo cute) he’s growing like a weed but my dogs seem to think he’s lunch! what can I do about this? I turn to you, cute overloaders, for advice!

14 fluidstatic 05.26.07 at 12:38 am

now you need to do just that, in that order, about that fast.

Nibblenibble
Squeezesqueeze
Pokey-pokey BEEP!!!

XD

15 metsakins 05.26.07 at 12:40 am

I would introduce them slowly and keep them separate when your not around. I also discipline inapproriate behavior but I’m not going to open that can of worms. I had a dog and two cats when growing up and the cats were given to us by their mom when she decided we were a good home. Everyone got along.

Theo –kitty is a beauty.

16 Suda Nim 05.26.07 at 12:41 am

Constance:

This is how my trainer worked with me and my dog (singular).

Put a harness on the dog so it’s easy to grab without pulling on its neck. Have treats at your disposal (I highly recommend CharleeBear; they’re small so you can feed lots at one session, and dry so you don’t get your hands all smelly. At PetsMart).

Have the dog lie down while the cats are around. Hold onto the harness’s back strap whenever necessary. Do the *ahn* unpleasant nasal noise whenever the dog makes any sort of physical motion or over-stares at the cats.

Make attractive noises so the dog wants to look at you. Whenever it doesn’t pay attention to the cats, reward it with a “good dog!” and a treat.

The object is to teach the dog that leaving cats alone leads to Good Things.

Since you have multiple dogs, I don’t really know how to adapt this, except to suggest that you take one dog at a time into a room with the cats.

Anyone else?

17 metsakins 05.26.07 at 12:47 am

I’d start by doing it separately as well. We however liked our kats and doggie to interact.

Suda – do your cats and dog play together now? Just curious.

18 hautemustard 05.26.07 at 12:55 am

Ed.feld . . does no one enjoy the “Monty Python”-esque humor of it all? barbarians

19 Suda Nim 05.26.07 at 12:56 am

Metsakins,

Well, I never got to find out. The dog died before training was complete. But it did seem to be working. Cats are also long gone, and one dog I have right now is so extremely prey-agressive that I would never even try.

The original dog was raised with the cats since he was a puppy. It was just as he became a snotty young-adult 2-year-old that he tried becoming boss.

20 Chelsea 05.26.07 at 12:57 am

I love how even the shirt changes to say ‘beep’.

Aaadorable, Theo! :D

21 Happy LOL Day 05.26.07 at 12:58 am

wow soo much like my girl Cleo (she is an angel baby now). I so adore the cocoa-torty kitties. Makes me sad and happy all at once! But mainly happy.

22 metsakins 05.26.07 at 12:58 am

I was just wondering if the guy in heels knows any lumberjacks

23 metsakins 05.26.07 at 1:00 am

My dog played with the cats. and one of the cats would run up to him and head butt him. that was also a longtime ago.

24 metsakins 05.26.07 at 1:05 am

While we’re asking for advice I have a problem thats bothering me. Up until 3 months ago I had 3 kats and Handsome was the boss. He cleaned them and took turns sleeping with them when a lap wasn’t available. the other 2 kats never minded each other but weren’t crazy about each other. Now Handsome is gone. One cat is adjusting well but the other one really misses him and tries to get the other cat to groom him and play with him. Other cat having none of it. Short of getting a kitten for the lonely one, can u think of anyway I can improve the relationship between them?

25 Aubrey 05.26.07 at 1:12 am

“I was just wondering if the guy in heels knows any lumberjacks”

Doubt it, but I believe he knows quite well the fish-slapping dance.

26 metsakins 05.26.07 at 1:14 am

thanks I forgot about that one

27 SeaBreeze 05.26.07 at 1:20 am

Awwww! =) SO cute!! n prosh beyond beliefs!! =)

28 CCat 05.26.07 at 1:27 am

Nibble, nibble, squeeze, squeeze, pokey, pokey, beep?

Wow, sounds like you’ve got a full schedule.

29 CCat 05.26.07 at 1:31 am

Oh, and forgive me for commenting again, but it’s nice to see the return of the High-Heeled Nose Beeper Dude.

30 Annie 05.26.07 at 1:51 am

Metsakins, Give them plenty of time to readjust at least two months before bringing in another little one. They will work out the relationship. As long as they are not drawing blood.

31 Shannon Johnson 05.26.07 at 2:12 am

Very nice. That’s how my cat Rudy looked when he wanted to be very lazy.

32 lurkingsmirk 05.26.07 at 2:37 am

I want that to be my weekend too!

33 acelightning 05.26.07 at 2:59 am

So your plans for the weekend revolve around being cuddled by a young man with hairy forearms? (Actually, that doesn’t sound so bad at all… especially if he also brings me drinks and snacks…)

34 Merri 05.26.07 at 3:18 am

Amen Theo!! He looks like our tortie Minki. I actually said “AWWWW” out loud when seeing this!! Theo is adorable!

35 Tina Rhea 05.26.07 at 3:25 am

Nibble nibble squeeze squeeze pokey pokey beep? The amount of kitten abuse that goes on here is just appalling…. Let the poor girl sleep!

36 svo 05.26.07 at 3:27 am

theo, you suck

37 Pamlet 05.26.07 at 3:29 am

Tuni looks so comfy!

38 useta hada kitteh 05.26.07 at 3:40 am

I think the Tuni dance needs to be put to music — nibble nibble, squeeze squeeze, pokey pokey, beep, UHN! nibble nibble, squeeze squeeze, pokey pokey, beep, cha cha cha! and like that. Have a wonderful weekend, Teho — but what about the other kitterguyses? Do they get any beeps and things, too?

39 Katy with a Capital K 05.26.07 at 3:54 am

Thank ya, Theo. ;)

40 Ex-Network Geek 05.26.07 at 4:00 am

Squeee!

Oh my gosh, how cute is that kitty? Theo, is this the closest we get to your kittens ‘n’ rack? I have one (13 years old) that will still sleep in my arms like that and right now is probably thinking, “yeah, sounds like a good weekend plan to me.” But she doesn’t claw me up like it looks like these guys have been doing to you!

Shouldn’t the beep guy have a tutu?

41 Subhangi 05.26.07 at 4:35 am

LOL!

Now I’m jealous … I have WORK on the weekend. :’(

42 Tessa, NYC 05.26.07 at 6:00 am

This baby looks so much like my long-haired tortie who’s an absolute drama queen. In fact, we refer to her as “The Other Princess of Wails.”

43 echo 05.26.07 at 6:36 am

Theo, you lucky *******! I so envy you.

44 gogglesonmyhead 05.26.07 at 8:35 am

Aww, she looks like my Jackie as a kitten, except Jackie has sand-colored toes.

45 Snorgle Pup 05.26.07 at 10:43 am

Give them nibbles & snorgles for me too. I also have to work…

46 sas 05.26.07 at 11:48 am

I wanna do what Theo’s doing this weekend. :’(

Love the Gooshyfood!! :D All of a sudden my household of one kitteh doesn’t seem sufficient… at least not for a feeding frenzy!

47 Yitzysmommie 05.26.07 at 1:44 pm

Tuni ‘N Teho’s rack = SQUEEE!
May you have a floofalicious kitten cuddle squeeze nibble and pokey weekend with all the kitters, Mr Theo.

48 one of the erins 05.26.07 at 3:06 pm

acelightning– you’re right, I wouldn’t mind that either.

49 Teughcats 05.26.07 at 3:13 pm

Finally saw the gooshyfood frenzy – very funny! But at the risk of being labeled a nuff, please be careful with the open cans and kitty tongues! The vet who runs our cat rescue has terrified us with the story of a cat who essentially amputated its own tongue on the edge of a gooshyfood can and didn’t survive. We have to keep the cans away from the bebbehs or it’s instant expulsion from the volunteer list.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled snorgling session…

50 Theo 05.26.07 at 4:18 pm

2Cats — noted, thanks

51 Natalie 05.26.07 at 4:27 pm

Awww, I love the captions. Too cute, and that is such a sweet little baby!

52 Theresa 05.26.07 at 4:27 pm

Dat not pokin’, dat beepin’.

53 Theo 05.26.07 at 4:38 pm

Goggles — I like this one!

Looks like there might be an ad in the way, though… OK, here’s another URL for the same pic:

54 Teughcats 05.26.07 at 4:49 pm

Theo –
I know you are the world’s best cat dad and I hope I didn’t offend, but the can thing was something I didn’t know about until recently even tho I do a lot of fostering too, so just wanted to pass it on. Happy kitten weekend!

55 R. Moore 05.26.07 at 6:42 pm

I have a dirty mind :(

56 Annie 05.26.07 at 6:55 pm

R.Moore, Having a bad case of N.U.N D’oh?

57 musicchick2 05.26.07 at 6:57 pm

Useta – “I think the Tuni dance needs to be put to music — nibble nibble, squeeze squeeze, pokey pokey, beep, UHN! nibble nibble, squeeze squeeze, pokey pokey, beep, cha cha cha! and like that” LMAO!! Teho, do you think that could be arranged? Either way, HILARIOUS suggestion Useta! ^5! :-D

58 Theresa 05.26.07 at 7:17 pm

Right now I am going crazy trying to remember where I have seen the H-H.N.B.D. before.

59 anneelizmary 05.26.07 at 7:24 pm

Remember, Theo:

Don’t nibble/squeeze/pokey and drive! Be safe out there! Also, don’t break a heel . . . .

60 Lauri 05.26.07 at 8:09 pm

Awwwwwww!!! Theo is having the BEST weekend!!!

Oh, yeah, useta….I have the earworm already, and the song/dance hasn’t even been written yet! :)

61 Lizzy 05.26.07 at 8:22 pm

Te-ho, are you looking for a roomie? Neighbor? Maid? Slave? Human carpet!??? I must be near teh kitteeeeehhhhnnn!!!!

62 Molly 05.26.07 at 10:20 pm

Who is Theo? Somewhere in my mind, I imagine he and Meg are married and they chat over coffee in the garden all the time.

63 Jaye 05.26.07 at 11:54 pm

Molly, you’ll find him here:
http://teho.vox.com

Meanwhile, I find him downstairs, ’cause he is married, but not to Meg. :)

64 Theo 05.26.07 at 11:59 pm

Hehe. And right now, downstairs, mama Kenya is bathing kittens. Rikki is upside down with paws aloft. (So OK, the kittens are MOSTLY weaned.)

65 Sabella 05.27.07 at 12:47 am

Awww Teho! I love how you’re cradling her! That’s so sweet! What a cute bebeh kitteh!

And what is that I see? Are her dear little arms crossed?! EEEEEE!

66 Molly 05.27.07 at 12:50 am

Oh, he’s married to you, Jaye! Do you have coffee and chat in the garden?

67 Theo 05.27.07 at 3:09 am

We would, but Jaye’s more of a tea person. (and the garden’s still a bit limited, heh)

68 maymee 05.27.07 at 11:55 am

HELP I CAN”T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!!!
*nibblenibblesqueazesqueazepokeypokeyBEEP*
I went to sleep last nite with that in my head and woke up this morning with it in my head.
It’s on an endlessly repeating loop.

69 maymee 05.27.07 at 12:32 pm

Hey you’d spell squeeze wrong too if you hardly got any sleep last night.

*nibblenibblesqueezesqueezepokeypokeyBEEP*

70 Sabella 05.27.07 at 2:52 pm

Song could also be put to polka music. XD

71 Theresa 05.27.07 at 3:09 pm

Someone pleeease tell me where the High Heeled Nose-Beeping Safari Dude comes from. I know I’ve seen him before, and it’s driving me bats that I can’t remember where.

72 Dewi 05.27.07 at 5:31 pm

Sneaks into catcave, and ‘borrows’ rest of kittens to provide them wwith fair share of snorggles pokes and beeps

73 Suda Nim 05.27.07 at 5:45 pm

I nibble-nibble-squeeze-squeeze-pokey-pokey-BEEP’d my mutt, and I’m afraid I enjoyed it a lot more than she did.

74 useta hada kitteh 05.28.07 at 2:37 am

Theresa — ya gotta ask Teho about dat high-heeled beepy guy, he seems to be a friend of the T’s. I can’t remember which post he was on before, either, but he was beeping a cat’s nose again, courtesy of Theo the Great.

75 Sarah 05.28.07 at 4:17 am

Hey, My cat looks identical to this cat. Right down to the different coloured paws and the stripes of copper on its legs. Do you know what type of cat this is? I have had her for 4 years and she still the size of a 6 month old kitten.
Cheers!

76 Theo 05.28.07 at 2:40 pm

Theresa et al. — the cartoon guy/gal is from April 20.
http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2007/04/its_friday_but_.html

77 Theo 05.28.07 at 2:43 pm

Sarah — Tunisia kitten is your typical tortie (for “tortoiseshell”, or dark calico).

78 miu 05.28.07 at 3:50 pm

NIBBLE-nibble-SQUEEZE-squeeze-pokey-POKEY

BEEP!

Now, where is my kitten?

79 Theresa 05.29.07 at 1:34 pm

D’oh!

OK, now I can get back to my conga line. We’re snaking our way around the building singing
“Nibble nibble squeeze squeeze pokey pokey BEEP!
Nibble nibble squeeze squeeze pokey pokey BEEP!”

80 jen 05.29.07 at 2:36 pm

those are always my plans for the wknds too!

81 a different Laura 05.29.07 at 4:33 pm

I think there ought to me some dance moves to “nibble, nibble, squeeze, squeeze, pokey, pokey, beep” (Can we just abbreviate it NNSSPPB?)
We’ll start with the kindergardeners and soon it’ll be all the rage at weddings, kind of like the macarena and the hustle…

82 lurkertype 05.30.07 at 7:25 pm

TUNI!!!!!

I lofs her, as you know. She looks so much like HRT as a bebeh that I’m really enjoying the pictures.

83 Sammi 06.01.07 at 8:40 pm

How do U submit pics???
