Fred, where the heck are you, New Zealand? Time zones I get but International Date Line makes head all hurty. Every time I think I get it, it slips away, out of my mental grasp, like a wet kitty escaping from the bath.
Anyway, Labs are pretty much the opposite of that song. If there’s another dog, human, cat, or any other minimally sentient creature about, a Lab is not alone, because Labs are everyone’s friend. We had a black Lab. We should have had a sign: “Beware of Dog. Not responsible for injury due to excessive licking.”
What a cutie. I miss having a dog.

A picture of a happy puppy is cute. But a picture of the same happy puppy as a happy adult and still with the same loving family is cuter.

Lab-a-licious! The pose is almost identical– look at the position of the front paws! Labs rock, although one once almost broke every bone in my body jumping on me. I got out of a car, and the crazy bugger blindsided me.

Yup, the 17th is my birthday. And, strangely enough, I believe that my hair was the color of the pup’s when I was a wee mini-Moore. My hair wasn’t so thick, though
Note, the one paw is slightly extended in both photos, ready for a chocolate shake!
Oh my goodness! Just adorable.
And brings back very fond memories of my family’s first dog, a chocolate lab named Dave who was the silliest, most affectionate, gentle, and sweet dog we could have asked for. Everyone was this dog’s friend, even the tiny pomerarian who lived next door to us. They made quite a pair playing in the backyard together!
He’s cute both as a pup and as an adult.
Moquif is so right. Pups are cute, but even better is when they are raised into adulthood by the same family. That’s awesome.

I knew someone who had a chocolate Lab, and they truly are among the sweetest, shyest, and gentlest of dogs. Love in a cocoa suit!
