Oh holy Moses…my hand actually flew to my mouth when I saw this. Teeny, tiny tortie. I love tortoises in all their forms and ages, but wow, all shiny and new is something special.

He’s got an extra baggy turtleneck! And it looks like his shell conformed to the shape of the egg. I hope his shell grows out, he’s got the human equivilent of a conehead baby!

I saved a baby turtle at one of our woods and lake parks a while ago (who dropped you in the dirt so far from the pond? which he was VERY happy to return to) – strong little sucker. Really strong. His shell was about the size of a walnut, maybe a little larger, and as I carried him towards the water he could smell the water, wanted the pond, and his little stumpy arms and legs and head started moving to “EHN!” get to the water – amazingly strong for such a weenie size.

I love the prehistoric facial expressions on Teeny Turkleson (yes, I know he’s a tortoise, not a turtle, but “turkle” is funnier) as he gets used to being in the world. And he’s so *tiny* – I think I’ve seen bugs bigger than that!
