My county animal shelter had a huge 30-hour non-stop adopt-a-thon this past weekend, and it was awesome!
45 dogs and 47 cats got adopted!

Doxycontin is a good one. I signed on with an aching back and assorted bruises from a slide down my stairs Saturday and I can testify that the very sight of these little darlings and the memory of the pups I’ve been gifted with in the past are definite, high powered pain killers. Addictive, too!

I’ve had a longhaired dachshund puppy long, long ago and she was too sweet. The squeaking really takes me back, she was just like the puppy at the end of the video (attack camera, hop back, check if attack worked, attack again, run, check…)

Dave (and Harry)-I SO agree about the ketchup thing. Mustard and relish are THE BEST toppings. I just have to convince my 12yo of this now. Also on the DVD of “The Rookie” with Dennis Quaid (YUM!) there is a coach giving baseball tips and his last tip is the proper way to eat a hot dog and, you guessed it, it’s with mustard and relish!

So I should be glad that the sound on my computer is nonfunctional for some unknown and apparently unfixable reason and all the videos are silent? I’ve been thinking I was missing out on little mews and barks but maybe it’s better that way.
Teughcats: Trouble is, the video contained BOTH puppy mews and barks, AND “Puppy Love” by The Osmonds, which is sort of a human version of mewing.
I think a lot of us here would have enjoyed it more with just the puppy sounds.

I’m with lovelylisa- Doesn’t anyone else just want to put Mama’s ears on their face and rub it around? So curly and soft looking? The puppehs is dang cute, but the Mama looked…Knowing.
This is sooooooooo nostalgic for me, I have a Long haired mini Daschund who will be 15 years old Sept 1, and she was just like that only tinier. When I got her at 9 weeks, she weighed 4 grams less than a pound, and the Vet had to weigh her on the bird scale, she was so tiny. Even though she is almost as large as the mother now, she and the Mamma dog are soooo beautiful. These are the cutest thing I have seen since 1992. I got her on a trip, and hid her in my purse (otherwise empty) to carry her around where ever I went the whole weekend until we got home.
That turned my eyes into honey.

What IS it about puppy breath? We just adopted a puppeh, 2 months old, from ASPCA (future CO submisches upcoming!). My sister, meeting him for the first time, said, “Aw, he’s still got puppy breath!”
So hard to define, so cute a part of being a puppeh. Actually sometimes it reminds me of the scent of far-off skunks. Not unpleasantly, though.
