An actual Kaboodle

by Meg on April 5, 2007

[Looking thru binoculars] Behold, an ACTUAL Kaboodle, People.

I’ve heard of them, but never seen one in the wild.

[whisper voice] Amazing.

Kaboodling

Tracey—nice trianglar ear shapes on this species.

Kit n Caboodle!!!
I love you Meggers.

6 Laurie C 04.05.07 at 5:01 pm

They all have the same WTF? expression on their faces.

Oh, and someone knows how to set up a photo shoot. That blanket looks as rich and soft as the kitties.

7 Claire 04.05.07 at 5:03 pm

With this an’ the puppeh crop circle, we now know conclusively that the Qte will conquor and bring peace to all. Meg for President!

8 DKN 04.05.07 at 5:03 pm

this Kaboodle makes me go *Ka-splode*!!!

9 Martha in Washington 04.05.07 at 5:04 pm

Oh they are beeyouteefull! And it looks like their pretty blue eyes have just opened. I bet they are still learning to walk too. I love that-watching the kitties waddle with tails straight up in the air (kinda like the ducks!) Can we have follow-up pics PLEASE!!!1!!

10 cdd 04.05.07 at 5:08 pm

I vote that from now on a litter of kittens will be called a kaboodle.

Okay, some word nerd adventures (the overwhelming compulsion to determine whether “c” or “k” is preferred for “caboodle” naturally) have led me to this charming place:
http://www.kitncaboodle.com/
enjoy!

13 Alice Shortcake 04.05.07 at 5:09 pm

HEALTH WARNING: you are advised not to look at this photo for more than five seconds at a time. Longer exposure may cause brain damage, drooling and uncontrollable cries of “AAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!”

14 misscrisp 04.05.07 at 5:11 pm

Of course, we agree that K-aboodle is the approved spelling for a bunch of K-ittens :-)

15 shanchan 04.05.07 at 5:12 pm

The second one from the left looks soooo like a little lion cub. They’re all darling!

16 ThreeCatNight 04.05.07 at 5:15 pm

Totally preshus!
And now that I’ve picked myself off the floor, I’ll salvage my dignity, and get back to work…NOT!!

17 Chrissy 04.05.07 at 5:17 pm

What is a kaboodle?

18 zeldapie 04.05.07 at 5:23 pm

I’ll be they have little triangle tails, too. Sweeeeeet!

19 Eastie 04.05.07 at 5:23 pm

I’m so in love. I must also echo menotyou’s statement: Why must you make me want what I cannot have?

20 jaypo 04.05.07 at 5:25 pm

This may be one of the softest kaboodles seen live on a blue blanket of faboolousness.

21 Melody J 04.05.07 at 5:30 pm

See, I knew that phrase was supposed to be Kitten Kaboodle, not Kit & Kaboodle!

22 Mary 04.05.07 at 5:39 pm

This is officially the most wonderful picture of kittens ever. I love Siameezles and these bebbehs are the ultimate.

23 Tarah 04.05.07 at 5:43 pm

I’m sure I’m not the first to think
.
.
.
I want the “whole kitten-kaboodle!”

yea…i’m a nerd

24 beenclawed 04.05.07 at 5:44 pm

I usually manage to squee silently. Not this time! I literally had to cover my mouth with my hand to stop the sound. I grew up with a male Seal Point Siamese by the name of Maxwell. Such a wonderful breed. His blues eyes killed me softly every day. I miss him to this day .

25 Jenn 04.05.07 at 5:49 pm

I just literally whispered, “Ohmygods” here at work. That is absolutely too precious. I want them all!

26 Redzilla 04.05.07 at 5:58 pm

I have only one thing to say: meermeermeermeermeermeermeermeermeer

27 Annie 04.05.07 at 6:00 pm

So much kitteh disapproval!! Want to snorgle them until they smile. PS – baby rhino on my site (which I havn’t pimped in a while) http://www.animalphiles.com

28 Brie 04.05.07 at 6:01 pm

Those little ones look like my kitty when she was a baby. :)

29 Denita TwoDragons 04.05.07 at 6:03 pm

Ohboy! Noses to beep! Here we go…

*BEEP!*

*BEEP!*

*BEEP!*

*reaches behind other kitten* *BEEP!*

*moves cover out of way of kitten’s nose* *BEEP!*

^__^

I just havta share that my own true love, my firstborn, softest calico girl turned 15 yesterday. I love her to pieces but she is preventing me from bringing a new kitt’n into my life….no kittens in 15 years! Waahhhh! I just may have to make her put up with a new Siamese baby…

31 R. Moore 04.05.07 at 6:19 pm

If those were my kittens, I’d stick my head into the midst of them and just let their wittle paws smoosh me. They would not scratch me, for they know I mean only to SNORGLE them!

32 mm 04.05.07 at 6:24 pm

I agree wholeheartedly that this much cuteness should be ILLEGAL!! I’m officially ded from the Qte.

33 Sissy 04.05.07 at 6:26 pm

They all MATCH!!

34 Suzanne 04.05.07 at 6:26 pm

From left to right:

Kitteh 1: What’s that over there?

Kitteh 2: Are you talkin’ to me? Are YOU talkin’ to ME?

Kitteh 3: What? What was that?

Kitteh 4: Something’s moving under the blanket! DIBS! *swoosh*

Kitteh 5: Dude you’ve got something stuck to your butt! *snicker*

35 ali 04.05.07 at 6:34 pm

eeeeeeek!

behbeh meezers!

*poit*

i esploded.

36 layla42 04.05.07 at 6:35 pm

A Kaboodle in the wild? Now I have this urge to pick them all up Steve Irwin-style.

“Isn’t she a little beauty?”
*mwah*
“Gorgeous!”
*smooch*
“What a beauty!”
*snarf*
“Aren’t you gorgeous!”
*snorgle*

37 Ponygirl 04.05.07 at 6:40 pm

That little runty in the middle is so cute! I want to nurse him with a bottle until he is sleepy.

Did anyone see the Bunny Pope on South Park Last Night? Talk about CUTE!!!

38 tricia 04.05.07 at 6:41 pm

cute!

groups of kittens are also called a “kindle” or “kendle: of kittens…

a group of cats, a “clowder” or “clutter”.

39 ceejoe 04.05.07 at 6:49 pm

40 stuzie 04.05.07 at 6:54 pm

*Dies*

Haven’t seen such nice soft focus photography since “Janice Dickenson’s Modeling Agency.” But this is way prosh!

She was not so much.

41 musicchick2 04.05.07 at 6:55 pm

Oh great! When I saw this picture of the ADORABLE matching set ‘o kittehs I mentally went “EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!” Now you’ve got me doing it in my head! What has this site reduced me to??!! Curse you Meggy-Moo! ;-) j/k

42 lurkertype 04.05.07 at 7:16 pm

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee!

::splode::

::ded::

Oaklandcat, do NOT, pls, NOT inflict a kitten on your ancient calico. She deserves to have her elder years in peace. Plus, she will keeeeel you and hate you. She may be floofy, but she’s got that tortie-tude in her blood. I speak from experience.

Back to squee-ing at the kaboodle! The one in the middle looks like a handful of trouble.

43 oaklandcat 04.05.07 at 8:27 pm

lurkertype, don’t worry, I’m not seriously thinking about it…I am her abject slave and would go to the ends of the earth to please Ms. Elderly Floofiness. (But I love fantasizing about the baby floofers!)

44 Mina 04.05.07 at 8:27 pm

Isnt it “the whole kit and kaboodle”, not ‘kitten kaboodle”? Nevermind,..Im just a geek.

But cute picture! :)

45 Orora 04.05.07 at 8:36 pm

KITTENS! Luff da kittens!

Best way to get kitten snorgles: Volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter and when the kittens come in, give them kisses on their furry little bellies until they purr their incredibly loud kitten purrs. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood when a kitten is shouting purrs in your ear.

46 sadiesauce 04.05.07 at 8:38 pm

they look sad and frowning in a way that makes me want to pet them and make them all purry and smiley… especially that little guy making camera eye contact. He’s like, “Please, sir, can I have some snorgle?”

47 Marie 04.05.07 at 8:52 pm

Here’s a website on the derivation of “kit and caboodle”

http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-who2.htm

48 HRH 04.05.07 at 9:57 pm

Tricia, that site is fascinating;

* kitling *

a kaboodle of kitlings … awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

49 A thinker 04.05.07 at 10:46 pm

I like them. I want them. I need them.

50 lm 04.06.07 at 12:32 am

Are those Borman babies?

51 lm 04.06.07 at 12:32 am

Are those Birman babies?

52 Anne 04.06.07 at 1:51 am

Has anyone pointed out that kiddins’ earz grow out of the sides of their heads when they are so small? When mine were babies we realized they came equipped with the Touch-and-Purr feature. Three years later, all growed up, but the T&P feature is still easily activated: Touch=purr.

53 Genn 04.06.07 at 2:02 am

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh meeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrr meryehhhhhh meryeeeeeeeeghhh moooooooooorrrrgyeh! mrow

54 ceebs 04.06.07 at 2:09 am

oh squeeeeee!!!
It’s like a whole slew of BABY LOTIES!!!!! (at least that’s what I imagine the batcat as a baby to look like) Help me out here Little Miao…

55 Aubrey 04.06.07 at 2:49 am

“We must make our stand by the comforter of Thermopillow. The Persian kittehs are attacking. Tonight we dine in CAT TOWN!”

56 lauowolf 04.06.07 at 4:15 am

Am I the only one thinking that a big blob of whipped cream would go well in the middle of things?

57 fawn lust 04.06.07 at 6:00 am

i want them for eaties!

58 acelightning 04.06.07 at 9:41 am

I just want to lie down on that floofy blanket with them, and let the whole bunch use me as a human jungle gym, listening to their purrs and meeps in kitten-lovin’ bliss!

59 Subhangi 04.06.07 at 2:24 pm

Awwwwwww, soooo many kitties!

60 little miao 04.06.07 at 6:13 pm

Awww, they *are* like baby loties, ceebs!! they even have a blue blankie!

what little bitty ears they have!

*poit*

61 marsheeee 04.06.07 at 6:18 pm

no, Mina, see…it’s a play on words. You’re right, the phrase is “kit and kaboodle”, but Meg so wittily punned this picture into “kitten kaboodle”, which is a punny way of saying “bunch of kittens”. *sigh* I guess if you have to explain it….

But, as you say, whatever this picture represents, those babies sure are cute!

62 houseofmayhem 04.06.07 at 8:42 pm

Steve Irwin-style (cont.)

“Crikey! This is a prime snorgling opportunity! I’ve got to careful of those sharp kitteh teeth!”

63 creepyhazel 04.07.07 at 1:48 pm

AWWWWW! I LOVE kittens! These ones are especially cute and there are FIVE of them! AWWWW! *hearts appear over eyes* *s’plodes*

64 Meckenzie 04.07.07 at 8:46 pm

65 ask-god-a-question.com 04.08.07 at 3:45 am
