That Bebeh Sandhill Crane looks like a model.
Cute fluffy birdee! *squeeee*!
These bebeh pix here are specTOCKular.
Weird, yet cute!
teehee… too qte!
I can just picture cuteologists running around, all around the world, with cameras, looking for qte tocks to capture in pics…
…wow. I never thought one of those could be cute. Who knew!?
I am officially dead from the knobbitude.
Is this in Port St. Lucie, FL? These guys run around my neighborhood too! Soooo cute!
It’s a rare FuzzyTock Crane, of the genus StorkieCraneaFragilistic ExPeepHeadAslplodious! They like to hang out with other cranes and pretend to be their babies, you see… ;-)
D2D — that sounded quite atrocious.
Wow Fluffular, Knobular and check out the BEF in the first Picture, Not to mention the little copy of a larger one ….
Yes folks; I do believe we have a rare CO Quadruple Rule Posting…
yay cranes! i lurv cranes, egrets, herons etc xxxooo
OMGgles, That is adorableness.
We have these birds in Orlando too. I got my 3 yr old to call them “Freaky Birds”. They’re kinda freaky to someone who just moved from Boston :)
Baby sandhill ‘tocks are *much* cuter than baby whooper ‘tocks (http://www.operationmigration.org/Field_Journal.html ) but much less endangered.
I just bid on an OM video on eBay…
The baby looks like a duck on stilts. It’s a little scary. But cute.
Oooo, extremely cute!
We have these all the time in my yard, but, only after they have grown up enough to fly! I have never seen one as bebelishous as this one!
D2D, your crane-ium must have been working overtime!
By the way, I love these long-legged beasties.
‘tocks get me every time;
I LUV fluffy fuzzy ‘tocks!!!
is there a Freudian signification here ???
My gosh, the first picture looks like a painting by Audobon!
D2D, you rock (as usual)! Thanks for the grin. ;-)
I dunno if I’ve ever seen these guys or not. There were often unusual birds hanging around on MCAS Camp Pendleton (in Oceanside, CA). On Oahu too. Does anybody know if this species inhabits tropical climes?
We need more wild birdies on this Site… ^_^
Oh my gosh, I just found that you posted my pics!
Hooray! I’ll have to revel in my brief moment in the sun.
The birds were outside where I work in Melbourne, Florida.
I just loved how the parents were teaching the little guy to find and eat stuff in the grass.
You made my day Cute Overload!
Ok not to rain on anybodies parade but I do not like birdies. I have this fear that they’re going to fly into my face and break my nose, and I’m freaking out because of exams. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH need more QTE!
“I’m too sexy for my beak
too sexy for my beak”
*dips neck, sways, turns and struts*
Theo: “D2D — that sounded quite atrocious.”
C’mon, the caffeine hadn’t hit yet. Just wanted to let ya knowsious… *ducks and runs*
Aubrey: “D2D, your crane-ium must have been working overtime!”
Is that flattery I’m heron, Aubrey…? *grin*
Musicchick2: “D2D, you rock (as usual)! Thanks for the grin. ;-)”
*BLUSH* Gawrsh…um…thanks! Glad ya liked it! :-)
“Is that flattery I’m heron, Aubrey…? *grin*”
Naw, D2D – I was just winging it, needed to think of SOMETHING: so I had to restork to desperate measures.
D2D – Say it loud enough and you’ll always sound precocious.
…The biggest bird I ever heard….
Aub sez: “…I was just winging it, needed to think of SOMETHING: so I had to restork to desperate measures.”
Just don’t let your improv beakome too desperate, you might wind up feeling bittern, hon! ;-)
Pyrit…it’s official. I have an earworm stuck in my head. (And I can’t even pin the blame on anyone else, either!)
i live in cape canaveral and we see them very often.
Well, so far, D2D, it’s been dovetailing nicely, so no worries…wait…you’re not gulling me, are you?
Check out the super model walk in pic # 2. TYRA, EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
Oh Aubrey my love(bird), I’d never pull the owl over your eyes! Just the idea alone would leave me pacing the floor all night(hawk)! My heavens, it even makes me want to upchuck-will’s-widow…
(I had to work my favorite bird in there somehow…*grin!*)
Work it, girl!
D2D, your tern of phrase curlews the hairs on my head. I quail at saying anything else, but is it to spare-row me or you?
Yowch-kilt ded by puns. Death by puns is not how I wudda chose to die. By cute, or chocolate mebbe. But puns? I ken just see me standin around in heaven when everyone is comparing notes- so how’d you die? Oh, I choked on a werthers original, old age, my ex-wife, etc. But me? I’m gonna have to say Puns.
Oh, and Mr. Masters, we just love Melbourne Florida. We have been spending a lot of time there this past year visiting the best Dr. for autism in the country, Dr. Bradstreet. If ever you visit Melbourne, go to the library, because they have a pond that is full of tiny cranular birds, ibises, ducks and chickens! My children kept asking if we could go back to the library over the beach!
Wow. Look at that. I really like these photographs a lot.
John Masters – awesome shots!
Aubrey, don’t be robin the peeps of their peace of mind. You have a lot of gull…
Aubrey – Captain. It’s CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow.
I LOVE when I see cute animals on CO that I never before had noticed were cute. This post has opened my eyes to fluffy crane ‘tocks!
Like Susie, birds generally freak me out, but for some reason, I am absolutely in love with this little guy.
Kittens are ALWAYS cute, but it takes a real PhD in CUTE to find adorableness in unusual animals!
Sing to the tune of “Baby Face”:
You’ve got the cutest fuzzy birdy butt!
OMG those are some LEGS.
Am I heron this all correctly?
You are all so talented. I wish I could emu-late your punning. But I always seem to get stork for ideas.
If I could I would crane my neck over your shoulder as you type.
Alas, I must simply wallow in a black ibis of despair.
I guess it’s just too bitter a pill to swallow.
This conversation is for the… the uh… um.
Oh my Goldfinch! EricaE is swift! (watches her brain go up in flamingoes.)
Someday it will be my tern.
Maybe if I dove into work I could im-partrige some witty punnage to you all.
Is there some cardinal rule I am forgetting?
You are all such pergrines of punnery.
I egret that I haven’t more skill. So, rather than grouse, owl try harder.
Why did EricaE cross the road?
To get to the other eider.
Time and ptarmigan, these puns are vireo hard to swallow and condor make me loon-y.
