When SOMEONE sends in a LARGE photo, THIS anerable, it’s bound to become 75 different sizes of desktop wallpaper for the entire world to enjoy. I only hope we don’t cause any incidents of people trying to soft-kronsche the screen ears.

And that SOMEONE we have to thank is… Jennifer D. 😉

  1. floppycat says:

Is that a baby blue heeler??? How CUTE!

  2. What in heaven’s name IS that sweet, shy little thing? Is it some sort of little doggie?

  3. oh the Princess Di Eyes get me everytime *Slpodes*

  4. Oh my gawd! What an angel face! I would totally nibble on those lil ears.

You know, i’d have to flip that baby over and kiss that plump puppy belly too.

What kind of puppy is that? Darling hound?

  5. floppycat says:

Wait…I’m bleen??? How did that happen?

or is that a red heeler, or something else? Maybe Jennifer will let us know. Anyway, too late on the kronsche. That was the first thing I did. Poor ‘puter screen.

  6. No way single pup can be that cute… Almost forgot to breathe. Awwwwwww….

  7. Michelle says:

That is the kittenest looking puppy I have ever seen. It is a puppy, right?

  8. Peg of Tilling says:

    I thought it was a kitten, too…it’s a pup? it’s a cat? it’s pat?

  9. it’s neither kitteh nor pupster

    it’s a cutus overloadus

  10. floppycat says:

I keep looking at the “pat” because it is soo cute. I love the “eyes looking up, nose covered by paws” cuteness.

The nose looks kitty-ish but the ears look a little like floppy, puppy ears. Plus the claws are exposed. When do those retract on kittehs?

    Whatever, tis cute regardless.

  11. floppycat says:

Meg has the babbers under ‘pups’ so there you have it.

  12. So very precious! The Princess Di eyes definitely kill me.

  13. OMG!!! The bebeh brought tears to my eyes! =)

  14. The Honourable Gladys Anstruther says:

Strewth Bruce it looks like a Dingo pup.

  15. Yitzysmommie says:

Uh oh, too late. There are nose prints on the puter screen from me trying to kronsche this suprememly bee-U-tee-mous puppers’ earsies. Too Qte!

  16. I can’t believe the sickeningly sweet “cute” things some of the people say on here. I mean, come ON! I’m getting DIABETES here! CONTROL yourselves already! Just because this little honeysnugglebunnypoopoowiddleteenerpupehsnorglebebeh puppy looks sort of cute…please.

  17. Too late! I smacked my head against the screen trying to soft kronsche the lil’ dewd!

  18. I would bet money if you flipped the little pup over he would have a snorgle-worthy fat puppy belly!!!!!

  19. shut UP! I thought it was a kitten doing princess di eyes…
    a calico kitten…
so seriously – what kind of puppeh *is* it???

  20. mmmmm. i am neebling on hees eears. num num num

  21. Erm… I am embarrassed to even ask, but what is it? i mean, it is very, very cute, but I’m extremely confused by its species.

  22. AH! I think it’s a Australian Blue Heeler!! I have a dog named Bitty who’s a blue heeler and she looked EXACTLY like this when she was a puppy, waaaaaay too adorable! Need to rub this puppy all over my face immediately

  23. It’s a sweet lil angel is what it is.

  24. floppycat says:

oh, so that’s what ‘bleen’ is.

  25. (all caps, cuz i’m yelling)

  26. Catsquatch says:

    Too oo shy to shy
    Hush hush eye to eye….

One of the best kitty pics ever!

  27. Totally an Australian Cattle Dog pup.

    Tooo cute!

  28. That my friends.. is indeed a Blue Heeler who has mastered the Princess Di eyes… Great dogs, but they will herd everything.. including your children and the neighbors children and your friends and your friends friends..

  29. Catsquatch says:

    Thats a DOG????

    It looks like a kitten!!!

    Someone call the cute police!!!!!

  30. ACK. I love that one floppy ear.

  31. It’s a kitty dog! It’s a puppy cat! It’s transpeciesexual cuteness. I love the super adorable orange legwarmer thing he’s got going on with the coloring on his forelimbs.

She’s a maniac, maniac whoa-whoa-whoa…and she’s cuting like she’s never uhh cuted before.

Cute can be a verb too, right?

  32. Looks like a kitten, the nose looks too narrow and the jaw too short for a puppy.

But that could just be the breed. And the ears seem a little big and floppy for kittehs.

I assume Meg was told puppy by the sender, so that’s probly what it is.

  33. It’s a kitty dog! It’s a puppy cat! It’s transpeciesexual cuteness. I love the super adorable orange legwarmer thing going on with the coloring on her forelimbs.

She’s a maniac, maniac whoa-whoa-whoa…and she’s cuting like she’s never uhh cuted before.

    Unless he’s a he. In case…very uhh…masculine legwarmer action.

Cute can be a verb too, right?

  34. kestrien says:

Yup, blue heeler pup! Hair not long enough to be the Australian. Reminds me of my Bonnie when she was a pup – they’re so leetle that a washcloth completely covered her!

  35. It’s the best kitten pic, because it isn’t a kitten! 😀

Occasionally, you will see Blue Heeler and Australian Cattle Dog used to describe the same dog. Whatever it is, it looks tasty.

  36. Whoa… weird moment…. I thought on my first looks it was a pussy … but closer inspection did reveal to me puppy like qualities….

whoa… either I need medication or new glasses….

  37. Um… Okay. I’ve never posted before, but the Daily Mail is featuring an article today about baby animals. That’s the entire article. It’s theme is: baby animals. That’s it. And I squeeeed. A lot. So please, join me:

  38. eikoleigh says:

That is the cutest Di-eyed puppy ever.

  39. floppycat says:

    Hush a-by, don’t you cry,
    Go to sleepy little puppy.
When you wake, you shall have,
    All the pretty little posties…

  40. Amazing – an animal so cute that some people can’t even tell what it is! I read a book once where a cat-mama told a hotel owner that her cat was a small breed of dog & they beleived it. I thought that was totally redonk at the time, but now I see…

  41. My receptionist came to check on me because these were the sounds coming out of my office:

    GASP! click*click GASP!!
    click*click Awwwwwwww!

  42. BTW Laura, that was a great article.

  43. OMG, I wanna kiss that TOO TOALLY PRECIOUS little round forehaid!!!

  44. Too much ear and snout to be a kitteh, non?

I simply must share this, which just came my way: an entire alphabet of baby-animal cute. Please note especially the baby hedgers, people. Dangerous stuff!

  45. Tina Rhea says:

Cute pup, but little critters don’t look right when their pictures are blown up real big. What I want– what I’ve been CRAVING– is a desktop-size wallpaper of that photo of the floor mat made of floofy kittens. That one reduces me to a puddle every time.

If anyone knows how I can get one, please email me! Of course I’d never get anything else done….

  46. Tina Rhea says:

Okay, sorry, that link doesn’t work for the floofy kittenmat. Try this one, and I still want to know how I can get a bigger version:

  47. PUPCAKE!

  48. lauowolf says:

I’ve always felt that all cats are she, and all dogs are he.
    And here finally is proof.
Obviously the outcome of a cat and dog who are very fond of one another.

  49. AuntieMame says:

    D’oh! Gahh! Urk, urk, urk.

    Assorted other inarticulate noises…

    It’s a puppen!

(And I have so many windows open that the button in the taskbar that is supposed to say “The Asset” just says “The Ass”! How appropriate…)

  50. That puppy is so kitten!

  51. Is it possible to have a heart attack, shortness of breath, hyperglycemia, and toothache at the same time? Because that’s what’s happening to me.

  52. Hey, where’s the widescreen love? 1280×800?

    Great pic! 🙂

  53. Awww I have an Australian Cattle dog too! They also go by Blue Heeler. The ones with the long hair are Australian Sheppards. And you are right when you say it looks like aDingo pup becuase they have Dingo in them. I may be a little judgmental becuase i have one, but best dogs ever. Eventhough mine is old now and spoiled rotten!

  54. ThreeCatNight says:

I just want to tuck it into the crook of my arm, and kiss and nuzzle that sweet little head. Too much!

  55. Peg of Tilling says:

So…is this kittenish pup an example of interspecies snorgling all by its own self?

  56. Savvyminx — the photo looks too tightly cropped for a good widescreen version; you’d either be cutting off ears or paws. [tsk]

  57. Blue Heeler! We have one that is several years old and a real b*tch in her own right but I love her to death and right now she has 2 adorable 2.5-week old pups, their dad is a Catahoula/McNab.. not that any of you really care, lol, but I just wanted to jump on the I LOVE HEELERS train.. we also have a red heeler male that is the funniest gentlest dog EVAH (which I understand is NOT a common trait.. gentleness).. I love them both to bits!! (and of course our 2 Catahoula/McNabs).. (and the 2 puppies).. (and our 2 house cats)..

  58. there is something i have to share. this picture made me smile and my heart GLOW. why? because my 10 year old australian cattle dog, Y Z, was recently diagnosed with a very aggresive cancer. he is the light of my sky,my sol, as i call him, and he has been with me since i left home. i have been having the worst case of the “blahs”, while he feels better following major surgery last week. thank you so very much for making me look at his not-so-old face and remember when he was new and i was young…

  59. The ears, of course, and the Princess Di look, goes without saying…

But I just want to point out the very demure little paws!! I would have to either tickle or kiss those little paws, which might cause them to be pulled back and/or tucked under, but I don’t care!! 🙂

  60. Suzy's Mom says:

    What a little sweety pup.

  61. Tiffanie says:

My computer and co-workers thank you 🙂

  62. Cute little cat. I have one one year old. He becomes so lazy. Why cats are like this?

  63. to cute iwill use this

  64. Hehehe My new Wall Paper. It is the cutest little Healer Puppeh. Love the one cat ear and one puppy ear. I had to look twice to determine if it was a puppy. Thanks C.O. for making it a happy day.

  65. if it isn’t a puppen, maybe it is a pitten. But it looks like a dingo, too….

  66. The little shy thing does it to me every time too. As if the little pup were sayin’: “Aww gee shucks, I’m not all THAT cute, but thanks. Well, yes I am, but I need to hypnotize you all with my cute-itude.”

  67. The Cute Police! The Cute Police!

  68. Theo are you anywhere to be found? CONFOUND YOU feo! For some silly reason I decided to go find the comment record post!?!?!? AND I COULD NOT PULL MYSELF AWAY!?!?

I God? Ten Ninjas??? I must go sleep for an eternity.

  69. Wow – when you can’t tell if it’s a puppy , or a kitteh, that has to be a new level of cute – A new *rule* that will probably never be duplicated ….

  70. The cuteness… it’s just too much….

  71. We have achieved new levels of Qte never before seen or contemplated.

This needs to be snorgled at all times.

  72. I love that you can’t really tell if it’s a cat or a dog. That just makes it so much better.

  73. couldn’t resist posting this …

    it’s long but beautiful …

    * a box of tissues may be needed*

I am your dog, and I have a little something I would like to whisper in your ear.

I know that you humans lead busy lives. Some have to work. Some have children to raise. It always seems like you are running here and there, often much too fast, often never noticing the truly grand things in life.

Look down at me now, while you sit there at your computer. See, the way my dark brown eyes look at yours. They are slightly cloudy now. That comes with age. The gray hairs are beginning to ring my soft muzzle.

You smile at me; I see love in your eyes. What do you see in mine? Do you see a spirit? A soul inside, who loves you as no other in the world could? A spirit that would forgive all trespasses of prior wrongdoing for just a simple moment of your time?

That is all I ask. To slow down, if even for a few minutes to be with me.

So many times, you have been saddened by the words you read on that screen, of others of my kind, passing. Sometimes we die young and oh so quickly, sometimes so suddenly it wrenches your heart out of your throat. Sometimes, we age so slowly before your eyes that you may not even seem to know until the very end, when we look at you with grizzled muzzles and
cataract clouded eyes. Still the love is always there, even when we must take that long sleep, to run free in a distant land.

I may not be here next week. Someday you will shed the water from your eyes, that humans have when deep grief fills their souls, and you will be angry at yourself that you did not have just “One more day” with me. Because I love you so, your sorrow touches my spirit and grieves me. We have NOW, together.

So come, sit down here next to me on the floor, and look deep into my eyes. What do you see? If you look hard and deep enough we will talk, you and I, heart to heart. Come to me not as “alpha” or as “trainer” or even “Mom or Dad,” come to me as a living soul and stroke my fur and let us look deep into one another’s eyes, and talk.

I may tell you something about the fun of chasing a tennis ball, or I may tell you something profound about myself or even life in general. You decided to have me in your life because you wanted a soul to share such things with.

Someone very different from you, and here I am.

I am a dog, but I am alive. I feel emotion, I feel physical senses, and I can revel in the differences of our spirits and souls. I do not think of you as a “Dog on two feet”- I know what you are. You are human, in all of your quirkiness, and I love you still.

Now, come sit with me on the floor. Enter my world, and let time slow down if only for 15 minutes. Look deep into my eyes, and whisper to my ears. Speak with your heart, with your joy, and I will know your true self.

We may not have tomorrow, and life is oh so very short.

Love, (on behalf of canines everywhere)

  74. Awwwww… Its head’s so big…

A wallpaper in every size but mine… Darn laptop…

  75. awww, HRH thanks for sharing.

  76. HRH, yes, tissues needed. Thank you for sharing that. It was very beautiful.

  77. Ringtailroxy, I wish you and YZ still more glowing years together! Hope YZ feels tip top soon.

  78. Now yer just funnin’ me. How can that be a dog??

  79. Puppy is the new kitten.

  80. hey Susie,
I did the same thing with the baby and Kitten posts. I was laughing so hard I had to shut it off as I am at work. I intend to go back to it later tonight. It was very entertaining.

  81. UPDATE ON MIA!!!! My friend just called me to say that she found Mia this evening after she got home!!!! She’s in great shape and looks like she has been eating somewhere along her travels… Mia’s refusing to tell her Mommy where she’s been since Friday, but Mommy doesn’t care now since Mia’s home…

Mia’s Mommy wanted me to pass along a huge hug and thank you for all the prayers that were sent out from the wonderful group!!! Some of you emailed me asking me for udpates and that really makes love this group more than I already do…

Thanks again for the well wishes and prayers for Mia’s safe return!!! I love you folks!!!!

  82. Susie — I’d forgotten about iGod. Now *that* is some bizarre internets, right there. Looks like it’s still online, too…

  83. Laurie C says:

Yay, for MIA back home! So glad to hear of a happy ending, Stormcat.

  84. Tina Rhea says:

More yea for Mia being found! You’ve made my day.

A British friend told me that he was concerned about seeing “Lost Cat” posters in his area, but then signs went up in the same places saying that the cat had been found and was safe at home. He knew that cat had a good home, because its people were kind enough to know that others worried too

  85. Me:
You said you have an operating system
No I don’t think I have one. I have a really nice botmaster.
    Oh who’s your botmaster?
OK. I was created by Myself.
So you are your own botmaster?
Interesting deduction. You are what you eat.

  86. Susie …

  87. HRH. . . .
    :-D!!!!eleventy seven!!!1111

  88. So good to hear Mia is home safe!

  89. Awww little Chompersons! What a little sweety pie!

  90. KaylieMalinza says:

Savvyminx– 1560×1600 is precisely twice as big as 1280×800. Usually the desktop will resize it for you (try the “stretch” option), or you can use just about any image program to resize it yourself. Widescreen gets twice as much love, *obviously*. 😉

  91. This is an absolutely adorable picture. has anyone checked out the new site http://cutepetopia.com ? they have some seriously cute stuff too!

  92. nermalkitty says:

    pheas –

thank you thank you for sharing that!! i have never even HEARD of a “cotton top tamarin” or a “lesser panda” but geez they are beautiful i am so SO glad i got to see them. i LOVE the cotton top tamarins. they are now one of my favorite critters. kitties are first of course. but now i can add cotton top tamarin to my list. perhaps because they resemble kitties. i still don’t know what they are? monkey? anybody know for sure??

  93. I really can’t see how the little guy looks like a kitten.
Anyway.. cutest thing I’ve ever seen..

  94. Susie–Thank you. I feel a little less pathetic knowing someone else went back and read that whole damn record-comment post the other day. It was hysterical and I laughed til I almost peed. Didn’t quite grasp Theo’s iGod, ten ninjas thing but maybe maybe it’ll click in…

  95. nermalkitty — glad you liked the listing! I knew those pix needed to reach a wider audience of Cuteologists.

Tamarins and marmosets are itty-bitty New World monkeys. Seriously pocket-sized fluffy cuteness, especially when Mom has teeny babies on her back.

  96. AIIIEEEE!!! HEELER PUPPEH!!! I gots my heeler bebeh (well, four years old) a-snooze next to me on the couch They never stop being cute. This one’s a Texas Heeler so she’s half Aussie shepherd. They are freakin’ catlike. She is disdainful and loves to snuggle and loves the tummy rubs. I never knew her when she was a pup so this picture will have to do. My workplace will just have to deal with the squealing and screen-snorgling.

  97. Why do I always need a cigarette after checking out this site? It is so good.

  98. *scratches head*

Didn’t we have a princess di eyes category? I could’ve sworn we did.

  99. Kar — not a whole CATEGORY, no… but there have been a few posts with similar poses.

  100. OMG!

This is by far the fastest I’ve gone from seeing a picture to making it my wallpaper. Ever.

    Cutest.Puppy.Evar. Hands down.

  101. Cutest. Puppy photo. Ever. End of story. 😀

  102. What a “dordable” heeler pup 😀 But I’ve owned two and they can sure be a challenge before (and after) they mature!

  103. Jennifer D says:

This is our baby Elly…at 6 weeks old. I needed a pick me up and my wonderful husband brought her home to me and she did just that, and continues to do just that… SHE is a pure blue heeler pup…one of her eyes has white eyelashes the other black and she is as adorable and snuggly as she looks but definitely NOT shy! Thanks everyone! my husband took this and some other great pics, he’s a photographer..check out http://www.dndpix.com

  104. I have a buny rabbit that looks just like him!!
