  5. oaklandcat says:

*did I do it? did I? did I bleen?*

  6. Meg says:

I still don’t know what ‘bleen’ means!

    Baroooooo!

  7. oaklandcat says:

wow. I kinda feel like *God* was talking to me. Or at least, posting near me. *foreheadfloor*

  8. musicchick2 says:

Congrats Meg! C.O. is heading into the stratosphere of blog-dom with it’s cute (and wierd) submiches!! Thank you for the CUTE and for sharing it with all of us every day!

  9. Suzy/s Mom says:

Congrats Meg! CO certainly deserves the Webby. I don’t know how I ever got through the day without it.

  10. Snorgle Pup says:

Yaahh! You got my vote. Meg, you’re the best. Big bleens to you!

  11. DKN says:

Yay for Meg and Teh QTE!!! I can’t wait to get my vote on.

  12. katherine says:

Hooray! Congratulations! And here’s an incredibly cute news story: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/162390

  13. lazyj says:

?? when i go to vote & also when i searched for CO on the site, you only come up under the weird category…is that an error?? the cultural/personal ballot also comes up, but no CO??

  14. floppycat says:

Um, personnally, I like the “weird” submishes…like the butter dollop that looked like a duck…and the turkey pine cone that was in love with the onion…

oooh, and the Four Peeps of the Apocalypse! That one was CLASSIC!

But it’s the QTE that keeps me coming back.

  15. Tony James says:

To sleep, perchance to bleen – ay, there’s the snorgle.

If teh Webbeez is bein helded in NYC again then we TEWTELLY have to have a COnvention, if only to embarrass teh fuzz out of Meg by yelling “SKWEEEE!” when she goes up to collect her richly-deserved award for Teh Proshest Site On Teh Internetz.

  16. AuntieMame says:

Make like a stoat, and vote!

  17. jen says:

    congrats, CO! :)

  18. M. says:

    Congratulationsss!

  19. lindr says:

Weird? I prefer to think of it as expressing my individuality – marching to the beat of a different drum – it’s only what the voices tell me to do…

And the bebeh horse – adorabuls!

  20. I am imagining the acceptance speech:
I would like to thank all the ponies, and fat kittehs, and onyons, and pockets and peeps who make CuteOverload what it is today. At CO our goal is world peas through superior hamsterage, and because all of you peeps spend all of your productivity at CO instead of working, we may one day realize that vision. Because of your support we will continue to speak Cute to Power! (crowd goes wild, some people openly weep, whilst other people asplode gently.)

  21. Theo says:

    CBF —
Great speech! Now condense that down to the requisite five words and we’ve got a winner.

Also, I think “asploding gently” is what we Minnesotans call melting. Which is not what’s happening up here today.

  22. Yitzysmommie says:

Excellent idea, Tony J – I’d love to SQUEE at our Meggers in public.
I am personally responsible for the spread of CO conciousness at my clinic, where we deal with sadness all day long. Must have teh Qte to keep our spirits up.

  23. Stitchy says:

Congrats, Cute Overlords! I’m nominated in that category, too, and I have to tell you that I almost voted for you myself. But then cooler heads prevailed. Still, I’m sure I’ll be crushed, but what better way than with a big, fuzzy foot? :)

  24. Sneezy says:

    Ooh, I’ll definitely vote!

And hey…I was thinking that a stoat was a female pig for some reason…am I dumb? Does anyone remember in Harry Potter when Hagrid tries to force ‘stoat sandwiches’ on everyone?

    *scratches head* 8^|

  25. floppycat says:

    Stitchy,

Um, WOW. Seriously. Where do you find this stuff?

  26. floppycat says:

Stitchy, I was referring to your blog, of course. Meg, you may have a good competish for weirdness.

  27. eikoleigh says:

yay – congrats on the nominations!

  28. Stitchy says:

floppycat, I usually get patterns booklets from one of two places. My beloved eBay and other people’s mother-in-laws’ attics. At one point, so many packages were coming from eBay, I had to start accusing one of the cats (the naughty one) of stealing my credit card to order stuff in order to deflect my husband’s hopeless pleas to quit with the giant stacks of old magazines.

  29. floppycat says:

Stitchy, Hilarious! Good luck to you both…

  30. Bronwyn says:

    Woot! Woot! Go CO!

  31. Subhangi says:

    w00t!!! Two’s a great number!

  32. Arvay says:

    Yay! Congrats!

  33. Mlle X says:

Congrats! Perhaps you can get your vote on like a baby goat, as well.

  34. Sue says:

    What does bleen mean???

  35. Theo says:

Wait, I didn’t catch that till now… I’m used to new folks asking “What does ‘bleen’ mean?” on a fairly regular basis (hi Sue!)… but that really was Meggie Moo herself up there, asking the same question, wasn’t it? [eyes cross] [head spins]

    Baroo indeed.

  36. ebee says:

Take THAT, all you Nuffinghams. TWICE AS MANY AS LAST YEAR!!! Step back!
    WOOT!
    Booyah!
    Neet!

  37. ebee says:

    You keep using that word.
I don’t think it means what you think it means.

  38. lurkertype says:

    w00t! Teh Qte (TM) rules!

  39. Sue says:

I really do want to know what bleen means so could someone please tell me what it does mean? Thank you.

  40. katherine says:

Sue, it’s a mix of blue and green. kinda like a spork.

    (it’s a euphemism for the “f—-” word)

  41. lurkertype says:

    Dewds, I am confused.

I just voted like a mofo in about a bazillion categories, but I didn’t see CO under Culture/Personal.

    What gives, Webbys??

I voted for CO under “Weird” (and for VOX in whatever it was), but I want to vote for CO TWICE!!!

Is there another round of votingks or something?

  42. lurkertype says:

    Ooooh, wait…

Has CO ALREADY won, been selected under Cultural/Personal?

Meggie Moo already gots that b/c they recognized teh awesomeness of Teh Qte?

Well, anyway, THE VOTING IS OPEN!!!

VOTE FOR TEH QTE in the “Weird” category! Weird is good!

  43. lurkertype says:

Stitchy, your site both appalls and attracts me. I hope that’s what you were going for.

  44. Theo says:

    Katherine — only sometimes.

Peeps — I’ll say this ONCE: In the context of Cute Overload, “Bleen” has NO real meaning of its own. If you are/were a fan of the old TV show M*A*S*H, it’s like the “B. J.” in B. J. Hunnicutt. What’s it stand for? …anything you like!

    [/bleen]

  45. D says:

Congrats! Browsing the list of nominated sites is educational too — I learned that there’s a fan site devoted to Anderson Cooper..rrowwwrrrr!! Another way to waste time at work. Yay : )

  46. oaklandcat says:

OMG.OMG.OMG. Did Theo just define bleen?

  47. lauowolf says:

    must toddle off and vote.
so gratifying to vote for something really cool and have it *win*

  48. Sue says:

Thank you very much Kathrine. I was going nuts trying to figure it out.

  49. yankeebird says:

Why does it seem I’m the only one who sees CO in Cultural/Personal but not under Weird?

  50. yankeebird says:

    *cries*

I’m so confused! Like I just said, when I follow Meg’s link I see CO in Cultural/Personal but not under Weird. However, when I follow Stitchy’s link to that blog, and click the link there, that takes me to Weird and CO is listed!

  51. Sue says:

Oh I just saw what you answered too Theo. Thank you also. I really wanted to know, as I said it was driving me nuts. Thank you, Thank you Thank you. Bleen, bleen, bleen. Sue J.

  52. AmyH says:

Stitchy – I also discovered your site and thought it was the tops. However, I found it first because you are being promoted by another favorite site that didn’t make it for some bizarro reason – the Museum of Bad Art.

Oh and Teho – I’ll be in your neck of the woods this weekend for a wedding (not mine). It’s 87 degrees here. How the heck am I supposed to pack for snow?!?!?!

  53. AmyH says:

When I say “thought it was the tops”, I do not mean any disrespect for my CO, as CO is and ever shall be my Number One site for teh QTE and mah peeps.

  54. Stitchy says:

lurkertype – yep! Delighted horror is the intent of the MOKS. Assault the eyes and tickle the funny bone.

Yankeebird, I think the link in the above post is to a non-votable award. CO is an Honoree in the Blog category, so it’s like an honorable mention/”wish we could have chosen more than five” sort of thing. But you can vote for CO in the Weird category at the People’s Voice site. http://pv.webbyawards.com (you have to register.)

AmyH – Thanks! I love MOBA. They’re having an auction on the 23rd, I can’t wait! I don’t think they entered the Webbies, and you can’t get nominated without entering. I emailed Louise at MOBA to let her know, because that site totally kicks butt.

  55. skippy says:

Yankeebird, I hear ya. I only see CO listed under “Cultural and Personal”. And where does one vote?

Anyway… Congrats Meg! And thanks for all the warm fuzzies, squees, bleens, and all the rest of it. Go CO!

  56. skippy says:

Ah, thanks Stitchy. Now I see it. Time to make like a baby stoat…

  57. musicchick2 says:

Meggers, I went to the Webby awards site and saw C.O. under the “wierd” category but NOT under the personal/blog category. Any info? http://pv.webbyawards.com/

  58. musicchick2 says:

Meg, what I mean is, C.O. is mentioned as an “honoree” in the cultural & personal blog category, but it’s not on the ballot there. I only find it on the ballot under “wierd”.

  59. katherine says:

musicchick, I was about to ask the same question!

  60. lurkertype says:

ah! I was right! (see Meggie Moo’s edit)

  61. CCat says:

C0, weird? I don’t think this is a weird site… well at least, not most of the time…

Hoorah for lovesick pine cones! How do you vote?
