Awright, who stuffed the kitten in a sock?

Fess up, People. Who did it?

Rock'em, Sock'em

At least he’s easy to carry around that way Megan D. Just don’t toss in the hamper.

  2. misscrisp says:

It’s a tubular blue wormy kitteh!
    Bleen!

  3. Thing 1?
    or Thing 2?

  4. Why haven’t I thought of this?

  5. He looks warm and cumfurtubles!

  6. Mikey likes it!

  7. Dracwolley says:

    ^_________________________________^~!

    Omt.

He’s al liak, “Comfy.” He’s gonna fall asleeps in the plooshy sock.

  8. caroline says:

    Snuggly tuxie pinky nose!

  9. gloom raider says:

Because you can’t have “caterpillar” without “cat”?

  10. Juniper Jupiter says:

I’ll bet it wuz a bandund kitteh cuz it’s so teeny and that’s one way of keepin’ it warmeded when not feedin it…I could be wrong…it loox so cumfy

  11. eeek a kittypillar…..

  12. Kittahs love closed in, warm places

  13. GabrielandAriel's_mom says:

I knit and am usually threatening my cats with clothes if they don’t leave my yarn alone, but this is something I think they’d love.

  14. Awww, he’s like a little Kitteh Mummeh.

  15. Hee!

  16. Oooh da poor tweet kitty-witty…

Actually I’m betting kitty loves this. Cats have no trouble getting into tightly enclosed spaces on their own. Perhaps this is somebody’s Christmas stocking present.

  17. Catman Dude =^-.-^= says:

    Kitty’s name must be…..SOCKS!!!

  18. Catman Dude =^-.-^= says:

New Product !!! MOGGY SOCKS !!

  19. Awwwwwwwww.

  20. Oh, now I wants to get one kitteh for each sock in my drawer!

*runs to buy a caseload of socks to accommodate kittehs*

  21. *BOOM* That’s the sound of my spleen exploding from laughing so hard.

  22. Peg of Tilling says:

Self: (shows picture to cat) LOOK! I could put you in a SOCK!

Cat: Suuuuuure you could. (walks away, smoothing whiskers)

  23. Seileigh says:

I have those socks! And I have a kitteh that looks like that! She likes to cuddle the socks, but I don’t think she’d be as blissful as this kitteh while inside the socks.

  24. I don’t think the question is so much WHO put the kitteh in the sock, but HOW they put the kitteh in the sock? Hmmmmmmmmmmm…….

  25. My question exactly.

  26. Suda Nim says:

    Sockitty to me!

  27. Um, that looks amazingly comfortable. I wouldn’t mind if someone wrapped me up in a giant, (clean!), sock and let me lay around and nap for the day.

I live in nyc and moms push their babies around in strollers wearing little slumber sacks that look almost identical to the kitty sock- the link has a picture of the baby sleeping sock.

    http://conceptsecontents.blogosfere.it/2005/12/baby-sleeping-b.html

  28. My cat likes to drag my socks around the house and I always wonder if she is channeling back to the pre-rescue days when she was a teenage mother. (Maybe imagining the sock is a kitten.) If my socks had kittens in them we would both be happy!

  29. *Googles moggy*

    Oh.

  30. AAAWWWWW! So snuggly buggly warm & cute!!!!!

  31. “What you’re boyfriend does with your cat when you aren’t around”.

  32. sadiesauce says:

What makes kitten torture so enjoyable to watch?

  33. So I’m the only one voting “cute or sad”?

    [looks around expectantly]

But he’s trapped in there, people!

    [slinks away]

  34. The first thing this made me think of (after “Aw” and “Ahn,” &c.) was this nursery rhyme:

As I was going to St Ives
I met a man with seven wives
And every wife had seven sacks
And every sack had seven cats
And every cat had seven kits
    Kits, cats, sacks, wives
How many were going to St Ives?

  35. Leslie — pawses and clawses. When he wants out, then out shall he pop.

  36. It’s an eskittymo!

  37. nermalkitty says:

    pheas – ONE!

  38. It’s my kit in a sock!
It’s my kit in a sock, baby

    :-)

(Btw, that was me referencing Titanic on the otter post. For some reason only the first three letters of my screen name posted. However, I really don’t think it matters–my screen name meaning is so totally obscure that I don’t think anyone would know the difference :-).

  39. I agree with Leslie and sadiesauce, people this isn’t a nice thing to do to the kitten….

  40. I don’t think that kitty is happy. :( Cats hate being trapped.

  41. Faekitty (Heather M.) says:

Oh thank goodness.. I feel better now..p.s. Sarah the nuff.. kitty is asleep..

  42. ‘pends on the kitten, Betty. Last night I dropped a big old floor-pillow on top of Mr. Bounce, who was trying get Mon Schmoop & me to watch HIM on the couch, rather than the TV. Again. Always. Happypaws happypaws claw prickle sharp.

Anyway, pillow goes kerPHLUMP, cat looks a bit vexed, but then just resigns himself, gets comfortable & stays there… for 30 minutes’ worth of “House.” Not a heavy pillow; he coulda wormed his way out anytime. But nope, he was just that lazy.

  43. RevWaldo says:

help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help. help.
    …….help?

  44. This was actually the method we used to corral our first cat when we took him to the vet to be neutered (it was like he had a premonition of what was going to happen and wouldn’t come near us or the carrier of his own volition.)It took both of us to get him in the sock, and when he got out at the vet’s he was maaaaaaaaaaaaaad!

  45. *Some* cats don’t like being trapped. Some cats will actally knot themselves under several layers of heavy blankets and then purr loudly enough to wake the neighbors.

  46. that looks mean! –Nuffingham
sometimes I used to put butterfly hair clips on my cat & see how long it took him to get them off (like 5 seconds)…so you know, peopls in glass houses.

  47. I don’t see the unkindness, really y’all. :-)

That kitten looks soooo comfy and fast asleep, and just happy, not “cute or sad”. I have some furry socks like that, and they’re very stretchy–I wouldn’t be surprised if that kitty fit herself in there, like in a sleeping bag, and took a nice long nap.

  48. Kittennschanz!

  49. Thoughts immediately upon seeing this photo (before reading comments):

    1. D’awww, comfies!!!!

    2. OMGNUFFPARADE!!!!!!

  50. Karebear says:

That would make a good commercial for socks. “Our socks are so comfy, your feet will feel like furry kittens in them”

    btw, what is bleen???

  51. Michelle says:

This morning I was watching my little guy attack the socks that I really wanted to put on my feet as though they were out to murder not only him, but his happy family as well. Now I see this and wonder, who won that battle?

Regardless, both of my guys love to wedge themselves into the softest, tightest places they can find and are content to lie there all night.

  52. The Guy Over There says:

Is this test marketing? Are we soon going to see camping kitty supplies? Can I take my cat camping now?! :O

  53. Scientists at the Kitten Institute could not say why, but something in the Russian Blue-Manx-Munchkin-Rex crossbreeding program had gone terribly wrong.

  54. The Guy Over There says:

Sorry, forgot to say it’s because it looks like a kitty sleeping bag more than a sock.

  55. Suda Nim says:

Jen — I want to compliment you on an excellent, and probably the most obscure in the thread, comment. I love that group!

(We’ll just let the rest wonder, shall we?)

  56. mischievous madchen says:

    Hey Suda…is it Mummenschantz?

  57. Suda Nim (and Jen) –
    *best* *Muppet* *Show* *guests* *ever*

  58. MMC — jinx.

  59. …Kitten sleeping bag.

  60. Laurie C says:

“When he wants out, then out shall he pop.”

Teho – this is distinctly appropriate to certain other kittens, too, isn’t it?

  61. lauowolf says:

Kitteh’s brain is tired from all the studying.
She’s a bit of a bluestocking, you know.

  62. All we need is Alice, a mushroom and a hookah.

  63. moon_custafer says:

    K is for kitten, that’s good enough for me;
    K is for kitten, that’s good enough for me;
K is for kitten, that’s good enough for me..
    Kitten kitten kitten starts with..uh

  64. Can anyone else hear the purring from here? So warm and comfy…and that totally blissed-out look on the kitteny face!

  65. Laurie C — we’ll keep checking. Kenya’s been really chowing down, lately; she’s a regular kibblebuster (with Vortex Power by Dyson).

  66. Hey have you seen my other kitten?

  67. After a particularly craptastic afternoon at work (nothing like getting yelled at by 2 different departments) this is exactly what I want to do…hide under my covers…even if the covers are a sock.

  68. Theo!!!

Crap! I thought it was an anomaly!

My rabbit does the same thing! The only TV i HAVE to see is “House”…consequently, the only time Max cares to be near me (outside of salad time) is when House is on!!!

    A conspiracy?

Anyway, for all of you thinkin this is cruel…well, i’ll assume that you’ve never been on the business end of an angry cat.

  69. Anyone who thinks kitteh is “trapped” in the sock, has clearly never seen a sweet little kitteh UTTERLY DESTROY a sock. That sock is no match for the Fury of Claws and Teeth that is Kitteh.

  70. …especially those “fuzzy socks”.

Hell, my Barney Rubbell feet destroy those fuzzy socks. Kitteh would make short work of it…

  71. Yep, that kitteh surely *wants* to be in the sock or he would *not* be in the sock. I am still puzzled as to *how* he got into the sock, however. Seems like it would be hard to get in without another hand to hold the sock still while you creep in? My kittehs have climbed into some odd places but never into a sock.

  72. The Spice must flow…

  73. Laurie C says:

    I’m in ur sock
    Bein a kitten

  74. Okay…what is it with House and animals. My cat Alaidh decides it’s time to howl her little head off for treats when I start to watch. Must be the time…or they know something we don’t…we’ll have to get House on it.

  75. mervtheflamingo says:

I’m with you on the House + kittys comment. My cat jumped out of my second story window, through the screen, when house was on last night. (He was fine, just freaked out). The window screen is another story.

  76. hahaha. That looks like it must have been knitted *around* the kitteh.

    …dry clean only?

  77. Must be related to “Cat in the Hat” and “Puss in Boots”.

  78. Extra supah tight kitteh sleeping bag. (Only for the experienced kitteh camper.)

  79. oaklandcat says:

…maybe the tree sweater lady did it.

  80. Yitzysmommie says:

ADORABULS!! I must kees the wee pink nosey.
Having been a kitty mommie for many years, I feel safe in assuring the nuffs that if the kitty didn’t like being in the sock he/she would not be there.
PS, I’m still at work and when I SQEEEEE’D, my work partner said “Cute overload again?” hee hee hee!

  81. I can tuck him into my pocket when I go sliding.. Come on kitty!! Let’s go!!

  82. Reminds me of my chihuahua. When she was little we used socks like this for her sweater by just cutting little leg holes out. If she was cold, she would go find a sock/sweater and put her nose in it and whine until someone found her and helped her put it on.

  83. Huh… I thought you were more of a cat person, Nutmeg.
Yep. Pretty sure I remember that.

  84. I love this thread! Bats, I think YOU win the most obscure, hilarious reference ever. I wonder if anyone else got it….

And Pheas, that is high-larious! ;-)

  85. Bats!LOL! Maybe he gots in the sock by using the weirding way…be careful, Bene Gesserit…

  86. Snorga — it’s not *too* obscure…
    http://www.icanhascheezburger.com/category/spice/
    ;)

    (Theo = longtime Dune fan)

  87. Dang it, I’ve been telling myself to wait till summer to read Dune, and you’re all making it harder! Maybe I can watch an adaptation while I write this essay…

  88. yankeebird says:

Oh, PLEASE tell me the dryer monster didn’t get the other one!

  89. yankeebird says:

Ilism, is that a Justin Timberlake SNL reference?

  90. That is one of the cutest things I have EVER seen!

  91. OMGD he looks like a baby blue seal!

  92. Brak_Silverbone says:

Hey, it’s one of those super-comfy fuzzy-furry bed socks! No wonder kitty is inside. Man, I wish they made ones big enough for ME to get all the way inside!

  93. Suda Nim says:

Y’know, I don’t think *anyone* on this group can make a comment so obscure that at least two people (one of whom will be Teho) won’t get it.

Stop her! She stole Mike’s keyboard!

  94. I once had a kitten who would climb into my jacket and crawl up into the sleeve. WHILE I WAS WEARING IT.
    I wish I had pictures.

  95. Dang, other nerds on Qte? No wonder this place feels so familiar. What next, a panel at D*C?

Personally, I suspect kitty’s part ferret.

  96. Constance says:

So THAT’S where the socks that “dissippear” in the dryer wind up!

    KITTEH CAPERS!

  97. We had a cat who wore a sock sweater after he was shaved lion cut bald. Sure, he HATED them, but I know they kept him warm and toasty. This looks like less of a ‘sock sweater’ and more of the ‘oversized sock jail’ though.

  98. R. Moore says:

Oh wow, I just realized… This looks exactly like me in the Christmas Pageant when I was three! I was the cutest little lamb :)

  99. oh so cute!

  100. chimera17 says:

Awwww. I used to put my ferrets in socks sometimes. They liked it, shut up. Sometimes they even went into them without any help, although it was usually head first in those cases.

  101. A sock as cute as this will always go with high-squeals.

  102. The word ‘sock’ has now lost all meaning.

  103. I HAVE those socks and would LOVE to fall asleep in them! OMG – that would be so comf.

  104. Michelle says:

Sock kitteh looks a bit like Randian from the movie Freaks. I keep expecting him to roll a cigarette and light it with his teeth.

  105. Megan D. must feel so proud of her famous kitteh – as any sock-er mom would!

  106. ThreeCatNight says:

Not crazy about the idea of kittehs in sox, but (s)he looks warm and cozy. I wouldn’t make a habit of it however; might end up in the hamper, or the dryer!

  107. MihoChan says:

Made my day. I was laughing like a maniac, but I have to wonder how much blood was shed to get that kitteh in thar?

  108. mme. kitteh eez eh sleek veesion een midnight-blue chenille!

  109. THAT IS VERY CUTE BUT ALSO VERY MEAN IF I WERE U I’D KICK SOMEONES A$$!!

  110. l mckenzie says:

Smarten up people and site master for posting this stuff. that poor defensless kitten does not look asleep or comfy to me. Stop encouraging this abuse. like the moron who took a newborn kitten from its mother to shoot a video

  111. Hay dorkburgers? …cruelty this ain’t.

  112. V. cute! mckenzie, this is NOT a newborn kitty, just look at its face and you can tell. No bebeh looks like that! Still young though, but oh so cute and snorglie!

Suda Nim, I love your obscure comment about “Stop her, she stole Mike’s keyboard!” Hee!

  113. Suda Nim says:

    See? That’s one….

  114. MST3K

  115. Suda Nim says:

    Two…….

  116. …pants?

  117. looks like a kitteh seal pup!

  118. acelightning says:

    IM IN UR SOCK
    U CANT HAVE IT BACK

  119. deltabob says:

This kitteh is so dressed up for Halloween – but, he hasn’t realized the seal costume has no visible means of propulsion.

  120. OMG, wooks wike ma kitteh!

  121. Scarydragonlady says:

How cute and fuzzy. I bet the cat loves it, because they love fuzzy things.

I will take this photo and transform it into sandwormcat.

  122. roxanne says:

the poor thing. Thats a horrible thing to do with a kitten.
