Cute Overload :D
Check out this lil’ guy hanging on his rose "front porch."
He’s all waving at cars going by and hollering "Howdy neighbor!"
Joe A. — petal-lish.
eeeeeeeee! roses!! – is it spring yet???
It’s not easy being bleen?
He looks quite content and rightly so – who among us wouldn’t want to spend our day inside a rose?
That has to be the softest toad hole yet! And also the best smelling.
He’s teeny and green and lives in a rose. Sort of Hans Christian Andersen-ish.
i’m in your flower, stealin’ your good-smelliness!
Threadjack alert! Check out this hedgehog tissue box:
That is all.
heyyy’ss meg.. mah picture was MOISHE better than a green froggy in a rose..*pout*.. tiki ish all sad..and disheartened..
Roses and a frog. Perfect Post!
Aw…nothing says romance like one single rose, with a little green frog in it.
I love little green frogs.
And big red roses.
I especially love little green frogs IN big red roses!! Beautiful (and lucky) picture.
Hey dustbunny- any chance that the website comes in English?
You know, everyone I know BUT ME has these little poopers in their yards. Pacific chorus treefrogs, ya know. I wants them.
Take some time to stop and snorgle the treefrogs.
Even froggies need a place to relax.
Pheas — you are teh AWSUM.
…just not frist.
aah, what a lovely rose. a rose by any other name would smell just as swee….what the heck!!!?
Don’t you wish we ALL had houses like this? SWEET!
LURVE the ALT tag–”glurrrpitty.” It adds to Teh Qte.
awwwww…heart beating faster for garden-time! Garden-time! La la la la! smoftest kiss evah to tiny frog’s head.
I iz in your rose…and I iz happy!
Darling lil guy…great pic.
That frawgy is straight-up chillin’. I wonder if he’ll be tippin’ a dew drop for his homies later on.
if you kiss him he’ll turn into the little prince.
I love frogs, and seeing one in a pretty rose is awesome.
Aaaaaaaaaack!!!! HOW DO YOU GET LUCKY ENOUGH TO SNAP A PIC LIKE THAT????
omg! That is such a happy picture! I love this site so moishe.
Oh my Lorrrrddddd! That is brill.
I had a garden in one of my previous houses, with a “Peace” rose in it (big, loose petals) and, for about two years running, a spider made a nursery out of it. I used to spend ages watching tiny spiderlets running around my prize rose. Funnily enough, tho’, I was the only one who thought it Qte.
Roses are red,
Froggies are green,
Cute Overload is the best website I’ve seen!
Froggies are green,
Roses are red,
I’ll stop with the praises ‘fore they go to Meg’s head!
I need a rose petal home. I could be on an episode of “World’s Most Extreme Homes”!
Sweet little froggie, and GORGEOUS photo!
By the way, is there any particular reason why I no longer have to type in a random assortment of numbers and letters in order to post a comment without the site thinking I’m a bot? NOT that I’m complaining, mind you — it’s just that it suddenly stopped, a week or so ago….
ARGH! IT JUST CAME BACK, ON MY LAST POST!!!!
Does it maybe have something to do with how OFTEN I do or don’t post? Like, if I post more than once a day, it asks me for the gobbledygook?
“y’all get ouffa my lawn b’fore i call them sheriff people on u!!! y’here?!?!?!”
sorry, that was my first reaction to that little message…. i’ll just be quiet now…
Awesome picture! I love lizards and frogs and all sorts of non-fuzzy Qties… I have a lizard at home.
Meep! This is too cute!!!
good god! how tiny must that thing be?!?!
“Wow, Petaluma is alot nicer than I expected it to be!”
I love the composition of this one. The green echoed in the vegetation and those larger than life petals with dewdrops. Best of all are those shades of green in the frog.
Maybe Kermit was wrong, maybe it is easy being green.
book-monster- i love baby spiders and such too. almost as cute as lil froggies is finding bees sleeping in flowers. i love to gently tickle them- not enough to wake them up. 8D
It’s FROG SEASON.
They are singing away in my back yard every night! Very relaxing!
Peeper, peeper, insect eater,
Used to live in Virginia creeper.
One day he followed his froggie nose,
And found a home in a blooming rose
Lauowolf, that would make a GREAT children’s book rhyme!
Yeah, this guy’s got a great Interior Decorator…*grin*
OMG,Onionpencil, TY for reminding of bees sleepimg in flowers in my gardening days! (Apartment life now) I always grew sunflowers and 2 or 3 little bees would often sleep near the bottom of the disk. Thought that would make a great name and sign for a motel: “The Sleepy Bee”.
Aubrey, I shall smack you again. And I’m not backpetaling this time.
The summer before last, my friend’s huge dahlia garden was FULL of these chorus frogs. We were out taking photos for days. So, you don’t have to be lucky, you just have to live in the rainy Pacific Northwest.
This is one little froggie that I wouldn’t mind kissin’.
The title makes me think of the song Livin’ on a prayer.
Ahhh, my uncle the photog and my sister the wise and wonderful submishtress of this froggy rose should be congratulated!!! Way to go Joe A and EllieBee!!!!
I collect all things “froggie”-and in January a photo I snapped of my boy cat Shady, covered by my frog ‘menagerie’ made it on to “Stuff On My Cat.”
My fav creature is the shortfin Mako(shark)-so I collect…frogs.
Btw-sorry ’bout the run on.
Awwww, I’m besotted with frogs – BESOTTED I SAY!
utterly cute! i love teenie froggies!
Doo doo doo, lookin’ out my back… petal.
“Aubrey, I shall smack you again.”
Pretty optimistic about your chances, eh? Take off your rose-colored glasses, ‘Nim.
“Frogsie supposes the roses are houses but frogsie supposes erroneously.”
(Apologies to “Singing In the Rain”)
SeaB-I just watched that yesterday on TCM!
Another Angela-don’t you just love all the singing frogs in the Great PNW. Sometimes when I go outside at night it is almost deafening but I love it.
MIW, I LOVE that movie! It is like one of da best movies eveh! =)
Can you imagine taking a BIG whiff of that rose?…Next thing you know, two tiny green feet are hanging out of your nose…
Watching flies passin’ by
It’s the latest thing
I’m not waiting on a lady(bug)
I’m just waiting on a friend…
SeaB-It was voted the Best Musical Movie of All Time by the American Film Institute, understandably so.
Awww – that is so adorable! He is SO tiny to fit in that flower, and he looks so very happy about the whole thing.
Froggie! He looks so comfy in his rosey hangout. Awesome pic! (It really brought the poets out too!)
Roses n’ ribbits – could this be my prince?
What a sweet lil’ froglette!
*TINY* little froggie, great big rose – and froggie looks very contented. (Well, who *wouldn’t* want to live inside a rose if they could?)
I didn’t know they even made frogs that small.
And, LynBlue? Eeeeew?
Ah crap. Shouldn’t have responded to both at the same time. Froggie feets should never dangle where they are in my head now! Too early in the day for that image!
Onionpencil, when I was at a BBQ held by some friends last summer, I was puzzled by what looked like lots of oval buttons stuck to the lavender flowers. They turned out to be bees that had been caught out by the sun going down quite quickly. Our hosts said they would probably still all be there next morning, only heading home when the sun came up.
Take time to smell the froggies!
(hee! I can’t believe someone didn’t beat me to that one!)
Lovely blog, cute and awesome picture…….
Froglets in roses,
and whiskers on kittens…
These are a few of my favorite things!
i never thought a froggie could be so cute!!! wait, who am I kidding, of coruse I did!
Just hope no one decides to pick the rose and sniff it.
My dad lives in Florida, and one day he heard a weird BIG noise on the patio. He went out there and saw nothing, but tracked the big, booming weird noise to the grill. He scaredly flipped the cover off the grill, and sitting in there was a teensy green froglet with a basso profundo voice. Very Looney Toons.
doesn’t this picture make you want to be small enough to fit inside a rose? and cute enough to appear on CO?
How did you even NOTICE that? It’s so little!! It looks like a good idea for decorating a little girl’s bedroom: paint a flower on the wall nd make her bed a petal…
Aubrey: *puckers up and leans close* *SMACK!*
See? It worked!
NOOOOO!!! No roses on this site!! I’m horribly allergic, can’t even LOOK at pix of them…I’m leaving if there’s another rose…oh, who am I kidding?! What a great shot! I love little baby froglets!!
Why is it taking so long for new posts these days?!?!? Fame hits and the fans get left to mull over yesterday’s cuteness? C’mon…I need more or I’m heading to cuter pastures!
Yes, the Qte junkies are missing their fix…
“Tremor” — Meg’s ALWAYS got a pile on her plate, and I’m out of town.
Fame “hit” a while ago, y’know. (Fark/Slashdot… Time magazine/CNN… the Webbys…)
you know the ol’ saying. “cute things come to those who wait.”
Too much of a cute thing can be detrimental to your health and the health of those around you. Just think what would happen if you got all the cute you wanted, just when you wanted it. Your head would ‘splode. And THAT is not cute!
Little froggies. The creatures I fear most.
Sorry for shouting but—
GETTIN’ BORED WITH THE FROGLET!
Got some new baby pictures to show y’all:
cute pics k in t. love the muzzlestache
Holy Whoa, that is one PINK rose. jeebus! cute froggie, though.
…is anyone else thinking that this seems very Beatrix Potter?
Try out Rosebunny in diviant art nearly as cute as this
Yes, the waiting is getting difficult. My stamen-a is wearing down.
suda nim – i hope all this waiting is not too much of a thorn in your side.
NO NEW PIX-URES TODAY!
how about a corgi?
Hey folks – I think we should all be EXTREMELY thankful that Meg does this at all – it’s not like we’re PAYING her or anything. She doesn’t owe us anything.
Besides, we’re a community. Any time there’s a longer than normal lull, go to the last post’s comments. People always post links to unofficial cuteness.
We can take care of ourselves sometimes.
Thank you kindly, Diana.
Super precious! I just love this shot. Brings a tear to the eye. Great job. Thank you!
Comment thread mutiny time…
holy CRAP, Zombie… do you have any background/source info on that pic?
Not really; only that it was posted on http://scienceblogs.com/grrlscientist/
growabrain is somebody’s blog but I haven’t seen it before.
1 o’ crock
2 o’ crock
3 o’ crock rock!
Here’s something cute — penguins in love:
Ooh, ooh, here’s another cute pic: baby lemur!!
I wonder if he’s tasty…
Whoa O.o Did anyone else see that neon hedgehog pegasus fly by!?
Suda, it seems that you rose to the occasion.
Aubrey, it’s a vine thing we’ve done.
I know I’ll be in the minority, but I like it when there are only a very few pics a day, not all posted at once. Anyway, Meg and Theo have been super at keeping the site going at such full speed. There’s always a backlog of cute and comments in the archives for the desperate.
w00t w00t w00t
4 teh “unofficial” Qte!
(Great term, diana)
You’re becoming a real thorn in my side, ‘Nim, you know that?
Aubrey, you’re such a pistil!
And you’re a-pollen, Nikkal.
(Desperately trying to think of a pun for “espalier”……failing……)
Can’t help you, Suda.
(shrubs shoulders, stalks away)
Well, don’t let it espalier your night, Suda.
AuntieMame: That was mulch better than I could have ever done.
I swear this little green dude is about to yell, “Hey, you punk kids! Get off my lawn!”
My real name is rose, so this pic is lovely ^_^
Can you even imagine what it would feel like to be inside a rose? The softness of the petals, the scent. Oh, God. What a wonder!
One time I was with a bunch of relatives at a botanical garden. I looked in a tropical flower and saw a colorful frog looking back at me, definitely from where the flower came from, not our northern U.S.
I said “Hey! There’s a frog in this flower! Look!” I cajoled and pleaded and nobody would look in the flower.
They didn’t want to take a chance on being fooled. It was April 1.
this reminds me of coffie dont as why
Ooooh look at those teeny leetle feengerz!
Oh EliottM. At least you see such a sight again here, and can revel in again in the amazing qte of yesteryear even as you glory in the present wonder. Maybe sending them the link would heal the rift?
OMG he looks so at home in there, i loooooooooooooooooooo♥e how the rose compliments his ler♥ly green skin
“He looks quite content and rightly so – who among us wouldn’t want to spend our day inside a rose?” i know i would! lo♥e roses, such a beautiful flower
