I for one am very disappointed now that I’ve read this — I saw a pygmy hippo at the Prague zoo housed in what looked suspiciously like a bathtub. For years now I have fantasized about having a bath-tub sized hippo in my home, and walking him on a leash. Now I find they actually weigh 400 pounds. I can barely handle my 60 lb dog on a leash, what am I going to do with a 400 lb hippo?

Well, I hate to break the news, people, but that is undeniably a hippo “wee-wee.” I live on a very unusual farm, and I have been the mid-wife to a variety of very unusual animals. Yes, that is where his “thing” would be; it is not too far up on his tummy. If it was an umbilical cord, it would not have the protruding belly flesh near the top, it would be much thinner, shorter, and shrivled up by this point. On the other topic, I can’t tell what exactly the thing in the back is, but I think it is simply a very cute baby pygmy hipo tail.

Oh, and SO CUTE IS THE BABY PYGMY HIPO.
