Oh my the smiling orange an white kitteh on the second row just took my breath away.
This is a great collection of feline facial expressions. It’s always amazed me that cats are able to have such expressive faces despite the fact that they’re not really very mobile. You know what I mean? You don’t generally see a furrowed brow, they don’t do all the smiling and whatnot that we do, the main thing that moves is the ear position. Yet they’re somehow able to produce all these facial expressions. Sometimes I watch my cats trying to see how they’re doing it, like, “Okay, what changed?”
How can you choose JUST ONE favorite?
And if I were to choose, it wouldn’t be the one with the poor unfortunate little mousy. Unless you were to tell me the cat and the mouse were buddies, and this is a game they play, and no little meeces were hurt in the making of that photo.
I think if I HAD to choose, it would be the marmalade kitten peeking out of the potty!

Ummm…folks? That’s part of what cats do and the whole reason humans domesticated them in the first place. Cats are carnivores and predators that also happen to be adorably cute and loaded with personality.
And yes, I did stick this collage up on my desktop, mousie and all. Because I accept the nature of the cat and love them all the more for it.
Let’s try, love the “sinner,” hate the “sin.” I love mice, and have had pets, but that aside when my calico Minerva Gumdrop used to catch uninvited mouse guests, I was grateful. I cried for the mousies, but I was proud of her.
I thought that Siamese was gnawing on the hand attached to the arm in the background at first. I like the one in the top right corner, with the typical kitty look: “Yeah, I’m licking myself. What about it?” But I think my favorite is the one middle bottom doing the wave.

And as for the mouse … it’s part of a cat’s natural diet. Now if I, a vegetarian, would look at a picture of a non-vegetarian dish and start yelling “That is NOT tasty! That’s cruel! Poor chicken/ cow/ fish!” I bet you’d waste no time in fleecing me and call me bigoted. So it goes with a cat – eating a mouse, its natural prey, is a part of a cat’s identity. I admit I don’t find it appetizing and I definitely feel sad for the mouse. But that doesn’t make the cat any less cute.

My first reaction to the mouse was “Eww!”, and then I got over it. That’s what cats do. There is nothing cruel or immoral about it.
It’s the kitteh wearing specs in the top row that cracks me up.
My fave pic is Gymnastic Kitty at bottom left corner.

We all know animal nature…we all know “what animals do”…apparently we don’t all think it is appropriate for a site titled “Cute Overload.”
As far as seeing it and getting over it…we probably would if, whenever one person says “oh, i don’t think that’s cute” they didn’t get bombarded by 10 different Cute Overlordian’s screaming “NUFF…People…Get Over IT…It happens in nature…That’s what they do..BLAH…Blah…blah…” or have “The Mod” step in…

I guess it’s also weird to post cute hammies, gerbils, and the occasional mouse on this site, but also show a mouse being eaten(possibly).
Would you like to see a beautiful large animal of some kind eating a kitten or a puppy? Probably not. But that is “nature” too.
And no one should really get riled up about the “commentroversy” this time since it’s the site owner who planted this particular seed in everyone’s heads.

What I love about it? I see a new kitteh I didn’t see before every time I look at it! ANd, it completely camouflages my desktop icons, yay!
I set this as my desktop, and it gave me good motivation to clean up my desktop, so I could see all the kittehs. Also, because I couldn’t find any of my icons. :p

Back in the ugly 70’s, my step-aunt had this wallpaper in her living room that was a giant photo of the Rockies, birch trees in the near distance, blue mountains in the background. It was horrifying.

I have loved cute overload for over a year now!Awesome site! However…(I know, I know, here it comes) as a cat lover AND rodent lover, me gots ta say somthin’. Our cat has proudly hunted and shared many a vole, gopher, etc. with us. We know that is nature’s way. We praise her for being a kitteh and sharing her food with us. HOWEVER…(and I do mean HOWEVER) Cute Overload is my “go-to” place for just the cutes and fuzzies and sillies and cutes and fuzzies.
Maybe the backend of an obviously doomed rodent hanging out of a cat’s jaw is…mmmmm…I don’t know…not so cute?

I love all cats dearly, and I accept that they’re predators, but I consider that an unpleasant reality, NOT CUTE! I will definitely not be using this wallpaper.
