Cute Overload :D
Teeny, towelie mcTuckersons here is pretty beat.
Time for some serious Zzzz action.
Thanks so much, Kimra…
I press the teeny white spot on his head. He splodes.
I wanna bury my nose in that sofffft warm fuzz…
It’s a bunny! I just realized! That white spot means he isn’t weaned yet! He’s a cottontail! Awwwww!
So he has a white fuzzy spot on BOTH ends? Double asplosions!
Yikes! The towel nap is almost bigger than he is!
i love the word towelie! so precious!
Man, that’s like some kind of weird Rorshach test. I couldn’t figure out *what* that was till I read the comments…
omg the white…. spot…. tiny tiny bebeh!!! *squeeees* he’s so tiny my Furby could eat him for a snack!
What a little sweetie! I hope his Mom’s still around somewhere.
Bebeh bunbun! Wif tiny tiny earses.
Awww, shame he didn’t make it😦
That is the softest looking critter I’ve ever seen.
Thats a bunbun? I thought it was a chin.
So sorry the little bunbun didn’t make it, but at least he died warm and with milk in his little tummy.
It took reading the comments for me to figure out that was a bun! I thought it was a schmouse.
What a sweetie pie!
*fingers in ears* Lalalala I can’t hear the nuffers. I’m just gonna sit here, eat my frozan custard (sharing with teeny kitters) and try to pet the bunbun through the screen.
EVERYONE IGNORE THE NUFFINGHAMS!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DON’T TURN THIS INTO ANOTHER POM AND CHICKIE POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What’s all this talk of the wee bun not making it?? Where are you getting that information and why are you making us so sad?!?
NebraskaErin, click the link, its sad…why oh why did this cuteness end up so SAD……….
Teeny tiny honk shu’s
I clicked the link (Kimra?)and did not find anything that tells me bunbun is gone.
Oh, never mind. Found the sad story.😦
I just read the story here:
(is under the picture to the right of the one posted here in CO)
very sad, but it was a veeeery tinie bunrab. thanks to Kimra for doing what she could and ensuring that bebeh bun was warm and comfortable through the end of his life.
[moment of silence]
sleep well, bunneh prince
and may flights of bunangels
fly you to your rest
But don’t be sad… ‘Tis better to have loved and lost and all. And she put in a goodly effort at saving him.
My shaggy boy Gluon here says, “I may no longer be on earth, but my mama never tires of looking at me.”
I found the link. Boo! Such a cute, wee little bun.
I once rescued a little bunneh from my cat, but he was bigger, and we were able to let him go near a nice bunneh family.
These kind of photos need a warning… like may induce cute shock fainting. Or may induce tears of sadness when finding links.😦
Glad to have gotten to share in this photo.
This is the kind of sickeningly cute baby animal that you just want to SQUEEZE till it pops, but you know you can’t. o_o
Well, at first I was a little distressed to see this on c.o. when the bun “didn’t make it” but then I realized, the little bun now has many loving thoughts floating to and about him, wherever he is. So it’s good that he was posted here.
Mary, those are lovely images and I like to think of the wee one “enveloped in loving thoughts”.
speaking only for myself, this picture and its story reminded me of the (many times) that I or a sibling would bring a li’l critter in the house and look up expectantly at mommy.
“can we save it mommy, can we?” and mom would get a shoebox, line it with washcloths, old tshirts, and other cloths to make a refuge for the li’l one for its final hours. ’tis are bittersweet memories, but wouldn’t give them up for anything. taught me most of what I know about compassion.
Well you guys think *that’s* bad… I, on reading the comments on Flickr, at first thought that this photo was a tableau mordant… I was like, *gasp* “oh no!” etc. The reality was actually an *improvement*, pour moi.
Yeah, I thought the same thing for a moment, too, Arvay. I was relieved to find that I was overreacting.
Poor little bun. But it’s part of nature, ya know?
I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s comments about bun. It is very enriching to know our hearts can go out to such a little creature, and that there are lots of people like us and Kimra. Losing little anipals is hard, but somehow it reminds us that we love and get sad and thats ok. *sniff* and not a glass of red in sight!
I hate to hear things like this, but it’s nice to know there are people out there in the world today who care for animals this way.
Erm … no …
I hear the RUMORS that it’s a bunny, but I see no bunny! Is this one of those posters where you have to relax your eyes and tilt your head before you can make out the image?
Oh the poor bunny!😥
It’s nice to know that some people care out there, though.
Awww, poor little bunnikins. I was always told that wild cottontails don’t do very well in captivity. May the Rabbit-in-the-Moon watch over all the little bunnies everywhere…
So is this a Cute but Sad?
Ahh, this makes me sad. I know he’s in a better place, though.
I’ve seen many dead bunnies since I began volunteering at the Wildlife Rehab Center, but it never gets easier. It’s always difficult and makes me cry.
Poor little bun😦
Proof that only trained C.O. professionals should try putting baby animals in their moufs, not cats…
Awwww.. so sad witto bun didn’t make it. Kudos to Kimra for trying to save the witto guy..sniff..
Are you referring to the Buddhist tale of the rabbit in the moon? This is the version I read, but there are lots: To feed one of Buddha’s hungry friends, the animals of the forest brought him the prey that they captured so that he might eat. But the rabbit, who ate no meat, offered himself instead. So in gratitude, Buddha placed an image of a rabbit in the moon so that its generosity might shine as an example to all.
I got all teary just typing this.
What a little wee bunneh and cared for by Kimra till the end.
I too lost a bunneh that I fed and kept warm for 5 days, it didn’t make it and I had such hopes to set it free when it got bigger. I was sad for a very long time and then 8 yrs later I adopted a bun and now lavish him w/ all the lovin I can, gonna hug and kiss kiss under his lop ears tonight when I get home.
Aubrey, what a beautiful story. My best friend joined the Peace Corps and went to Thailand several years ago. She told me that down there, a full moon looks like there’s a rabbit in it, instead of a man smiling at us. Ever since then, I like to turn my head to see the bunny in the moon. Thanks for sharing the Buddha tale.
Japanese people see a rabbit in the moon, hard at work pounding rice (mochi).
I’ve looked at pics meant to show the rabbit in the moon (superimposed on images of the moon) and boy, there’s a lot of variation in who sees what where!
What an adorable bunny! Thanks so much for sharing this. And thanks for trying to save the bunny. What a kind thing to do.
Sadly, this poor baby bunny’s story is also a reminder that it’s not good for cats to be outside. Not safe for them and not safe for local wildlife.
rest in peace, little bunny
By request from Kcat, in the interest of “new cute for today”, feast your eyes on ‘TOCKS!! http://www.musicchick2.vox.com
Is that a bun-bun?! :O It’s so teeny and edible looking!! Edible is a good thing.
Looking at CO with my 3.5 yr old who sees this picture and says “Ooooh, who is that all snuffled up all cozy?!” Double cute overload, picture and adorable kid word!
This is one of those things that gives me hope for the human race – that people like Kimra are out there picking up tiny little baby critters and giving them a peaceful environment, even if it’s only for a short time. We’re not such a bad species at that …
Sweet, tiny tiny baby.
Almost too cute to be believed.
aww, I love you babybun … you made my heart fill the room for you were too cute😀 (lump in my throat) you did a good job with this picture kimra and thanks for helping the bun.
