I could never have a dog that was this cute, I would have ripped up furniture, tinkle stains, and 50 million dog toys cluttering the house. There would just be no way to tell this one no. Louie, the most patient dog in the world (dude, he put up with all three of us growing up from infant to terrible toddler on up) and Sam, the sweet, stubborn, cranky boy who was my father’s dog…as in, he chose my father to hang with rather than anyone else in the family.

Lauri, all beagles have eyeliner. I think it helps make their eyes look even bigger.
I think long ago the people who design breeds created Beagles specifically to have the perfect make-you-melt big brown puppy eye look. Even my parents’ beagle can do the look and he’s getting pretty old and fat. (That’s another thing they bred into them…a voracious appetite!)
