Cute Overload :D
Ssssssssssh! If you listen closely, you can hear them!
C.O.S.E. (Cute O Sound Effects)Honk-shu (regular sleep)[38K]Mini Honk-shus (deep sleep)[40K]
Thanks to LizZZZZZZZZZZ [trails off]
Looks like otter tail to me. But thats hoping for too much isn’t it?
Hee! The C.O.S.E.s are absolutely it. I’m telling ya!
And I didn’t even notice the little white footsie until I looked at the second photos.
What is it with cats and footwear? Mine are always sticking their faces into my shoes or slippers.
This little pud is probably just trying to get warm and cozy, though.
Meg — re: sound effects — here’s about what happened, here:
1) Was just about to relax on the Movie Couch, with some old Jeremy Brett episodes of “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” under a pile of pillows (ahhh… all mine…)
2) Clicked FireFox open first, to check on Teh Qte™
3) “Sound effects”? Hmm, I seem to remember a close-mic’d purr a while back…
7) [forehead smack] OMG LOL [groan] [snicker] [sputter]
Girl, we need to get you some kittens. Like, actual feline baby kittens, and NOW.
It’s little Mr. Kitten-Boots all tie-tie after exploring the slipper. Awwwww.
I need new slippers. Right now my cats only have my shoes to get into.
love the sound effects.
and the teeny kitten tail.
your sound-fx woke up gordon, the little 6-week old kitten lying next to me… he was all “huh? what the…”
the sleepy kitty picture, the honkshu’s, and gordon just made my little head explode
too tiny for the red couch of fabulousness, it went for the red slipper of fabulousness?
Kitten slipperage = SO adorabubble.
however, the deep sleep honk-shus…that sounds like a piglet.
I expect some comment links with REAL kitty purring/sleeping sounds.
let’s go peeps!
“I just know there’s a jelly bean down at the toe…”
could the little footsie BE any cuter?!
oh my pugness…
I couldn’t hep mysef.
This one is short and sweet:
(lots of amusing sounds at this site, very confusing to my catten)
–I believe that lurking in that slipper is the World War I Flying Ace, downed behind enemy lines, steathily making his way back to France to have a root beer with Bill Mauldin:
If I hide in the slipper and push across the trenches with one foot no one will see me!
Crikey! Spotted! Employ camouflage manouver! Honk-shu! Honk-shu! Snore for your liiiiiiives!
What is it with cats in shoes?
Sounds like pigs. 🙂
I have to agree with other commenters about cats and footwear. My Sheba is constantly trying to shove her 15-pound self into any shoe of mine she finds not being worn.
Camera eyes, sound effects – is there no end to the many talents on CO?
What I want to know is how the heck were those honk-shus recorded without giggles or snorts of laughter? Oh, and the kitty is stinkin’ cute! My kitties and dog seem to think that footwear is a type of very special potpourri.
technically, it should be C.O.S.F/X.
still…who broke into my house to record my fat marmie leon while he dreamed his kitty dreams?
misscrisp: I found that site once, and was ROTFL at my 2 cats trying to get inside the computer screen.
Regarding cats and shoes, I have a silly story. My girlfriend Izzie came over to my house one day, and said, “I’m going to take off my shoes, they may be stinky because I’ve been at work all day.” I replied, “Oh, that’s no big deal. They don’t smell in the slightest!” Which was a lie. So naturally, my cats both come over and sniff and her shoes for a good 10 minutes. It was simply hilarious.
Well its about freakin’ time CO got some sound effects!
let’s give a round of applause for the honk-shus *yay* meg, you’ve taken CO to a new level of CUTENESS. and OVERLOADEDNESS. thank you, thank you!
If my husband sounded like those cute little kitties when he snored I probably wouldn’t spend so much time sleeping on the multi-colored couch of unfabulousness. Oooh. my aching back! Maybe I should get a kitty to snorgle with instead.
so i, uh, guess that makes those, uh, honk-shoes?
(runs for cover behind dog dish)
Blair, that is such genius that I am changing the title of the post…
hey! i thought you spelled it different and I was gonna make the ‘honk-SHOES’ joke! hmph.
Gotta be quick round these here parts. Heh.
Hee–I wish my kits were small enough to do this. And to make tiny honk-shus.
LoL, Peg of Tilling! The thought of the World War I Flying Ace poooshing his way thru the countryside in a slipper! YES!!
PS. I was quick about 20 years ago. I am now happy just to be able to see. 😉
Peg of Tilling, that was hilarious. What a great mental image 🙂
Kitty sez: “I love the smell of toejam in the morning…” 😉
My big ole orange psycho cat Loki occasionally tries to stalk, kill, and eat my shoes… when they’re on the floor under my bed, at 4 AM.
meg, i am honored and appleased, and in return i shall link the tiny honk-shoes of a 35-lb beagle, circa 2004 (action-shot included):
The mini honk shus made my frigging week. Nay, my MONTH.
Whee, shoe warmers!!!
If your kitter
Takes a dipper
In your favorite bedroom slipper
For now your slipper you must share
Peg O’ T:
Yes, the saga of the celebrated duo, the Red Baron Slippers (also known as the Fokker Walkers)…two slippers padding across No Man’s Land, making their way towards the Florsheim Line. These pictures are proof of the intense interrogation they underwent when captured by the Friskies Battalion.
(oh, and a wee correctette? Mauldin would be WWII; WWI would be Bruce Bairnsfather)
I still enjoy sticking my head into shoes. They smell so interesting!
Sopwith scuffs, choice of flying aces everywhere…Bill Mauldin was WWII, but so was Charles Schultz–Mauldin and Snoopy often tossed back a few root beers on Veterans’ Day. The 2 to 3 dimensional shift was tough on the waitresses, but it was just once a year, and they tipped well.
Other caption: We all live in a slipper submarine.
Laughing at the jelly bean, J. Bo…
Wow, I went stupid for a second, looking at that…
Passed out from teh cute.
Aubrey and Peg! Great!!!
I can SEE the jelly bean, too.
Blair, the beagle honk-shus are precious! Lol!!!
And so is the pic!
blair, love the “honk shoes”!
I should add that the Red Baron Slippers were actually second generation technology–the Red Baron Espadrilles were first, so while the Slippers were known as the Fokker Walkers, the Espadrilles were known as the Fokker Mothers.
Laughing at the “Florsheim Line,” Aubrey, and I had to look up Bruce Bairnsfeather (didn’t he play Watson in the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies?) so you win. I bow to your Comic-Fu.
OW, my laugh muscles are still sore from Brian Regan last night, and you are stressin’ them again with your Fokker Mothers, Peg!
Yoooowch! And giggle!
If this sound effect trend continues, we’re soon gonna have .wav files for “squee, “spoit” and “splode”
…all will sound somewhat squishy….
Peg, you forget about the Lafayette Espadrilles…the first time American shoemakers took part in WWI (1916), a full year before America entered the war.
*ded from laughing too hard*
*ressurects after looking at the kitten* Cuyuuuuuute… *zombie*
(Aubrey, Peg – you kill me. ^^)
FYI, I really do like the idea of expanding our sound-effects pallette. Hmmmmmmmm…
Aubrey, I think you mean the Lafayette Slingbacks, who arrived in France under the banner “Lafayette, we are heels.”
Later, many French women agreed, but that’s another story.
This better not be TWO kittens in TWO slippers, coz I’m a gonna die.
BTW, Fiasco T. Peabrain (b. 24 July 2006) has received his second set of shots and gained 1.2 pounds (now a lusty 3.5 lbs). His vocabulary consists of Meer, Pert Meer?, Meer Eep?, and Wacka (see B. Kliban).
Karen – Bestest Kitteh Name EvarEvarEVAR, and fun to say – “Fiasco T. Peabrain, you stop that Right Now! . . . ohhh, cute.”
ROFL….damn, you guys are funny today. Or is it my brain? Does it think everything is funny. *feels around brain*
Nope, it’s you guys!
Karen in Toronto! HEEEEE!! What a great vocab little Fiasco T. Peabrain has!
Aubrey and Peg of Tilling — my cheeks hurt. Shoes have never been so much fun.
wasn’t hijacked, then
has taken over. The last pic made me hold my sides.
*giggle* Karen, I was showing those to my kids yesterday and ended up with tears running down my cheeks.
I love the little Dude, wait, what? Marmie kit.
I wanna grab that little footsie ‘tween my thumb and forefinger and *squish*!
Very adorable. Very.
When I played the snoring, my doggeh was all “Barrrru??”
One of the guys I work with has a cat named Dammit… which is pretty funny since cats rarely come to you when called… Here Dammit…
