Australian Animal Favorites 4

Sender-inner Michelle describes this image as "the cutest photo of a lamb in sweater I’ve ever seen." Um, I’LL SAY! Apparently, this little lambykins lives on her in-law’s farm in Australia. Absolutely, fully, and totally redonk. Looks like he’s going out to get the newspaper.

Lamb: “Why am I getting this feeling of…deja vu? Yeah, that’s what I mint – MEANT, MEANT – to say!”

  10. arbed says:

Very, very cute pic. He’s so clean that he must have just had a bath – the sweater is to keep the after-bath chills away. And, ummmm, am I the only one wondering what the sweater is made from? ;-)

  11. arbed says:

    Jinx, Aubrey!

  12. A thinker says:

    Oh. My. Goodness.

A clean pink fuzzy glowing lambie in a grandpa sweater? *thunk* That’s it, folks, I think I’ve died.

  16. brownamazon says:

I just got an e-mail from my husband that said, “there’s a picture of a lamb in a sweater on Cute Overload.” Of course, I had to drop everything and come look. Eeeeee! Not only are those hoovlets clean–they feel like little erasers (it’s true.) And note the oh-so-chic Blunstones (or are they RM Williams?)lined up on the porch. The whole thing looks like a fall fashion photo shoot for Australian Vogue. Reeee-donk!

  17. Lauri says:

    Aaaaaawwwwww :)
    What a sweetsweet lambikins.
And, he does sorta look like Mr. Rogers. Heeeeee.

I love the knobbly knees and the fuzzly ears with the light shining through!

LOL reminds me…I met a bunch of Kiwis in Cairns & the one guy was like “I’m SO SICK of sheep jokes!!!” (I think it was an Aussie giving him a hard time, haha)

  21. brownamazon says:

    And another thing:
What *are* those creatures on the sweater? Mice? Wolves? Dancing kangaroos? It’s the icing on the cake, really.

  22. Theo says:

RidBaxter — you took the words right out of my fingers.
    No need to be sheepish.

  23. chelsea says:

    fuzzy fuzzy ears.
i want him! i will even make him sweaters for each day of the week :]

  24. Sarah says:

Blunnies in the background! Nothing screams “Australia” more than a pair of Blundstone boots

  25. Ttoby89 says:

    That’s ridiculously cute. A SWEATER! And it’s a LAMB!

  26. ceebs says:

At first I thought they were minkies on teh sweater, but now I think they are meeces. Either way,

  28. Otter says:

    Platypuuuus!
    I demand platypus!
    well… not really demand… just… sort of suggest… please?

  29. yes says:

Awww.. how cute. Think about this lil darling next time you eat a gyro. Seriously, “Awww its so cute I could just DIE but as soon as its dead it’ll taste mighty fine!” Calves, pigs, ducks, chickens… they all feature prominently here and you all go to bits over them but YOU KILL THEM AND EAT THEM. Pure hypocrisy.

  30. Theo says:

    ATTENTION WORD NERDS.
THERE ARE TWO NEW ADDITIONS AND ONE NIFTY UPDATE NOW IN THE GLOSSARY.
    W00T, I SAY.

  31. Aubrey says:

  34. Theo says:

    ATTENTION AGAIN WORD NERDS.
MAKE THAT *THREE* NEW GLOSSARY ADDITIONS.
    W00T AND YAY.

  35. A thinker says:

I thought the sheep in Wallace & Gromit was actually called Shorn? Mmm…can somebody with more internet time than me look that one up?

  36. ceebs says:

Wow, Mariser gets her own entry in the CO glossary! nice one! (I have no idea how long that one has been there, I never looked at the whole list before)

  37. Holly says:

OMG! So cute!! Fuzzy ears and that sweet lil face. G’day mate!

  38. Theo says:

Ceebs — that was a little winking retribution, right there. It’s not new, tho.

  39. Theo says:

Tink — it was Shawn (Sean), probably *because* it sounds like “shorn”.

  40. bunnajenny says:

    OMG Knobbly Knees!

  43. Danielle says:

    Attention Cute-mart Shoppers:

Buy one, get one snorgle for free.

Have a cute day and thank you for shopping at Cute-mart.

  44. verily says:

Lambs in sweaters! I haven’t seen such a thing since I was young and in 4-H. It helps keep their coats just so after you shear ‘em.

  45. Lex - Be says:

Brownamazon, I had the same feeling about that “fall catalogue” look a like, it’s the sweater and the boots. And the liiight is… woaaaa. Where is this place?

  46. Anna says:

A platypus would surely make for original snorgles!

  47. Aelice says:

yes, I’m happy to find animals adoreable when I’m not eating or wearing them. :) What did those innocent plants ever do to you?! Some day, a device will be made so you can hear flowers scream every time they’re plucked.

  48. Star Cat says:

That is sooo disgustingly cute, I’m not even sure what to do. They look like “Barrel of Monkeys” monkeys on the sweater! (even though they aren’t, I realize this)

  49. mariser says:

    T.,

    not that I’m complaining (I wouldn’t dare), but…
    …mebbe
    …perhaps
    consider adding this thread, http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overload/2006/08/sleepin_on_big_.html
to the “Sound of Music, The” entry in teh COG?
IIRC, there were many fav’rite things, Alpine yodeling, and staircase performances on that thread too…

  50. Ponygirl says:

Look how small he is against the shoes behind him! Little sheepy sheep!

  64. misscrisp says:

    ~Happy Word Nerd~
My eyes popped a bit on first seeing Theo’s post re: COG freshitudeness. You see, I recently adopted “word nerd” as my (un)official title at ye olde workplace, and I had a panicky moment.
(i.e. OMG the MAN is now ~~speaking to me~~ through CO comments, help!)
Glad it wasn’t some kind lexicographical work emergency, just more of my favorite Teh Qte!!

did I mention that I have yet to suppress the giggles when looking at this lambkin?

“Now I can be relied on to keep a secret…I won’t tell your parents, but I’ve heard a certain word coming from your direction…so: have you been ewe-sing?”

  86. OMG! Has anyone else noticed that the little ivy-eater’s still got his umbilical stump?! It’s hanging out the bottom of his sweater!

Awwwwww, he’s probably still all woobly on his knobbly little legs, even! Hell, forget me being melted, I’ve done sublimated!

the sweater has mo-effing monkey prints on it

  89. Rene says:

As if lambs aren’t cute enough, this one has to be wearing a sweater. I don’t think I can stand it.

  90. Darcy says:

Do sheep have eyes like goats? ‘Cause I think this one has the horizontal pupils.

  91. Lauri says:

Ok, scrolled up to see, Yes! He does have his umbilical stump AND horizontal pupils!

(of course, many boring teachers have horizontal pupils) narnar.
