From the Muppet files

My dear coworker Brian F. sent in these pics of ‘Lily" pup. I think she’s half Muppet, all adorable—check out his brillo photos of Lily looking out the window:

    That’s not a puppy, that’s a Swiffer…

  6. Christina says:

    It’s a conspiracy. ;)

    That pup is so floofy.

… I was confused; i had to look at it three times.

  9. sabrina says:

  10. Grace says:

His nose is even better than the beaver nose.

I want to see his face!

  11. Michelle says:

    awwww muppet ‘toks. teehee.

  12. michelle says:

Lily is my favorite doggy name, and it appears that she is made for snorgling!

  13. Ashley says:

I have a “Lily” too who might be this doggie’s long lost sibling. She is a Westie but about 10 pounds bigger than she should be….maybe a Muppet snuck in the backyard!!

  14. Tanya says:

fuz to the wuzzy. (lol, just random, but it ish cute)

  15. Mel says:

Lily, fuzzy queen of all she surveys.

  16. M- says:

Oh my God! It’s Rolf’s lost love child!

  17. Theo says:

    Rolf and Camilla, maybe?

  18. Tanya says:

    maybe =)

  19. ElfOwl says:

AWW! What a little doll! I totally wish I had one of those cuddled on my lap right now, licking my face. Then I could send it to clean my kitchen floor.

  20. Aubrey says:

Is Lily about to be frisked?

  21. Tracey L. says:

…anybody know the breed of this dog? she’s soo adorable!! danke!

  22. makiono says:

erm… is it just me or does the first time you look at the top picture you see a disembodied head?? ahah, I had to stare at it and the bottom picture for a few minutes to make sense of it. “Muppets” + “looking out window” + no window in sight = very weird way of seeing that photo…
ahah, luckily I finally get it >.< ''

  23. Laurie C says:

Great pix. I find those really original photo compositions. The top one, especially. I can almost feel the wind blowing in those ears.

  24. Schnoodler says:

That has got to be a schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle cross). Ours is always standing like that, we have been tempted to get her little trousers.

  25. misschelley says:

jim henson also did fraggle rock, and this looks like sprocket, the human’s dog that every week had trials with the muppet cat and the fraggles.

  26. misschelley says:

looking closer at these pics, i’m assuming she really is a muppet as we never see the full body shot. its only the head and only the feet, that’s so the muppet operator can move them, right?

  27. anony says:

She totally looks like a Wheaten pup from those angles. My Wheaten mix has those little red britches too- and has the odd appearance of a stuffed animal/mop before he gets groomed.
    Fluffy dogs are the best!

  28. missmichelle says:

I like the top picture, but the bottom one is kinda sad- I hope he washed that poor pup after the picture taking- it is NOT hard to keep fur clean, even when it’s white… I have a maltese, and she jumps in just about any puddle she can.

  29. Rafael says:

Remind me of my old dog, may he rest in peace. Enjoy the muppet one, he will bring you nothing but joy!

  30. phel jones says:

    Perfect

  31. Deckard Canine says:

Gee whiz, my sister had a stuffed white dog named Lily. I think it looked realer than that.

  32. Aubrey says:

I just hope she isn’t looking for Dean Jones.

  33. Deb says:

I second the person who said it is a wheaten… a soft coated wheaten terrier… Good breed!

  34. Almost as cute as this:

    http://ultrarealism.blogspot.com/

OK. Not quite as cute, but at least you’ll be warm and fuzzy.

  35. AuntieMame says:

I couldn’t figure out at first if the top picture was the pup’s legs or really alert ears.

And the skinny ol’ hind legs in picture 2 are anerable!

  36. Jeffy says:

    Dirty dog.

  37. Pocky says:

    Elmo butt?

I couldn’t tell that was a head on the first pic except for the little black nose.

  38. Christy says:

fluffy! I’d been thinking that there are not nearly enough fluffy little dogs on this site.

  39. pheral says:

that is so adorable! i go crazy every time i see Gonzo’s hands and this is having the same effect. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

  40. ceejoe says:

How do we know her fur is dirty? Maybe that’s her coloring?

  41. TJ says:

Definately a Wheaten Terrier and that is their color…wheaten! I have one and he looked like a stuffed bear when he was a puppy. Do a search on google images, cute stuff. http://www.wheatenrescue.org/images/spider.jpg

  42. pillow says:

Ok, so you’ll upload pics of a disgusting dirty dog’s hind end, but not my kitten, paws outstretched, being held by an adorable tiny girl?

what is the world coming to?!

  43. Theo says:

    Oh noes.

  44. betty says:

Awww so cute! I’ll back up the Wheaten Terrier thoughts..we have on next door, “Scout”, who is just the sweetest girl. I call her “Scout about town”…

  45. Judy says:

someone give this mutt a bath

  46. ceejoe says:

For heaven’s sake, we’ve already determined that she’s not dirty. She’s a wheaten terrier and that’s their coloring! Sheees…

  47. Michele says:

cookie monster voice “today, mo no going to eat picture of cute animal of the day. today me going to have… willpower! *looks longingly at the photo smacking lips* no no! me no eat little fluffy puppy! *licking lips* oh, what they hey? *chomp chomp chomp*

  48. pillow says:

I disagree Ceejoe, whaten terrier or not, her butt and hind paws are definitely soiled. If you look closely I think you can detect the slightest hint of poopy-butt.

  49. pillow says:

    Erm…Wheaten. I can’t type.

  50. ceejoe says:

I am not gonna argue (ohmmmmmm) and I am certainly NOT gonna look for poopy-butt.

  51. semi says:

Awww I love the pants on this little pup! What a cutie!

  52. Elizabeth says:

The first three times I looked at this I thought the nose was a ponytail holder and the right paw was a big poof of floof.

    I LOVE wheaten terriers.

  53. Pennicat says:

I think she’s clean. Judging from how clean the WHITE carpet is that she’s standing on, I do not beleive that her human companions would put up with a poopy butt puppy in the house!

  54. martha in mobile says:

Look at the delicate and uniform shading from ivory to apricot! Look at the dainty clean front paws! She’s a multi-shaded lovely, not a poopy-butt!

  55. Sammy says:

Of course the puppy is clean. I’ve never seen a white Wheaten Terrier, anyway.Would Meg post a poopy-butted pup? I think not.

  56. Theo says:

*MEG* might not post something like that, Sammy, but…
    http://cuteoverlord.blogspot.com/2006/07/beach-patrol-of-hell-hound.html

  57. Sammy says:

    eeewwwwwwwww!

  58. AmyH says:

Whew! We hadn’t had a commentroversy in a few posts – I thought perhaps we’d all gone soft. But no! Prosh poochie patootie pics are posted and protesters pounce! (Okay, so it’s not a full-blown raging going on, but I couldn’t resist.)

To me, this doggie just looks like he likes being a dog, not some frou-frou pooch.

Just keep being happy, Mr. Fluffy Dog!

  59. rose says:

    thats weird

  60. Cookie says:

Mr. Fuzzypants is my new desktop background.

  61. Nicky says:

lol cute!! but seriously someone give this dust mopper a bath!!! hahaha

  62. Ashley says:

after 2 days in the hospital, this is a WONDERFUL thing to come home to
    :)

  63. hrh.squeak says:

Ashley – Hope all is well. Can we send Audrey a Get-Well Port-a-Snorg? (How do you do the tiny tm thing?)

  64. el kyle says:

I have one that looks like her only “blonde”, she is an irish terrier. Her name is MOPPETT as she is half mop and half muppett. Her ears are so incredibly cute, they go 2/3 up and then down, with fur throughout.

  65. Nickole says:

    Checklist:

    1. Wash doggie, kitten, moose or other animal of your choice.

    2. If this is not sufficient to give white fur an uniform colour, bleach fur.

    3. Wait for animal to do something cute. (This shouldn’t involve babies holding the animal inexpertly, or use of babies’ accessories.)

Now take picture and send to CO. If posted, it probably won’t cause any controversy except one or two “photoshopped!” comments.

  66. michele says:

That’s not cute! It’s gross! Looks like it’s covered with pee stains!

  67. Nickole says:

    I rest my case.

  68. Molls says:

That is one cute little Lily! Give her a big smootch on that muppet head for me!

  69. MissMichelle says:

The pup’s definately a cutey… but Wheaten or not, it’s also definately dirty. How to tell? Because the hind legs and butt in particular are the dirtiest parts, oh- AND the back, which lots of dogs constantly like to lay on their backs and rub… The dog doesnt have to be white fluff to be adorable, but it’d be nice if it were CLEAN. Sheesh.

  70. MissMichelle says:

…Besides, she doesnt look like a Wheaten terrier based on her snout.
Her face isnt long, like a rectangle as breeders describe the Wheaten terrier to look like. Actually, what’s odd is her head (going from this bird’s eye view) looks quite similar to a maltese, perhaps a mix?
