It has come to our* attention that several good peeps on from Flickr’s Bunny Lovers Unite pool have lost their buns over the weekend.
It’s always hard to lose a pet—especially a precious, soft, snorgly bun. Even when that bun shows her "miniature disapproval", she’s still a sweetheart.
Here’s to you and your wonderful pets, let’s hope they’re all snuggling in that great rabbit warren in the sky…

Even with all the adorable bun photos last week, this is the one that reminds me of Nina, the “emergency” bunny we snuck into the dorms when I was in college. Flufferkins is bunny perfection, and indecently snorgable.

Quick question… did anyone else fall in love with bunnys from books? I absolutely LOVE the Velveteen Rabbit and Bunnicula from when I was a child and I wondered if others started their bunny love affair this way too?

As for rabbit books, my dad bought me a book when I was a kid called, “The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes.” Awesome, awesome book written by a dad for his daughter back in 1939. It’s a tail (sorry) of empowerment in a fuzzy form. A classic. It really influenced me. It’s on my bookshelf, and one day will become a tattoo.
Um, I should probably add that the “Country Bunny” author was Dubose Heyward, the man behind Porgy and Bess, among other things.

A while ago, friend of mine lost a very beloved dog. I advised him to – as soon as he felt able – get to the pound! FORTHWITH!
He did, found a new dog-friend and hasn’t regretted it since. I always thought – as one who can’t keep pets, though dearly would like to – that the best justice one can do to the memory of a lost pet is to adopt another.

I’m so sorry for everyone who has lost a bunny. I’m sure they were all loved very much, and had great lives. I just lost my GP, I still go to his cage to feed him every morning. It’s hard to break those habits. I agree with AUBREY though, the best thing to do when you are ready, is to save anothers life, in memory of your friend. One of their little friends will certainly appreciate it.

Those disapproving rabbits make me wish I had a water proof camera. I’d get some video of my cats scolding me while I’m in the shower (Although not any footage of ME in the shower.) They sit up on the shower wall and say things like, “Oh. My. God. That can’t be good for you. All that water and soap. Are you mad? Have you lost your senses? Meeeee-mee-mee-oooow!” It drives them crazy seeing anyone bathe. They do not approve.
