At the boxcar cat feral colony I’m trying to look after, this morning I saw five five-week old kittens bumbling about. And two more slightly older. A veritable cornucopia of kittens. Too bad they scatter when I come close enough to grab them.

A feral colony, living under some boxcars that have been converted into a restaurant. I’ve counted 18 different cats under there now, NOT counting two litters yet unseen that were born this week. I bring food and water and hope to trap-neuter-release some of them this summer, and maybe rescue some kittens for adoption.

I don’t even have a digital camera, I’m that much of a Luddite. Got my analog pix scanned, and a friend took some digitally. We’re gonna get more pix tonight. I’ve never trapped before, but am getting advice from a cat rescue group. So this will be an adventure.

Isn’t this a Trifecta? I see rules #20, #19, #12, #2 and #1, to say nothing of sleepy tail-self-snorgle, furr depth and texture, stripey smiley mug and nice blanket. There’s even a subtle eyes-at-nose-level element. Its just too dangerous for words, this one.
